Hajime no Ippo
Hajime no Ippo is a masterful story about a shy kid who discovers his goals, aspirations, and purpose through boxing. I love this anime not just for its portrayal of boxing but for how real and relatable the characters feel. Whether you're a sports fan or not, this series will leave you inspired, energized, and ready to chase your dreams. It even helped me climb out of a tough spot and start weight training and boxing myself.
Your Lie in April
Your Lie in April is a beautiful, emotional journey that stays with you long after it ends. Every time I watch it, I feel a mix of sadness and longing—it’s just that powerful. This was the third anime I ever watched, and as of now, I’ve rewatched it four times. Each time, it leaves me heartbroken but unable to look away. The story is so simple yet delivers a devastating emotional punch. Watching Kousei Arima grow into the pianist he’s meant to be is inspiring, but knowing what it costs him makes it all the more painful to witness.
Tokyo Ghoul
Tokyo Ghoul (manga) is a dark, gritty story that asks, "What does it mean to be human?" It’s a world where nothing is clear-cut—no heroes, no villains, just shades of grey. At the heart of this is Ken Kaneki, our protagonist, who represents the perfect middle ground between humans and ghouls. He starts with the typical "ghouls are bad, humans are good" mindset, but after becoming a ghoul, he is forced to confront the harsh realities of both sides. As he learns about the struggles of ghouls, he also witnesses how brutal humans can be, abandoning their own humanity in their quest to eliminate what they fear.
