Dungeon Meshi addpermalink

For a moment, think of The Record of Lodoss War, in that it was created based on a traditional role playing game.  Now think the same again for both Dungeon Meshi and Maoujou de Oyasumi.  Except, instead of regular gamers, think of a game that's being played by chefs in the former and narcoleptics barely staying awake on the latter.

Both have the same vibes, with a princess that's not quite like your stereotypical princess and demons that are not demon-like at all. Both are funny and relaxing series.

Maou no Hisho addpermalink

In both of these manga shows the comedy between a human and demons. They both feature a protagonist that is more 'Demon' than the demon lord. Though set in a fantasy world where heroes and demons fight each other, there is hardly any violence portrayed, making these manga a good lighthearted comedy.

Both series essentially have a human amidst the demons and in a way wreak havoc on the demons daily lives. It is also shown that the demons aren't so bad after all.

Dusk Howler addpermalink

"Sleepy Princess in the Demon Castle" and "Dusk Howler" are comedy shounen stories where an "ordinary" human ended up in an "ordinary" demon castle and radically changed the lives of the "ordinary" demon king and other "ordinary" monsters that live there.

"Sleepy Princess in the Demon Castle" is a fantasy story where the demon king kidnapped a human princess and keeps her captive in his demonic castle, but thanks to her cunning and skill, she is able to freely roam the castle and force different monsters to do her life in this castle as comfortable and cozy as possible. And the demon king regularly forgives the princess for her pranks and patiently waits for the hero to find the demon castle and save the princess, and he even secretly helps the hero on his journey so that the hero can reach the demon castle as soon as possible.

And "Dusk Howler" is a LitRPG story about the virtual MMORPG game "Trikia", where the great and terrible necromancer Nine (undead), who is the head of the monster guild Dusk Howler and the owner of the black castle Dark Tower, just for fun became a combat mentor for the timid and naive wizard Jaiha (human), who just entered the game in the village for beginners. Jaiha didn't read the instruction for the game, so he regularly gets into dangerous or embarrassing situations because he is the only human in the guild that consists of vampires, werewolves, and other monsters.  read more

In Maoujou de Oyasumi, Syalis is dedicated by any means to get the perfect sleep. She goes through many tactics, and even make her own mechanisms to get better sleep. In Saeki-san wa Nemutteru, Saeki uses an arsenal of tactics to get the comfortable and efficient sleep during class.

Both mangas are very wholesome and funny. The main characters are very innocent and they dont understand a lot of things, which leads to funny misunderstandings.

They both have very similar concepts.
They both use their surroundings to make some good comedy happen.

Both of these stories are from the perspective of small wholesome girls in the demon king's castle. These stories both have the daily going-ons of the demon king's castle, lots of "death" and powerful characters.

Manga: Negative Yuusha to Maou-gun Kanbu

The setting of these two manga are very similar in which they both revolve around a little girl in the demon king’s castle and both are mainly comedy based mangas. Negative Yuusha may he a but of the shorter side but is still a good read.
