I'm gonna do my best to review this manga with as little bias as possible...which may be difficult. So what is Sleepy Princess in a Demon Castle about you might ask? Welp...it's about a Sleepy Princess in a Demon Castle, what you mean? The name literally sums up the synopsis of this whole series. A Princess get's kidnapped by Demon's, and all she wants to do with her time is...find the most random and idiotic ways to help her get to sleep? Hm, interesting...seems like a synopsis like that would get pretty old after a while...heh, you'd think so anyway, but it doesn't. Let's dive

this, in my opinion, is an incredibly underrated gem of a manga that WILL make your day. from unique hilarious characters whos banters always is a blast to read, to the witty comedy both in dialogue and especially expressions, and the visual style of the art that can simultaneously lead to beautiful colour spreads with the authors amazing usage of bright and pretty colours and character designs while also masterfully drawing the most expressive and exaggerated reaction image worthy expressions.
if you want a comedy manga that breaks cliches and makes you laugh through the absurd dialogue and visuals, as well as a just in general ... Mar 28, 2018
I love this manga. Just so funny and adorable while also somehow managing to have a horror side it.
The Princess is great in this. Just how oblivious she is to the stuff around her is great. I do kind of wish she had a bit more common sense. But oh well. I do like how the princess has pretty much made everyone in the Demon Kingdom a subject to her. Like how in the human world everyone adores her and in this everyone really dislikes it when she's gone and it's quite. I'm glad they're taking the piss out of the ' Hero" I normally ... Jul 15, 2019
This story is a recent favorite of mine. It has this very charming and funny atmosphere that I just really enjoy and the princess goal of a relaxing sleep is something I can’t help but love.
All of the characters are funny and interesting and the level of the comedy and highjinks fluctuates nicely to keep the story enjoyable. The story manages to add new details and plot points but never gets to complicated or heavy making for something to read when you just want to relax and have a good chuckle. I hope this will get an anime adaptation at some point because it ... Sep 24, 2020
Maou-Jou De Oyasumi is worth a read. The jokes are funny, the art is good, the characters are believable, and the story is fine. Maou-Jou De Oyasumi starts off strong and continued to hold my attention for a good while. That being said, I did also drop it at chapter 69. The problem with this manga comes in around chapter 40ish, where the jokes start becoming stale. The same concepts are starting to be reused and I got bored, which is a huge problem in a comedy manga. And considering the jokes and gags are what the manga is trying to sell you, it's around

Maoujou de Oyasumi is the type of series where the manga's better than the anime just for how the material fits the manga medium. Maoujou de Oyasumi features quick, fun scenarios about our Princess. The anime adaptation isn't exactly terrible. In fact, the production quality is quite nice, and it was pretty cool to see everything in color and animation. That being said, the anime makes certain scenes last too long, and as a result, the pacing isn't that great. Something that was only 10 pages gets dragged on for 12 minutes in the anime. This, paired with the fact that the series has its

TLDR: Not anything special, but is cute enough to keep the demons away! (Internal and external)
Sleepy Princess in the Demon Castle is a manga that is cute, fun, and perfect for readers who are looking for a light-hearted escape from their demons. The story follows Syalis, a kidnapped princess who is more interested in getting a good night's sleep than trying to escape from her captors. Although quickly repetitive, her quest to create a comfortable sleeping environment leads to her exploring the many floors of the demon kings castle, creating many humorous situations and interactions with the demons who have taken her captive. The manga's art ... Apr 9, 2020
This series is a disappointment. Despite being a fantasy comedy which I usually like the narrow concept of sleeping lead the story toward forced and awkward conditions. The repetitive pattern of sleeping gear(which is not much, thus forced 'sleeping gear'), sleeping disturbance, and some unrelated-to-sleep-theme makes the series boring and losing focus.
The overly egoistical princess do not help making the series a better comedy. The relationship between the princess and the other characters (yes monsters and even the hero) is one dimensional. The moment a new character appear, that is the aha moment when you think "this is another victim for the princess". Yes new ... |
