This is a spin-off story of the original "My Next Life as a Villainess: All Routes Lead to Doom!", depicting a scenario of what if Katarina regained the memories of her previous life much later in life as opposed to getting them as a child. As the title "On the Verge of Doom" suggests, prior to regaining her memories, she has been diligently acting as the villainess of that story and magnificently souring relations with some of the characters we encounter. All of which will eventually lead to her "Doom" if nothing is done. Now that she has regained her memories and upon realising how
...
precariously close she is to her destruction, this is a story on what she does to avert her destruction. But of course Katarina being the same Bakarina we know and love from the previous story, what she does to avert her destruction would be strangely familiar to us, albeit slightly different. We get to see her get up to her usual antics and also see how she forms her bonds with her friends in the original story all over again albeit slightly differently. New characters not seen in the original story are also introduced giving the story are more unique flavour. People who enjoyed the original story and haven't had enough of Bakarina and Co. and their antics would likely enjoy this spin-off too.

A bittersweet story about an orphaned girl who has lost her only brother, and her brothers wife, who is now a widow.
Throughout the story the manga explores themes such as dealing with the loss of someone, as well as opening up to other people. We see that the both Shino and Nozomi rely on each other somewhat following the death of her brother. Shino can see Nozomi as a sisterly figure, whilst Nozomi clings onto a connection to her deceased husband. At the same time they worry about what each other truly thinks of them, and worry about burdening each other. As the story
...
progresses we see how their relationship changes, how they know each other better; but we also see that they are constantly haunted by the feeling of loss.
The story is generally sweet, following their daily lives, but occasionally there are darker tones, such as when they are reminded of their loss or when they worry about each other.
This story does not contain Yuri; however there are occasionally parts which can be interpreted as hints of Yuribait.

A story about characters playing Virtual Reality games, wanting to be someone else. The characters play as the opposite gender and act as a different individual. In a sense, this manga portrays the disparity of the virtual world and real life. Many of us would escape reality in the world of games so we can be someone else, someone with the qualities which we ourselves wished to have.
A bit of drama is involved as it is revealed that the main characters know each other in real life, and is unaware of each other's identities. The girl in fact is mean to he boy in
...
many occasions without thinking of the consequences of her actions. When the girl realises his identity, she needed to come to terms with the horrible way she had been treating the person she loves.
There is also a supernatural element involved, where the characters become their virtual characters in real life and can use their powers. This is ultimately unexplained as the manga is cut short.

The story follows Shirahime Kanata who is born with androgynous features and is often mistaken as a girl. His mother reveals herself as a magical girl and passes her job to her son to go on a vacation.
Initially against this, he eventually comes to term with his powers, getting to know new friends and also discovering more about the magical enemies he is facing.
However it seems the manga was cut short. It is as if characters were given opportunities in the future to be fleshed out but this cancelled, ultimately leaving behind cardboard cutouts of characters. The story came to an abrupt end,
...
but still managed to bring about a satisfactory end to a certain extent.

The story follows Yoshida Koume, a commoner that managed to get into a school for the wealthy kids. As a commoner, she naturally stands out in the sea of people and soon catches the attention of the "prince" of the school, after accidentally witnessing the prince eating a boxed lunch in the toilets, alone. Taking an interest in her, the prince tries to get to know her, and the "commoner" lifestyle more, much to the surprise of many others. Needless to say this greatly troubles her.
As we see more of their interactions we see more into the circumstances of the two. The prince may
...
have everything, but he eventually grows tired and lonesome. Yoshida Koume on the other hand wants a normal school life, which is hard to achieve after getting involved with the prince and garnering the jealousy of many others. Though, with that said, this story is a love comedy and is enjoyable to read. It is cute seeing the interaction of Yoshida Koume and the prince, who lacks common sense in many cases.

This manga is a spin-off of the parent story Tate no Yuusha no Nariagari, focusing instead on the adventures of the spear hero which occurs at some point in the main story. As such, this story to a certain extent requires some prior knowledge on the parent story otherwise it could be a confusing mess. Whilst the manga does try to explain things to the reader in case they have never read the parent story, the experience fall short without prior knowledge.
As this is a spin-off of a future event in the parent story (Or at least it's in the Webnovel version of the
...
parent story; and since the Light Novel version and Webnovel version diverge from the Cal Mira island arc I do not know how this Spin-off will fit in), it may potentially spoil some events of the parent story. Whilst the effect is minor, it may be better to read this manga after finishing the parent story.
(Contains very minor spoilers)
The story of this spin-off itself isn't spectacular. It follows the spear hero Motoyasu Kitamura, who has gained the ability to turn back time with a special spear and returns to the beginning of their adventure. Him, knowing the future events takes action to change the future. However, due to the events of the events of the parent story Motoyasu has become a broken man, slightly psychologically unstable in a sense, something this manga doesn't portray well enough. As such, his memories are a little messed up (also due to the time travelling, as shown in the manga). As a result he doesn't take the best course of action or find solutions to problems using wisdom and knowledge of the future like other time-travelling/new game/restart stories like Re:Zero, All You Need Is Kill, Steins;Gate etc. Instead he acts very spontaneously like a madman, which may annoy many readers. In the Webnovel, him acting like a madman was actually fun to see to a certain extent, something this manga failed to replicate. Motoyasu also kept his abilities from the future, making him stronger than most people in this manga. However the way the manga shows his power is not satisfying enough. Though understandably, Motoyasu does not care about his powers at this point due to him becoming mad. As you read the manga you start to understand more about the conditions and the situation he is in, such as why he is back in time, the conditions of the reset etc.
The art is alright, but not better than the parent story. As for character development there is next to none and would require the reader to already have sufficient knowledge on the characters (The manga only explains the bare minimum about these characters). Whilst not an exceptional spin-off it is still something fans of the original series would enjoy.

Our main character Yuuya Kamigasaki is a seemingly normal high school student, however he is also known to have the tendency to open unlocked doors and drawers. It is no surprise that one day he is told that he will reincarnate into another world as a hero. Don't all RPG heroes open every door, drawer and chest etc to get all the loot? And so the princess from another world tell him he can reincarnate in another world as a hero. Sounds cool right?
However there is a twist and spoilers ahead. (Spoiler is only for until Chapter 3)
What she didn't tell him is that
...
he needs to die; It's reincarnation after all, how can you reincarnate when you are still alive and well on Earth? And so in an epic twist the princess is trying to get him killed to be reborn in another world. As the chaos ensues the demon lord comes over as well, for the purpose of protecting Yuuya Kamigasaki from dying and preventing him from reincarnating. Suddenly the good guys are the bad guys and the bad guys are the good guys.
Oh, there is also a childhood friend involved and a lot of plot.

This is a story about an elf made to be a sacrifice to a monster due to her debt left behind by her father. The monster spat her out and refused to eat her since she tasted disgusting. The comedy ensues as the elf, feeling like her pride is somewhat damaged, tries to make herself taste better using various methods to no avail. As such, this isn't a story about an elf that doesn't want to be eaten and a monster that eats people, but rather an elf that is trying to get herself eaten and a monster that seriously doesn't want to eat her
...
(Because she tastes awful). We see that the monster is very much like a Shut-In, playing games etc and the elf is just bothering him with her frequent visits. But the monster put up with her, and at some point the reader would think "Aren't they good buddies at this point?". Apart from their comedic interactions we only see the villagers (Who are Acorns. Living, breathing, talking acorns) and a few other characters. It's a rather unique story that you can lose yourself in for a good laugh.

This is a slice of life comedic story about a reincarnated girl who is an airhead, trying to avoid the "destruction flags" whilst accidentally changing the game scenario and befriending everyone.
As the name suggests, Katarina has reincarnated in a game where she is a villainess and will experience destruction should any of the game scenarios come true. Determined to prevent this she starts working on countermeasures. Problem is, she is kind of an airhead, so the countermeasures she come up with aren't realistically viable. However, she has a bubbly, cheerful and carefree nature, different from the villain in the game scenario who was cruel
...
and will make the heroine suffer. Unknowingly she starts befriending everyone and they all get caught up in her pace as a result.
The manga can feel a bit rushed at times, with many details omitted or watered down compared to the novel, but of course this is a common occurrence with all adaptions and in this case doesn't detract from the enjoyment that can be gained from this manga. Most of the story is in Katarina's' perspective but we also witness it from other characters point of view and we can clearly see how Katarina has influenced their lives for the better (Which is very sweet and wholesome).
The art is good and this story is comparatively different from other Isekai genres which is quite refreshing. Even when there are many similar stories of the "Reincarnated as a villainess" trope, this one still stands out from the rest. Recommended for anyone looking for some good laughs.

This manga does not really depict a case of the Stockholm Syndrome.
Below contains some spoilers to explain why this manga isn't depicting a case of the Stockholm Syndrome, which would understandably put many people off. If you don't want to see any spoilers go to TLDR.
The girls life has been bad; So bad that she get's abused by her parents at home, her teacher and her fellow students at school. She doesn't even have a lot common sense, such as the knowledge on the existence of a pause function on videos online due to her circumstances. Being "Kidnapped" meant she is more happy than
...
when she was not kidnapped. And this isn't even proper kidnapping. The girl can probably run away at anytime; she isn't confined to a room, nor is she chained. The "kidnapper" is kind to her, cooks her meals, let's her watch TV and even takes her out sometimes. Moreover when you hear the word "kidnapping", you'll probably think of a person forcefully shoving another person in the back of a truck. This was not how she was kidnapped. In other words, this isn't proper kidnapping so don't get a preconceived idea that this is a manga depicting a case of Stockholm Syndrome since this manga doesn't actually show it. A real case of the Stockholm Syndrome is a lot more messed up.
What this manga actually shows is someone showing kindness to a girl that has had a really unfortunate life and this girl finally experience what happiness is. Throughout the manga you learn more about the girls circumstances and a tiny glimpse into the life of the kidnapper, though it's still mostly shrouded in mystery. We see that their relationship is a complicated one, with both of them having their fair share of troubles.
TLDR;
In summary, just see this manga as a slice of life manga about a girl experiencing happiness for the first time in her life from someone, meanwhile the manga delves deeper into their circumstances.
