In these two publications, delinquents are subjected to teachers who are determined to change their lives for the better. Both teachers teach their students important life lessons.

Both are sports series that track the passion-fueled progress of an up-and-coming team with delinquent tendencies, with more than their fair share of humour and awesomeness. In a vaguer kind of way, they both have the same reader-involving '90s Shonen Jump vibe that makes a series unforgettable.

Both manga include hardworking guy who wants to aim for Koshien. Then there is the thing about an incident that happened years back that made them quit baseball and become just gangsters, but then later comes to the club again.

Shonan Junai Gumi (Young GTO for many), is in many ways similar to Rookies; even if one is based on sports (baseball) and the other much more on school life, they both emphasize the role of dreams, and achievements. Most of the characters are yankees, who'll even turn into hard-working guy, with a lot of charisma. Both mangas promote the strength of friendship or team spirit, and each have awesome fights. Drawings are quite similar, even though I appreciated the design in Rookies more than in YGTO (which is crappy for 10 tankobons).

these are both really good coming of age stories about delinquents and misfits finding their places in a sport/hobby that they grow to love and take seriously, the artsyles are also very similar and impressive to look at it, they bring a very similar vibe to an already similar story. I think anyone who enjoys one of these will enjoy the other, they're almost 1 to 1 with different sports and a different cast.

While one is about basketball and the other is about baseball their main characters are very similar in the way they influence others around them. The game scenes get your heart pumping and it makes you always cheer along with i. These are one of my favorite sports mangas and Iim sure if you like Rookies you are going to love this one. :)>  read more

Both are different sports but similar story. A coach comes in to change the sports club which is being torn apart and the delinquents are being reformed to save the club. Will the coach be able to turn around these individuals or is this it for the club?

Both series explore the introduction of strong-willed teachers into the lives of troubled teenagers.

Delinquents. Funny ones at that! Both Rookies and Worst have main characters that love to fight and are highly short tempered. Yet in both manga it shows these 'problem children' aiming for a goal and working to achieve it.

Both has a charismatic teacher as protagonist, who knows very well how difficult could be a student's life, not to mention, that for them even a deliquent is a precious kid...

Like many highschool baseball manga, these two both show the trials and tribulations of a baseball team with aims to go the Koshien. However the main protagonist for both of these manga isn't your typical member of the baseball team, it is the coach! Both manga focus on the work of a new coach entering a school with previous highschool baseball glory and turning the unambitious teams into successful baseball teams striving their hardest for Koshien fame through their on respective methods.
