You shouldn't be discouraged by the gender bender factor, because its only there for the major comedic effect. The manhua deals with a game world, and has good action scenes. I'd say it is a cross between shounen and shoujo manga with well paced action, and just enough romance to not turn it sappy. You see great character development while enjoying the awesome comedy that is bound to make you laugh in every single chapter. The interactions between the many different and unique characters make for a great story. Ofcourse i must mention here that the story is brilliant!. If you pick ... it up.. I'm pretty sure you won't regret it.

Overall i give the story a 10/10 . I would have given it a 9 considering how lucky Feng Lan is, but high "Luck" is simply a part of her that even other characters acknowledge. Art is very nice in my opinion, enjoyment would be 10/10 since i was laughing through every chapter i've read so far. I definately recommend it if you like action adventure stories with semi shoujo amount of romance

Well, I didn't expect much seeing how this is the first manhua I've read, but, 1/2 Prince actually turned out to be my 2nd favorite read. Manhua, manga, manhwa~ They are all the same, really =P. Anyways, 1/2 Prince is outstanding and I'll tell you why.

I gave the story a 10 because, well, it appealed to me at least. I like the whole virtual world thing and the strong female character, Feng Lan. She has a 19 year old twin brother who really doesn't think a girl can be good at a video game. She is angered by this ... and actually ends up being the first person to play the virtual reality game, "Second Life". It is supposed to be 99% like real life, and you actually get to look like how you look in real life. Feng Lan is the first to sign into the game and therefore, gets to have a special wish from a so called NPC. She finds out that this NPC isn't really an NPC but a secret moderator for the game. Feng Lan asks to become a male in the game because she doesn't want her brother to know it's her. The NPC grants her wish, making her the only gender bender in the game, and the excitement continues from there. She becomes stronger, meets people from her college, and makes a lot of interesting friends XD. There is comedy, action, and even a little romance kicked in there. This is why I think 1/2 Prince is outstanding O< It is, overall, definitely above average.

The characters...wow. They are fun, they develop, they can be violent, they can be funny, they can be serious, they can be scary. All of them are unique and loveable. I don't think there is one character that I can truly hate.

The plot is enjoyable as you are constantly watching Feng Lan, AKA "Prince" in the game try to keep her identity a secret from her real life. She also becomes a leader in the game and has to be strong for all her followers and friends. She is Prince, but at the same time, she is Feng Lan. It gets pretty crazy after a while.

Overall, 1/2 Prince gets a 10. Skip Beat was before the only one I could give a 10 to, but 1/2 Prince deserves one too.

The cool and perfect prince who fights mercilessly and bloody.. and won the hearts of majority females and some males.. is actually a girl who can't read map, and drools at the sight of food.

The artwork of this manga not really fantastic, but it's the story that matters. I've read the completed novel at least 3 times, and it never get boring, so you can be certain of it. Maybe the artwork will get better as it goes..

If you are looking for a story that keeps you laughing... this is the one to read.

This is my first review - and probably my only review, it might be kind of rough but you get the idea.

When i saw the synopsis of the manga, I immediately thought of the Maplestory anime and what a fail that turned out to be. At first, I thought 1/2 would be a fail of a similar nature. I was so wrong. Even though it is orientated in an imaginary world, the world of second life is one that seems unbounded by any restrictions. Everything that goes on in the manga never fails to surprise me and make me burst ... out laughing. The tags on the manga are absolutely right.

I don't see much of a story in this. It pretty much goes along with whatever happens, but the mangaka manages to make every event important enough to grasp your attention. As you go further into the story. you can sometimes stop, take a step back, and realize how absurd everything that happens in the manga is but flows right into the story at the same time. It takes an already extraordinary storyline of a comedy/romance/fantasy manga and spices it up with MMORPG elements. The spontaneity of the plot reminds me so much of that of One Piece. I can even imagine that this manga might rival one piece if more attention was given to it.

The characters themselves are what made me enjoy the manga the most. They are just ridiculous. They manage to make every situation hilarious, their relations in the real world in contrast to those in the virtual world always gets me laughing whenever something surprising happens (no spoilers!). They are all original in their own way, and there are minimal cliches in the story and in their actions (thank god!). All I can say is that while this manga focuses on comedy, it is a work of art that can be enjoyed by everyone.

This is about future game world where you can feel what happen in the game. (i do wonder that is it ok to not in real world but it's ok to eat in the game world and survive)the main girl &quot;Prince&quot; (in the game) is the 1st one to change it's gender in the game, only people who knows about this is herself, lolidragon, gamestaff, and her brother Which has chiness name in the game which i don bother to remember.

When Prince changed ... it's gender to male and made it self 30% beutify it made her the most handsome person in the game world.

So basicaly, it's about game world and 1st ever gender changer, and haveing an adventure. i Hope this reveiw was helpful

The first thing I remember when think about this series is that it always cracks me up. The characters all mesh well together and the crazy situations that they get into are downright hilarious. The art is incredible in this manga, and I am hoping for an anime :)
This was one of the best mangas I have ever read it has all the makings of my definition of a great shojo: comedy, gender-bender, adventure, bishies, lovely love plot, and great art.
My only complaint is that I have yet to find a retailer of the English version *-*

I rated this as a 9 not really because its the best made manga ever but because i enjoy it more than most manga i've read. This is probably my 2nd favorite story. I have only read the ending thorough once so far and really need to re-read those chapters because I struggled getting through them. The premise is much lighter than most of these vr game stories and the 12th night/gender bender comedy is generally kept pretty funny. The characters were charming, and even the antagonists, once we got to know them, were likeable and understandable. Its unusual for many ... stories to turn antagonists into protagonists, so it was very nice to see here. The art isn't amazing. the story isn't ground breaking, but the characters and the story together are just charming and delightful. It made the whole thing a feel good story way better than its peers.

I have to admit, I was completely blown away by this manga. This has nothing of the sappy, constricting story lines that shoujo manga usually have (no offense to all the shoujo lovers out there). It's a gender bender series in which the main girl pretends to be a male player in a virtual reality game called Second Life, and she engages in battles, quests, adventures, etc. The art is amazing, the storyline well-developed, and the characters are all unique. There is no other manga that I've found so far that are quite like this one in the scope of its imagination or its depth. ... It's a pity that it's still ongoing, but this manga deserves a perfect ten in all the criteria. It's definitely a must read for everybody out there. =.=

This was actually my very first manhwa, and at first I had no clue it even was one. It reads right to left just like any other manga, and I could tell something was different, but I couldnt place it.

Story-10: Now that everyone has seen SAO, the concept of virtual RPG worlds seem pretty ordinary. However, the plot is far from something you've seen before. Feng is a stubborn girl with an annoying twin brother who is constantly ridiculing her for not being his equal because shes female. So when the new virtual game comes out, her mind is set on showing her brother ... whats what. Even though changing your sex is usually forbidden in the virtual world, for some reason the admin makes an exception, and she starts her 'Second Life' journey. The plot is action packed and rimmed with laughs, and the romance that should be forbidden in more ways than one, cant be contained. Every chapter pulls you farther and farther in, the romance moves pretty slow at times but you will barely even notice.

Art-9: The characters are adorable at times and gorgeous at others. There are massive builds and interesting designs for creatures and armor. The art is well drawn and not sloppy, the only thing its a little lacking in at times are details. The art can be very simple at times and very massive at others. This only adds to the atmosphere of this unique manhwa and draws you in even further.

Character-9: Theres lots of mystery and drama in each character thats introduced, and the farther into the story you read, the more you learn about the characters around Feng. Some people may be easily recognized by their personalities in a virtual world, but there are times when enemies can be friends, and friends can be enemies.

Enjoyment-10: I cant say there was anything about this manga that I didnt enjoy! I was constantly caught up in the plot and entranced by the drama. Its a read you cant help get addicted to, and the suspense really threatens your sanity ;)

Overall-10: I was tempted to score this as a 9 since it doesnt have 'everything' that your looking for in a manga so to speak. But honestly I enjoyed this manga so much and im really looking forward to the rest of the chapters. So that being said, this has a little something for everyone. A shounen feel to satisfy younger readers, that forbidden romance to sate the hunger of romance chasers, and the intense plot that intrigues anyone looking for that not-so-average gem that you cant quite put down....

its a taiwanese manhwa based on a novel... so i admit @ 1st i was a bit skeptical abt hw a manhwa adaptation would be like... but my worries were unfounded.

is really quite balanced in the way tt both female and male audiences can seriously enjoy it (: i'm not sure if i'm a bit more bias to shonen or not (even tho i'm a girl), but wateva... its good.

for guys, the action is good and battle scenes are quite clean, the girls look nice too (sorry, not exactly a guy so cant do good 'guy' analysis)...

for girls, there're the bishie hot guys to drool ... and sparkle over XDD and they DO hav their moments of pure hot-ness tt u just go "HOMG. SO HOT/SO COOL' and then sigh :D

for both guys and girls however (and this is the best pt) there's the BEST EVER BLEND of ACTION AND HUMOUR. the humour is really awesome and can make u go laughing like mad/facepalming to the max. couldnt stop smiling thruout the whole read! kept wacking the table cos couldnt control laughter... and then the nxt moment its all serious and 'cool-like' b4 the atmostphere goes back to a humourous tone again.

the storyline is interesting and unique and got me hooked on extremely quick. i havent read the novels, but aft reading the manhwa, i really cant wait to the try out the novels XD

ah. i guess one troublesome point i should note would be the way the characters and named. as most of the time the storyline is in a GAME, everyone goes by 'usernames' and therefor i find it a little difficult to rmr the side characters and their names. especially since their actual names are in chinese, its hard.

but all in all, this series is definitely 100% no-doubt-about-it awesome series.

One word: BISHIES. If you don't like 'em, then don't read this.

As an avid RPG player, I loved the concept. It actually reminds me alot of the Dragon Quest games. I personally enjoyed the artwork alot, it's not too realistic. I've gotten tons of laughs and enjoyment from it, and it's the first anime/manga that I wanted to do a review on, so I'd reccomend you to take a look at it.

Wow, this one of the best manga's i have picked up and read. The story board is fresh and interesting there are all these plot twist that kinda keep you guessing until the next chapter comes out. I love all the unique characters and how they interact together, even the bad ones you are suppose to hate. They feel real flaws and all. Don't let the Gender-bender twist fool you. Its mostly there for comic relief and adds a twist to the story about true reality, relationships and our gender based perceptions of people. The comedy is all top-notch. A must read for all you ... Gamers out there.
I was kind of upset that Wicked dies in the game in the episode. I know they don't truly die in real life only their character is deleted in the game, but the feeling of death/seperation is there. i really liked him he was the one who really looked after her with no true alterior motive behind it. Wicked/Zhou Gege stated he had come to respected the person she had become in the game, but he still missed the way she was before, hiding behind him dependant upon him for protection. While Gui on the other hand has truly fallen in love with Prince, though he is not gay, and rejects Xiao lan in Real Life whose alter ego is Prince. What a pair of utter fools. One who has always known her, knows her true identity and refuses to love her as she is. The other who has fallen for her in game persona and rejects her in real life. I wonder which one she is going to choose?

First things' first just have to say that i love the pet's *Meatbun is sooooooo cute!!!!!!!
10 - for the story
this story is funny, and will keep you entertained until the next chapter. the plot isn't too complicated and while there's the whole sexual change on the main character the entire situation of the "keeping it a secret" just make's this magna all the more enjoyable.
9- for the art
the art is great but i guess in my personal opinion the only this that could make this manga better is changing it into an anime haha
9 - for the character
the character development isn't very good as ... far as i have seen... hopefully they mature latter on. the character relationships aren't so overpowering that they make you feel grossed out but they focus on more of the comic side of love/ temporary love/ life all of that stuff ( although now saying this i remember that all the characters seem to be infatuated with getting married with people... i don;t know what that's about.)

I really like the manga. I flew through the entire manga in 2 days. I really liked the pacing and the action scenes and how Feng Lan/Prince is not afraid to kill. She didn't need to be saved unlike many other heroines. I especially loved the gender bender aspect. She is not bound by the gender norms. Even when she's a girl in real life she's awesome and others respect her. When the "homo" characters are shown, the other characters don't really think bad of it. It was a 10/10 for me.....until chapter 70.

As I read everyone continuing on their lives after the final battle, ... I thought "Ah, another great series ended." I felt so empty in my heart so I was kinda happy that there was more chapters but I also didn't want to continue after that perfect ending. But nevertheless I continued. Bad Decision!! I didn't need to see Wicked who is 45 or something being forced to marry his past love's daughter who's 15 years old. The 200 year lifespan is the laziest excuse ever. This is the thing that ruined Twilight all over again. If the author or the fans don't want to see Wicked alone, he can meet someone who's compatible to him, who's closer to his age and someone he could relate to. Not some bratty little girl who can't tell the difference between childhood silly crushes and actual romantic love.
So for me, anything beyond chapter 70 doesn't exist. I've completely erased
everything after chapter 70 from my mind.

But the story is good, the art is awesome, characters are lovable with the right amount of annoying. Definitely an enjoyable read.
