Good concept, amazing graphics and music. Awful execution.
Believe me when I say you will enjoy the journey but HATE the destination. While I was watching I felt, "Hey this could give Disney films a run for their money", the graphics is amazing, the music was enchanting. I felt for the characters..... Until.... yes until they brought out the belle and the beast nonsense. Yes this awful rehash of beauty and the beast concept was the worst thing that happened to this film. If it continued as a coming of age and finding your true self movie, despite being a little cliche, it would have ... ended perfectly.

But some writer, up his own ass, thought they had to create a fancy "original" twist with a heartwarming message. In the process, introduced a thousand plot holes and a cowardly and gross interpretation of how to deal with domestic abuse. The conclusion was so gross it left a bad taste in my mouth despite the magical atmosphere I was engrossed in literally 10 mins before the end of the movie.

So I will say this. Watch it, watch it because the journey is amazing. But know that the destination is utter and complete nonsense and a huge disappointment.

Part 1 started strong and ended strong. Part 2 was just as strong but in all the wrong ways. Gone is the tension, the interaction between FL and ML, strong character development, interaction and fight scenes. Instead you have a regular shounen rom com atmosphere that randomly and suddenly turns gory in a very non impressive way, making you think that this anime hired an extremely incompetent screenwriter. This isn't even the worst part. the worst part is the unwanted, disgusting lolicon fanservice.

Yes you heard that right, is this seinen? I guess seinen means the now 50 year old audience of Japanese vegetables ejaculating to ... 2D children. So obviously seinen demography needs a gratuitiously useless, screen time wasting, loli in the form of Frederica. If you think about it in the 5 episodes I've watched, literally nothing happened other than a stock tsundere loli with a terrible, gratingly obnoxious voice wasting screen time. Yet another good anime going straight in the garbage can.

I'm growing old on anime, I can you tell whether an anime is bad within first 10 minutes. And this is no different. 1st scene bro-con, second scene 1 male surrounded by a huge bunch of females? Alright, come on, I mean how bad can it be?

Busty glasses girl - check
Soft spoken doormat with long black hair - check
tomboy - check
irritating squeeky loli who is always blushing - check
A whole gaggle of girls, and cast is nearly 100% girls - check
Everyone blushing at male lead - check

If these cliches weren't enough, add an OP MC, the unnecessary bro-con, (whether or not they're blood-related ... doesn't matter). You can immediately tell this anime is made for 40-year-old incels with an "onii chan" fetish and very young virgins, in need for some power fantasy, and some fresh faces (?) for rule 34. Then again the art is SO generic, they might well have recycled names from other animes as well.

Action? What action, the entire anime is busy doing an exposition of these above uninteresting character at all times and any action that could have potentially happened gets compressed into like 2 seconds, because you know... OP main character.

Of course, after two episodes I regretted not having read the reviews and lo and behold it's as banal and crappy as I thought. The gushing reviews, if you can read between the lines coming from the same demography that I mentioned above.

Voice
I would have watched more before reviewing, but my god, the voice acting is so bad. That A-chan literally makes me want to puke.

Deceptively BAD. This is mindless fluff.

Shoujo. A vital piece of information missing from MAL's description of the series. The sypnosis, first episode and overall feel of the first episode will have you expecting a dark survival anime. But fear not! This is an anime for 12 year old girls who like to sit in a circle and discuss each other's first love, play house, and literally do everything a female child considers fun.

There is no sense of suspense, thrill or ANY ounce of danger in any of the episodes. Because god forbid if its scary the children might not want to watch it! If ... something remotely scary ever does happen, there is always someone to kiss your boo boo. Within a few episodes you will realise that this poor excuse of an anime should have been a generic middle school rom com where a group of boys and girls discuss their emotions and feelings and live happily ever after, once they've decided their romantic pairs.

The entire survival thing is bullshit. The author doesn't know how to write action or adventure. She copy pasted typical survival anime premise for episode 1, that is it, rest of it is shitty shoujo bullshit. Everything you see is a typical attribute of an inept female author. World building is a disappointment. The plot is a disappointment. Literally only thing going for this anime is the decent animation.

If you want to watch a survival anime where kids discuss emotions, trauma AND there is PROPER survival aspects, try Mayoiga.

This is a hidden gem and a very good dark fantasy anime. If you liked made in abyss you will like this. (Not recommended for children who want action every 2 minutes.)

Story: Fantastic world building, plot twists, and the sweet pacing of the story will blow you away. The sinister undertone is built up so well, each episode and each new clue you will be trying to work out and theorise why everything seems suspicious.

Art: Very unique. I loved it.

Sound: Perfectly executed. Even the song "Going Home" sounding sweet and everything, adds to the atmosphere. Overall soundtrack is spot on!

Characters: Let's just say, if ... you made any assumptions about any character from your knowledge of anime or japan, you will be wrong. Everything in this anime in unique. There are literally no stock characters.

Enjoyment: This is one of my favorite anime.

Reasons you should watch this anime:
1. Moderately entertaining and short enough you can finish in 2 sessions when you are really bored. Then forget it existed completely.

Reasons you should not watch the animes:
1. extremely poor voice acting, MC sounds like poorly paid amateur. And fit to voice a stupid side character than the main lead.
2. MC has no personality, no flaws, nothing interesting about him. Just more power than everyone else, more attention, etc etc. This seems to be a recurring theme in chinese anime. They simply don't know how to write a human being. Only some 5 year old kid's idea of a hero. ... Everyone's praising the MC every 2 seconds, you'd get sick of it really fast. You would think after years of naruto, bleach, the new hero academia series, they would pick up on the formula to a flawed shounen hero who has to work to get power and fame. Or noblesse / overlord type series where MC is OP, but focus and time of the show is on weaker characters he protects from the shadows.
3. Animation Quality - i personally forgave this because I know chinese studios won't have the nice budget that Japanese established studios do, but still the action scenes are pretty bland in terms of animation and you have to use your imagination if you want to keep watching.
5. Music and Sound - cheese, over the top and unnecessary.
4. Subtitles : [for non chinese speakers] whoever did this is probably THE WORST subber in anime translation world. And i don't mean the translation. Every 2 seconds there's an irrelevant comment that has nothing to do with the show. Every 2 mins you break immersion and just wanna strangle whoever left those immature and unnecessary comments splayed all over the anime.

You shouldn't be discouraged by the gender bender factor, because its only there for the major comedic effect. The manhua deals with a game world, and has good action scenes. I'd say it is a cross between shounen and shoujo manga with well paced action, and just enough romance to not turn it sappy. You see great character development while enjoying the awesome comedy that is bound to make you laugh in every single chapter. The interactions between the many different and unique characters make for a great story. Ofcourse i must mention here that the story is brilliant!. If you pick ... it up.. I'm pretty sure you won't regret it.

Overall i give the story a 10/10 . I would have given it a 9 considering how lucky Feng Lan is, but high "Luck" is simply a part of her that even other characters acknowledge. Art is very nice in my opinion, enjoyment would be 10/10 since i was laughing through every chapter i've read so far. I definately recommend it if you like action adventure stories with semi shoujo amount of romance

Though this seems like a "i love my sister so much" type of mushy shoujo manga, it is actually dark and sinister. The protagonist in trying to live the life of her sister is thrown into a strange classroom with creepy classmates that are all too perfect. She has no one she can trust or rely on, even the ones that seem trustworthy might turn out to be her worst enemy. So far it feels like a horror movie... I cant comment on the romance yet but in terms of mystery i will say that this is recommended

This shoujo Manwha sweeps up all the shoujo protagonist cliches and throws them out of the window. If you are getting tired of the meek likable naive main character and the dashing prince to the rescue story, this is the perfect medicine. In this story both the main characters have rather unique personalities. And you get the perpective of the boy as well as the girl.
The main character is in short made to be hated. You will hate her for most part of the story, but that is exactly what the author intends.
The main character is neither personality wise "lovely" nor especially cute compared ... to her peers, and this is the fun part, the manga isn't about her struggling, its about the guy struggling to get his feelings across to a rather brash and sometimes slow girl.
The art is good, and there is enough eye candy for you to enjoy the bishe side of it. there is plenty of comedy, and i would say that the story gets a high mark from me for originality. And believe me i have read A LOT of shoujos.
Another interesting part was how the author showed the reality of the "pretty boys", that they aren't perfect princes personality wise
