If you like gore and violence, you'll like Tokyo Ghoul. If you like vampires (more on the violent side than the dramatic side, but still pretty), you'll like Tokyo Ghoul. If you like zombies, you'll like Tokyo Ghoul. In my personal opinion, "ghouls" in this anime are a mix of the two, which surprisingly, turned out to be a cool and unique concept.
Story: I started watching the anime two days ago, and I finished it today. Going into it, I didn't know much aside that it may be "zombie-like" and that it is a very popular anime of this season. The story and
...
plot are fast-paced, and there is consistent action throughout each and every episode. As most of the supernatural concepts used in the anime are not something completely new and original, I'm giving the story an 8, but that doesn't mean the show itself isn't great, because, it is for what it is- violent and fun.
Art: The art in this anime is an 8. It's "up to date" and doesn't look like it was made more than 5 years ago, but the character designs are overall fairly simple in my opinion. This however, is not necessarily a bad thing, because it makes all the interesting supernatural elements stand out more. :) The main character is likable because he is so dull and ordinary when starting out, but then, well, exciting plot happens~ Anyway, despite not being the most amazing art out there, it definitely has its moments especially in the fight scenes.
Sound: I was thinking around a 7.5, so I gave it an 8. The sound is good, and the op and ed are pretty good. but nothing outstanding really popped out at me. All the appropriate action scene music sequences are there when they are supposed to be, though. Overall very good sound no major complaints, but again, nothing amazing, either.
Character: The characters are what I really like about this anime. Despite there only being 12 episodes, I feel there was a lot of character development. :) There are also a lot of characters, so I would say it was probably quite difficult to have that without making the anime seem like, "Oh this ep was all character development and no action." It never felt like that; there was always a good mix of the two.
Overall, I really enjoyed this anime and would recommend it to supernatural and action anime fans. There are also some funny moments and plenty of dark humor if you're into that as well.

This review has been edited quite a bit. Ok, first off, this anime does not seem to following the manga closely anymore. Up until ep 13 it was, but after that, who knows where the story will go~
Story 9: The story was so tightly packed into the first three episodes, it felt like I was watching some kind of epic movie. I'll admit the basic plot has been done before, we have all had our share of Son's of Satan, but it still manages to be interesting anyways. Somehow it has that spark which makes it amazingly unique, yet it still
...
includes anime cliches at the same time. The good thing about this show is that you'll know if you like the story just from the first episode.
Although this is true about the first few eps, I can't say it is the same for the rest of the show. Ao no Exorcist is still enjoyable, but the action is far less than it was in those eps. The action did pick up like for example in ep 12, but I can't say it's consistent. Read the manga if this bothers you~
Art 10: The art is perfect for me. Honestly though, it's a matter of opinion. I don't like my characters too bishounen or too muscular. The characters are drawn, for the most part, in between the two (leaning on the bishie side), so I love it.
Sound 10: Sound I love the sound as well. There was appropriate music in the appropriate scenes that's all I can say. When the tragic moments occurred, really sad music played. When they were running/fighting against demons, it was more upbeat. It was well done in my opinion~
Character 10: Characters now this is my favorite out of everything (even though everything is rated the same). Rin, the main character, is not too whiny nor really bad ass. He acts like a normal 15 year old for the most part, although a bit on the bad side until, of course, he finds out he's a demon. The main enemy on the otherside, Satan, is extremely creepy and scary (imo). But this is good because who wants a sappy enemy? At least you know that he won't be one of those villains that switch sides. If you like your main characters not too over the top and your villains totally villainous, this is your show.
Enjoyment 10: I REALLY enjoyed this show. I've been pretty much obsessing over it so much the past few days it's sad haha. Maybe you'll end up the same way, but that won't happen unless you give it a try. Demons and exorcists fighting, that's the basic point, although that's definitely NOT the entire story.
Overall 10: Overall, I love this show. Hopefully it can continue being this good in the future. -edit- I'll admit it does get slow eps 4-8, but as I have read the manga, believe me there is action to come.

Boy of the Female Wolf is about a girl named Eun-soo who disguises herself as a boy. Ever since her mom dumped her with her grandma as a small child, she felt betrayed and that therefore lead to her becoming a "wild child" and dressing up as a boy. She picks fights, and all her friends are boys. They are jealous of her or "him" because she always seems to get the attention from the girls at school. The story starts when Eun-soo lives in Dae-Jeon. She lives there with her grandma until her grandma's health becomes bad and then
...
she is forced by her mom to move to Seoul. After so long, she has to live with her mom and her step dad/ step brother. Eun-soo promises her grandma that she won't fight anyone anymore because of her bad health, but can she really keep that promise? In her new high school, there are boys that are much better at fighting. Eun-soo thought she was all that at her old school, but when she insults one of the toughest boys at her new one, will she really be able to get away with it?
Story: Even if it's cliche, I really like this story. The basic plot deserves an 8.
Art: The art in this story is pretty good. I wouldn't say it's the best, but, I really like it for the most part. 8.5~
Character: The characters are the best part of the story. They make me laugh and I find all of them very enjoyable. ^-^ 9~
Enjoyment: So far, I have really enjoyed the story. I can't wait for the next chapter to be translated! :3
Overall: Overall, this story gets a 9. Despite the story being a bit cliche, the characters make it stand out. I adore Eun-soo and everyone else~:3

Well, I didn't expect much seeing how this is the first manhua I've read, but, 1/2 Prince actually turned out to be my 2nd favorite read. Manhua, manga, manhwa~ They are all the same, really =P. Anyways, 1/2 Prince is outstanding and I'll tell you why.
I gave the story a 10 because, well, it appealed to me at least. I like the whole virtual world thing and the strong female character, Feng Lan. She has a 19 year old twin brother who really doesn't think a girl can be good at a video game. She is angered by this
...
and actually ends up being the first person to play the virtual reality game, "Second Life". It is supposed to be 99% like real life, and you actually get to look like how you look in real life. Feng Lan is the first to sign into the game and therefore, gets to have a special wish from a so called NPC. She finds out that this NPC isn't really an NPC but a secret moderator for the game. Feng Lan asks to become a male in the game because she doesn't want her brother to know it's her. The NPC grants her wish, making her the only gender bender in the game, and the excitement continues from there. She becomes stronger, meets people from her college, and makes a lot of interesting friends XD. There is comedy, action, and even a little romance kicked in there. This is why I think 1/2 Prince is outstanding O< It is, overall, definitely above average.
The characters...wow. They are fun, they develop, they can be violent, they can be funny, they can be serious, they can be scary. All of them are unique and loveable. I don't think there is one character that I can truly hate.
The plot is enjoyable as you are constantly watching Feng Lan, AKA "Prince" in the game try to keep her identity a secret from her real life. She also becomes a leader in the game and has to be strong for all her followers and friends. She is Prince, but at the same time, she is Feng Lan. It gets pretty crazy after a while.
Overall, 1/2 Prince gets a 10. Skip Beat was before the only one I could give a 10 to, but 1/2 Prince deserves one too.

Skip Beat, by far, is the best manga I've read. The story is filled with romance, drama, and huge amounts of suspense. Even if you don't normally like shoujo, I'd recommend at least checking out the first few chapters. Most of my favored anime/manga is shonen, but Skip Beat is the exception to this. If you want to enjoy a new, original storyline, Skip Beat is the manga for you! Maybe it seems like some frilly, girly story from the cover, but seriously, give it a chance!
Story-10~
The story gets a 10 because it's filled with nonstop action, romance, drama, suspense,
...
and plot twists! *taken from Wikipedia* ( Skip-Beat! is about Kyoko Mogami, a wistful yet cheery sixteen year-old girl who loves her childhood friend, Shotaro, but is cruelly betrayed and thus seeks revenge against him.) Instead of crying over her heart being broken though, she takes a step up and decides to fight back. He can't just treat her like this! She was practically his maid for years, only wanting love, and then Sho ditches her like she's nothing and goes to his fangirls like nothing happened. He is popular in show business/singing and therefore, doesn't need her anymore. Sho pretty much dragged her all the way to Tokyo from Kyoto, just to use her and ruin her life! Kyoko goes into acting to try and outshine him so that he will see that she isn't going to be his weak, love-seeking maid anymore.
Art-8~
The art is pretty good, but definitely isn't the best. Even so, it's bearable and shouldn't interfere with the story too much. Despite having bad points, there's good points with the art too like the eyes and the facial expressions. It definitely gets anyways.
Character-10~
As for characters, they deserve a 10. Skip Beat's characters all have unique personalities which draw you in even more than the story does. Without the characters, Skip Beat would honestly just be another boring shoujo (well ok no but still not as good).
Enjoyment-9~
Enjoyment gets a 9 just because I don't like waiting 2 weeks to a month between chapters, it is cruel. I really do enjoy reading this manga.
Overall-10~
Overall, Skip Beat gets a 10. I love love love this manga and I'm so happy that I decided to check it out. For a long time, it seemed like total crap that wasn't worth even looking at...DON'T JUDGE THIS BOOK BY ITS COVER! D:

At first, I thought Katekyo Hitman Reborn would be just like Naruto or Bleach. It looked like some cliche', shonen anime and the scene where the main character appeared in nothing but boxers disgusted. Soon after though, I learned that the first 19 episodes were only for character development, so I skipped them. Skipping these episodes completely changed my outlook on the show. Immediately, the show gained an interesting plot and it all got better from there.
Story: For the story, this show gets a 9. Though sometimes boring, it usually keeps strong interest. Every episode ends in a
...
suspenseful ending as well, which keeps you watching. :3 If you like cool weapons, mafia, and really bad ass characters, this show is for you.
Art: The art is pretty good, and it's definitely bearable (unlike some animes I've seen). All the characters are unique, and the guys don't look too girly. P=
Sound: I LOVE the music in this anime. The theme song/ending song is always fantastic, and each character has a really cool theme song as well. There are good noises in appropriate places. If something is supposed to seem creepy, it will give off a scary/creepy feeling.
Character: The characters are also something I love. Everyone develops well, and they are all unique. You'll connect with everybody, and really grow to love them just like the show.
Enjoyment: Basically, I really enjoyed this show. Even though there are fillers...doesn't every show have those?
Overall: Overall, this show is highly enjoyable! If you want something different, yet still shonen, check this anime out~

At first, I thought it would just be one of those nerdy animes with robots and no story, but wow, I got proven wrong when I saw the first episode. Code Geass is much more.
Story~
This is about a young, teen boy in the distant future named Lelouch, who is on his way in being 17th prince in line for Britannia. In the future, Britannia has raided Japan with new robotic technology, and left it to be nothing more than something called Area 11. Lelouch is disgusted by his father's actions, but is even more horrified to find that his mother had been killed. His sister,
...
in shock, loses her eyesight, and ends up getting shot, crippiling her.
After learning of all this, Lelouch decides to speak up against his father. In doing so, he is banished for Britannia and sent to Area 11 with his sister. Outraged, Lelouch wants to do something, but does not know how he could. Days pass, and he grows bored of life. But then, on his way to school, he actually gets nabbed by Japanese terrorists. He becomes surrounded by Britannian soldiers and fears that this is the end. In the crowd of soldiers he notices his childhood friend Suzaku. He speaks up against Lelouch, but not being a pureblooded Britannian, ends up angering the leader. Suzaku is suspected of being a terrorist like Lelouch, and now, they both fear it is the end. But then, something in the terrorist's truck jumps out and a green-haired girl named C.2 comes and blocks Lelouch. She is shot, but gives Lelouch a strange power that allows him to control the minds of others. With his new found power, Lelouch orders all the soldiers to commit suicide, while Suzaku has escaped. With the power of the geass, Lelouch and C.2 hope to create a better place for Japan, and for his little sister.
Art~
The art is nice and vibrant, but, in my opinion, the guys look a little too thin. This didn't bother me much because it was still really nice, but it was the weakest point in the anime.
Sound~
Sound is in the correct places, and, like Death Note, dramatic scenes are really made...dramatic. I liked the theme songs/endings for the most part and overall, it was nice.
Characters~
Though slow at first, Lelouch learns to become a strong leader even though it's out of wanting revenge on his father. He also wants to help his sister which softens him up slightly in this case. His comrades also develop as well by following Lelouch and the enemies learn to be trickier. Lelouch must keep up with his enemies and they must keep up with him. The development speeds up at the end of the series and in R2.
Enjoyment~
This anime was very enjoyable as it had plenty of explosions, romance, violence, and strategy.
Overall~
Overall, I really liked this anime which puts it at #3 on my top 10 animes.

D. Gray Man is one of my favorites. The story may seem like an ordinary shonen, but, when you get farther into the series, that all changes. Even the bad guys get a say and it's really different because they actually have their own reasons and beliefs for the things they do.
Story~
The story seems dull and unoriginal in the beginning, but it becomes quite complex once you to get into it. Allen Walker and the other "good guy" main characters are Exorcists who are supposed to in the beginning, simply help fight off demons that are terrorizing the world .
...
They use "Innocence" which is a weapon which is unique for every person and only certain people are actually compatible into it. Later in the story, everything gets deeper as you find out that the ones behind all the demon attacks is really a big, happy family/organization of bad guys called the "Noah". They are supernatural, but still human which causes problems for Allen in the beginning. He thinks they are just like him, but he soon finds out they are evil....and strong. The characters have to suck it up, and attack these "humans" which, much to their dismay, also help in corrupting the world. The Noah also have a leader despite being incredibly strong whom is known as "The Millenium Earl". To the Noah, he is simply "Uncle Earl" or "Master Earl-sama". They treat each other like family which makes you see two different viewpoints since of course, the Exorcists think of him as the main, pure evil villain. In that respect, D. Gray Man is incredibly original. Seriously, when do you actually get some bad guys that act as a family and have some brains?
Art~
D. Gray Man's art is some of the best I've seen. The Exorcists all have beautiful uniforms, and everything EVERYTHING is gorgeous. Along with Kuroshitsuji, this has got to have some of the best anime-style art around.
Sound~
Appropriate sounds are made when needed and all the voice actors have lovely voices. Even the theme/ending songs never fail to impress.
Characters~
The characters all develop well. Although slow at times, they do so because, of course, they must. For the Noah, Earl, and demons, they have to plan new ways to stop the Exorcists. For the Exorcists, they have to gain more strength as the enemy is always growing. Akuma/demons actually level up which just adds to the mischief that the Noah are already causing.
Enjoyment~
I really enjoyed D. Gray Man although I must admit, it got slow in the middle and at the very end. Even so, the fascinating action scenes that they had made up for all of it. The suspense was killing me especially with Noah vs. Exorcist scenes.
Overall~
Overall, I LOVED D. Gray Man. This shonen was definitely what I was looking for, and I'm glad I discovered it.

To be honest, I didn't really think this would be a good anime, but, man was I wrong. A demon that eats mysteries? It sounds weird, but, wow, you have to give it a chance. This show is really interesting despite being a detective-solving-mysteries type of anime (which isn't normally my thing). It is REALLY unique
Story~
This anime is about a bird demon named Neuro who leaves the demon world and enters Earth in search of more mysteries to eat. To him, mysteries are like food so, he has to keep eating them until he finds the ultimate mystery.
...
He already ate all the mysteries in Hell DX...ya, poor Neuro. Anyways, he meets a girl named Yako whose father was brutally murdered. She wants to find the "mystery" as to how he died because everyone thinks it was a suicide even though she knows there was no way he could've commited suicide. Neuro senses this and appears on the wall in her room out of no where. He asks her if she wants to uncover the mystery, she says yes, then he basically makes her his slave. She serves Neuro and in his place, becomes a famous detective. Neuro, being a demon and all, wouldn't want to blow his cover as a demon now would he? Anyways, this story gets really interesting and, really, GIVE IT A CHANCE.
Art~
This art is above average especially with drawing Neuro. He has gorgeous colors in his hair, and his eyes especially are extremely detailed.
Sound~
The sound is pretty good having it's ups and downs. The songs are nice and overall, nothing is unbearable.
Character~
The characters develop well especially Yako. She goes from being extremely dependent on Neuro, to actually becoming independent. By the end of the series, she is actually able to help Neuro and doesn't act completely like a puppet.
Enjoyment~
This anime was very enjoyable and even the fillers weren't boring. The originality and crazyness was a good refresher after seeing so many cliche animes. =_=
Overall~
Overall, I did like Majin Tantei Nougami Neuro quite a lot.

This show isn't like normal anime. Usually, they start off slow then, after a couple episodes, you can get into it. With Death Note, it gets interesting from the first episode.
Story~
It starts off with a Death God named Ryuk dropping his notebook into the human world. Naturally, he has to go down there to get it but soon, he finds out, it has already been taken. A 17 year old highschool genius named Light finds it outside of his school. Written on the front are the words Death Note. Apparently, if you write the name of any person and picture them in your mind, they
...
will die in 40 seconds. Light, bored with life, decides to try it out. To his surprise, it ends up working and with it, he tries to rid the world of evil having his strong ambitions. Ryuk comes to help him, but soon, he finds out this isn't enough. Light begins to get hunted down by the police whom have a detective which has the same level of intelligence as Light. It turns into a battle. Will Light's dream come true? Or will he be caught by his enemies?
Art~
The art is really beautiful and everything is well drawn for the most part. Misa wears quite complex, lolita outfits and there are a variety of characters in which they don't all look exactly the same.
Sound~
I really enjoyed the sound, music, etc. It fit when there were dramatic scenes, scary scenes, and romantic-ish scenes although there weren't that many of those.
Characters~
You learn a lot about the characters and even learn of other "sides". Light seems like a good kid trying to bring justice into the world, but then, when he finds the Death Note, he goes crazy. L, seems like just an incredibly smart detective until you find out that he is actually very lonely. All the characters change and develop.
Enjoyment~
I really enjoyed the anime because of the suspense and actually sort of original storyline.
Overall~
Overall, this was a good anime and it gets an 8 from myself.
