The mood of the story doesn't stay in one spot for a long amount of time and the things that occur stay in motion and are not forgotten (which happens at times in other mangas). There are suspenseful, though-provoking, tough, sweet, sweaty, and many funny times that interchange throughout the book at points when you least suspect it. There is a special and well-exhibited unexpected combination of the gentle and rough, the thinkers and fighters, that makes it seem like they were meant for each other. The further along in the series you go, the more you learn about the unique pasts of the characters

I have a very low tolerance for annoying characters and over-used clichés. This story has both in spades and I can’t put up with it anymore. I was initially drawn to this series because it was about government censorship and I liked the anime a lot so I figured I would love the manga. Well I don’t. Why? Because despite this being about an adult woman in the military, Iku is your typical shoujo heroine: socially awkward, air headed, clumsy/not good at anything (well except for physical fitness), damsel in distress, and a complete crybaby. She is practically crying every other chapter and is being

i really enjoyed this manga. I read it as it came out in North America so I was able to not binge read and appreciate the plot more.
The story deals with a military force who protect books. For some people this may be ridiculous but to me it was quite realistic (but maybe that's because I enjoy reading a lot). the premise reminded me of Bootleg or Chocolate Underground. I enjoyed how every action in the series had purpose. It wasn't all just that oh we did a thing, it's all good, nothing matters now and it really showed how interconnected the ... Oct 7, 2013
This is my most Favorite Manga. I agree with another critic, laughing so hard = exhausted. The action and suspenseful romantic scenes are great too. The reason why I said it's "suspenseful romantic" is because 10 volumes in and well ... let me put it this way:
You want MORE!!! I am always on the edge of my seat to get the next volume. I absolutely love all the characters. (Especially Dojo) ^-^ Ps. Do not forget to read the bonus manga's at the end of each volume. They are usually really funny and sweet. Kiiro Yumi & Hiro Arikawa are the greatest! Apr 27, 2013
Generally full of comedy~ I end up exhausted most of the time for laughing too much.
Romance or love related emotions/actions was never really "clear" or "serious". The main character is aggressive with high motivation, which reminds you of the young naruto in many ways, though it's just that she is a bit more mature than young naruto. Jan 21, 2018
I wish I could rate the competency of the author as well. I saw a review saying this manga has quite clichè characters and, well, that's true. But I'm starting to learn that clichès are not what matters and, yes, if they are well worked or not. This one is really well worked, that's why an 8 story + 7 character resulted in 10 enjoyment.
Story (8): This story wins lots of points for creativity. The Japanese government creates a law wich censors several books, but since the city government has enough independence to create their on laws they create one wich protects libraries, saying they can ... Dec 29, 2022
So basically I found out about this manga through my secret Santa on Animeplanet. At first I really liked the idea with a tall female lead and the short male lead bickering at first in a military setting then later on, we see them warm up obviously. I like my opposite attracts genre stories lemme tell ya.
However I hate the fact that it was just too over the top like I felt both ML and FL’s scenes needed to be more focused than the side characters point of view. I thought having the Tezuka character being the “ third wheeler” was just pointless like ... Feb 11, 2024
Read a few in middle school and high school as they were still releasing mangas and translations. After 10 years, I was finally able to finish the series and on to the next sequel which is in Japanese due to not being as popular. I still enjoy reading this and binge-read it, even reading at work haha! It's so good and addicting as not many scenarios are around with books and military w/romances. Would recommend giving this book a try, animation is all right as long you read the manga.
The characters are very well-rounded but its fun to re-read the entire series to see ... |
