Imawa no Kuni no Alice addpermalink

Both series feature the protagonists teaming up to play games with significant consequences, often involving mastery, creative reinterpretation, and/or exploitation of simple rules. However, while Imawa no Kuni no Alice often showcases the cooperation between people with different skillsets to triumph in games that they couldn't win alone, Tomodachi Game mostly just serves to demonstrate one mastermind's relentless one-upsmanship of every foe and opposing strategy.

Mayonaka no Cross Method addpermalink

Both manga have the same author- Yamaguchi, Mikoto. As such, both stories share similar themes regarding the psychology of criminals. Both manga also central around a "game" of some type- be it the Cross Method or the Tomodachi Game- as well as individuals who attempt to manipulate the game to their advantage. Both manga have a Cat-and-Mouse dynamic, placing the characters in dire circumstances, and leaving them to find a way out.

In both cases there is a storyline that keeps us on the edge of our seat the whole time. The main character constantly finds himself in seemingly impossible situations, and yet he manages to get out of them every time with the help of his intellect.

In order to survive you need to complete games, that is the premise in both mangas. The scenario is different between the two manga, while in one the protagonist seems to be trasportated to a light novel world the others occurs in reality, however in both cases the protagonist needs to use their brains and abilities in order to survive the challenges together with their friends
