Both manga's have similar characters which in both manga's do quests to earn money, or just for fun. In Monster Hunter Orage there's more of a goal then in Fairy Tail, which varies from time to time.

The cast of main characters have a lot in common, both main characters set out on a journey for a certain goal, only to make more friends and comrades to join them.

Despite many differences the stories of both series are rather similar. Main characters are Adventurers/Hunters, whose job is to deal with dangerous monsters. If you liked one of the series, you'll surely like the other one.

MC and teammates are very energetic. Comedy as if they know each other for years instead of days. *One for all, all for one-mind, great teamwork scenes <>Monster Hunter Orage has faster pacing but that's not unexpected for a short manga.

It's have same feeling about adventure, the MC is swordman, and have an archer in party member. sory i cannot describe it well, but it's have the same vibe.

Both series deal with characters that have similar "jobs" to do quests and go on adventure, apart from the similarities between the characters, parts of the story and action, they also share the same feeling when reading them.

Both are from the same mangaka. While one is about a group of monster hunters who join together in search of a legendary monster and the other about a group of monsters who fight together to protect their village from anything that threatens it they have a similar theme of comrades fighting together and protecting each other.

Monster Hunter Orage by Hiro Mashima uses the same formula as Toriko, but in different aspects. What closes the relationship is the whole Monster Hunting ordeal and using the monsters parts for their own liking. For Toriko, they hunt monsters for food. For Monster Hunter Orage, its for items and upgrading weapons. They have a same idea with the monsters and levels, but different aspects. If you like monster hunting in Toriko, you might want to check this out.

These two series are almost identical but Metallica only has one chapter so far so it might change. - same art style - same humor - very similar characters - the worlds are almost identical with monsters that look similar in both - Metallica's world revolves around ore and Monster Hunter's world revolves around monsters. So if you liked Monster Hunter or just about anything by Mashima you will probably enjoy this.
