If you are interested in the Warring States period, but like stories about people around Nobunaga, these manga are for you. Nobunaga no Chef brings the perspective of a modern Japanese chef to bear whereas Hyouge Mono shows a more human side to samurai and the cultural upheaval of the time.

Booth are about experts of art determining the value of items of interest, though in one to participate in aesthetic goals and in the other case to create counterfeits.

Stories about eccentrics in the Sengoku period. The progatonist also meets various historical figures from this era.

Eccentric protagonists and their life philosophies for going through life. Interestingly, Chiisakobee was originally also a historical drama same as Hyouge Mono, through the manga adaptation shifted it to contemporary times.

Manga based on asian history and using real people as characters, but making it over the top and entertaining.

Set in feudal japan, those manga not only bring the reader to see people's lives in that period, both of those titles also feature intruguing human drama with great writing. Some part of the story also feature Japan's contact with western culture, and also how the protagonist goes through surviving social life and intricacies. Both appeal to mature audience - not because of content warnings, but because of content depth.

Both mangas are Warring States comedies in which Nobunaga is distant from the main characters. Ashi-girl is more of a star-crossed lovers romantic comedy and Hyouge Mono trades more on laughing at human foibles, but both breathe new life into the most over visited historical manga time period.
