Yeah, Volume 1 is wonderful.

In a way, I’m glad that this manga wasn’t available online for years, as I’ve become far more biased towards sports-related works in recent times. Things like Habu and Hase talking to each other about the demon slab is just my kind of thing now, and I’m not sure I would feel as strongly about it 4 years ago when I first wanted to read Summit of the Gods.

Very much so. Highly recommend it to anyone seeking elaborate background art to marvel at and perhaps take cues from if they're also an aspiring storyboard artist. Ishinomori was a man of inexhaustible talent and i stand by my notions that had it not been for his premature death right around the same age group at which Tezuka also faced his untimely mortality, he would've gone on to achieve even greater success than the former had.

I may have to go back and read Kakumeika no Gogo. The impact that Yuretsuzukeru left on me was quite profound, especially 'Land of the Sacred Spirits.'
