This manga is just... unbelievable. I have seen the movie before and I didn't cry, though it was moving.

The book though. Oh my god, I sobbed so hard, twice.

The thing is, the book lets you feel what you want to feel. The movie had the mood set already. For example at one point in the movie I felt sad but the music was somewhat uplifting so I didn't feel like crying. As I read the book though I sobbed so hard at that point because there was no music to force me to feel something, it was my own thoughts and emotions about ... that part that made me cry. (If you haven't noticed, I seem to measure my tears with how good the book is. Heavy crying, x2, that smudged my eyeliner just before leaving the house = very good).

I HIGHLY RECOMMEND THIS. I borrowed this book at the library today, finished it in about 2 hours and then went and ordered the book and movie on Amazon so I can hold it close to my heart forever.

I LOVE THIS SO MUCH, also I barely ever read manga but this was so good to read so for people like me, I'm sure you'll like it, and also the fact that all three volumes are in just one book is lovely.

I haven't seen the movie for Wolf Children yet, but I can say that the movie will be extremely good based on this manga. The story itself is my favorite type of wholesomeness and love for another person that's mixed with sadness and longing for something to change but you know has to happen. Both Ame's and Yuki's paths are fulfilling in their own way, but really Hana's love and devotion to her children is the character trait that I loved the most. Pure and heartwarming story that left me crying when Ame and Yuki both committed to their paths! I do cry a lot ... so this might not mean much, but still an AMAZING story of an ADORABLE family growing and accepting themselves. Mega good!

Story: The storyline in this manga hits you straight in the feels. With romance, family conflict and loss of a loved one. Once starting I could put it down until I finished it. The main dialogue start off from Hana's prospective until the second half where we start to see Ame and Yuki prospective and how they grow and shape.

Characters: Character development is amazing in this manga. You literally get to watch them grow and change as individuals and as a family. From the start to the end all our mains characters motivations and end goals shift and change. My favourite character is Ame. ... Starting off as a timid young pup who's practically scared of everything to develop into a young wolf who's strong and independent by the end of the manga.

Art: I love the art style. It's simple manga panelling but the shading it soft and with cross-stitching highlight and shaddowing. The volume I've read has a few manga panels in colour and they are done in a water colour style which I find gorgeous.

Overall: this manga hold a special place in my heart and is always my go to read when I'm feeling down. It has also been turned into a stunning movie which I highly recommend.
