Set in school, the protagonist is sort of a loner with the some problems regarding human interactiong and regardless of being clever they have degrading views of other people ("normies"/"tools"). There is a also a a female character with long black hair that too has superiority complex towards other people. Those slightly disfunctional people then try to get through their school lives.

Taking place in a school setting, both series are about a small cast of characters belonging to a group. And despite their different goals, they have some similarities when it comes to its characters. The main male protagonist have similar personalities and have difficultly making friends. On the other hand, the main female protagonist acts cold towards others but is able to open up more as the series progresses. There is light comedy present in both series with more romance in Boku wa Tomodachi ga Sukunai. However, they both adapts a slice of life tone to present their perspective stories. I recommend both series for  read more

Novels set in high school, centered around antisocial but smart male lead and his social circle (yes, antisocial lead with a social circle) with plot centered mostly about solving high school related issues.

I quit go home club is like hipster but better Oregairu. 1. The MC tasked by his beautiful teacher to go on and make friends with loner FMC 2. The MC and FMC early stage approach has been, lets say quite unique like 8man with Yukino. 3. MC and FMC will form a club just both of them to solve people's problem. 4. MC and 8Man oddly dumb enough to self sacrifice to make something works better. What excels this than Oregairu is FMC is miles better than Yukino. FMC doesnt afraid to take action, unlike Yukino which sounds like she always waiting cues from 8Man. FMC  read more

Light novels about a high school male leads with cynical views on society (after all, at start Araragi followed a concept that having friends would decrease his intensity as human) meet other people (mostly girls) and starts to actually having friends/being a romantic interest of others. Both are comedies with some serious moments, but while Oregairu focuses on the romantic aspect, Monogatari Series focuses on the supernatural one. Also, Monogatari Series has some actual character developement that explain why an ex-loner has friends and relationships now.

School romance with a main character with a harem, where all the girls have a very profound development and are all attractive.

Both are wonderful works that satirize the romcoms

Oregairu andJjaku-Chara Tomozaki-kun has a similar mc personality. Both mc is introvert who hate normies and as a story progress they met a lot of people and became more sociable.

Both MC are traumatized by women because they had a bad experience of being rejected in middle school. it makes them decide to be loners when high school and not interested in romance anymore. for some reason they also meet a girl who begins to change their lives.

Both have an antisocial a Protagonist. Both at first glance look like comedy but get pretty dramatic. Both have this catcher in the rye vibe to them.

Both novels feature a cynical protagonist and a sarcastic female who catches their attention. both are well written with snarky comments placed at the right times. Though Gekkou is a shorter series with just one volume.

Taking place in a school life setting, both series shares a similar feeling with its small yet colorful cast of characters. If you're into stories with detailed dialogues and relationship building, both series are worth checking for their developments. The characters builds relationships in a variety of ways. Kokoro Connect has additional elements of supernatural while Yahari Ore no Seishun Love Comedy wa Machigatteiru has strength for its noticeable dialogues.

-witty, clever dialogue and banter -high school setting -character driven drama with some romance -a slice-of-life feel -Male/Female leads share similarities (Hachiman/Yukino and Sakuta/Mai)

Sket Dance and Yahari Ore no Seishun Love Comedy wa Machigatteiru. takes place in a school life setting (with club gimmick) with a main cast of contrasting personalities While comedy isn't a major factor in SNAFU, Sket Dance portrays that exclusively with its gimmicks. But despite that, both series has a decent amount of drama relating to events in their lives. There's also realism portrayed in both series when it comes to relationships. At the same time, both series are well known for their memorable dialogues.

Both are slice of life comedies where the protagonist struggles to fit into society due to their warped thinking and end up resenting it.

In both series male lead suffers traumatic event that makes him sad and a bit unsocial. Both Hikigaya and Kazuya are little by little making steps to make their life better and also with their own unique way they are trying to help their friends. Both protagonists are meeting new girls but also they are dealing with those that they've met in the past. You know they both just need a little bit of honesty and love.
