Taking place in a school setting, both series are about a small cast of characters belonging to a group. And despite their different goals, they have some similarities when it comes to its characters. The main male protagonist have similar personalities and have difficultly making friends. On the other hand, the main female protagonist acts cold towards others but is able to open up more as the series progresses. Taking place in school, both novels focus on the character relationship (changes) among a small club. The main characters in both stories have difficulties in making friends because of their own special circumstances. Make no mistake, that both stories involve love triangles, but in a realistic, bitter-sweet fashion.
