If you've read Skip Beat and liked the concept I think you'll defenitly like The One.
Both are about girls entering the entertainment business,(Skip beat-acting,The one-modelling) and how they struggle to make it, falling in love a long the way aso.

The drawing style is similar. There is a bit of love and showbiz industry requires you to pose infront of cameras and wear fashionable just like in The One. They are both funny and both about a girl entering into an industry with little to zero experience yet a lot of talent. They both have a sad past related to their parents and the reason they are doing it both started from love. Either falling in love with a guy but then getting betrayed so they hated the guy and wanted revenge (Skip Beat!) or joining the industry to see the guy (The One). Either way the are really similar have similar story line, same sense of humor and drawing style. (At first when I was reading them I thought they were from the same author) read more

You'll definately like The One if you like Skip Beat, whilst the main character in skip beat does acting, the main actor in The One does Modelling. Both main actors have similar love lives, with the male in interest having a bad past

Both stories have great minds behind it that will send one surprise at you after another. Every time you think the arc or the plot can't get any better, it'll do a complete 180 at you.

While I think there's definitely similarities between the characters, the comedy and how both stories borrow from similar settings (the entertainment industry), it really quickly diverges from there. The progress of The One (romance-wise) moves a lot quicker than Skip Beat. Different characteristics and themes are used very differently between the two stories, which makes both stories so enjoyable and not repetitive.

Both of these are very similar. To start of with, they are both about girls trying to make it big in similar careers, (The One - Modeling, Skip Beat! - Acting/Entertainment) and fall in love along the way. The characters also remind me of each other.

I'm sure if you enjoyed Skip Beat! or The One, you will definitely enjoy the other.

Both feature women trying to make it in a very competitive industry.  There is an element of romance in both as well, but I think The One takes a more mature/less comedic spin to tell the story.

Both are stories about a girl trying their best to reach the top of the show business. One in acting and the other in modelling. Both tells the story about their growth over time, how they overcome their obstacles, and thier love life.

Although they don't relate in the same line of business/industries, I find Skip Beat and The One similar because of the idea of following dreams. Both series' main characters tries to make a name in their line of business through hard work. At the same time, there are complicated relationships that deals with friendship, love, betrayals, etc. There's a good degree of realism from both series as well especially on a professional level. Do note that Skip Beat has more comedy while The One adapts more mature content.

Both manga have high school girls who are trying to become famous. In both manga, the characters encounter many obstacles and encounter unexpected friendship and love, although they are different types.

Both manga will probably make a person laugh even though the authors have different styles of portraying comedy.

I am personally enjoying the manga and I always look forward to the new releases, so I think anyone who is a fan of "Skip Beat!" would be a fan of "The One" and vice versa.

Both mangas have young female leads who dream to be the top in their respective fields in the entertainment industry (acting for Skip Beat!/modeling for The One). Both protagonists also get involved with rivals who are jealous of them as well as with men who work with them and eventually develop feelings for them.

The One basically is also about the entertainment business only that it's about the fashion business. The protagonist also doesn't have much memory of her parents and it has a lot of time jumps. It's a really good manga if you are into so lowkey smut and drama. This is one of my favorite manga.

Both have heroines that do not have any plans to enter the entertainment industry initially but they change their decisions because of a 'guy'. Both heroine possess a lively character, never give up, ability to connect to their fans/audience, and forgiving heart. Both are lively and tries to learn and improve themselves for the better at any chance, little or not, they get. IF YOU LIKE ANY OF THE OTHER, BIG CHANCE OF LIKING THE OTHER ONE IS POSSIBLE.

Both are pretty spicy stories with a female lead in it, as well as them being very assertive and doesn't take shit from anyone as well as nice art and character designs too. As well as an entertainment industry focus in it as well too.

They both revolve around the world of modeling. Paradise kiss is more dramatic and realistic, while The One is really hilarious..it's really hard to stop laughing. But still in both mangas the main chars have a unique personality and they're really something to enjoy.

maybe the storyline isn't so similar..although it's about showbiz (music-nana, fashion-the one)..BUT! the art is so similar!!! lele in the first volumes looks like nana o.  but her personality is very similar to nana k.( the hachiko style)!! and eros looks like takumi!! i would have to appreciate more the one for the sexiness of the male protagonists...hehe:)))

Male leads are very similar, with their backgrounds, traumas and all. The One and Mars both have more realistic approach to relationships unlike other shoujo series out there. While leads in the Mars are high-schoolers, the ones in The One are older. Especially the male lead of The One has a more mature attitude towards his past and present. They both give the same heart wrenching feeling most of the time except The One is hilarious as well.

Kanojo wa Uso wo Aishisugiteru addpermalink

The One . . . & . . . Kanojo wa Uso wo Aishisugiteru . . are both about young girls who are suddenly decided to be famous The One's Lele chosen to be a model while Kanojo wa Uso wo Aishisugiteru's Riko scouted to be a singer (with her band). Both are interested in famous & older guys before meeting in person & going into their chosen fame career somewhat because of the guys, both meeting them at first without knowing who they are at first, both falling in love with the older guys.
Both manhua/manga are filled with serious career decisions, lots of romance, with sides of comedy! If you like one then the other is a must-read! {Sidenote, The One is currently longer than Kanojo wa Uso wo Aishisugiteru} read more

Youth Gone Wild addpermalink

If you liked the men in The One, Youth Gone Wild has the same art style.    Youth Gone Wild centers around an all guy band managed by a female agent Yating, but it is not a harem either.    With long haired rocker dudes, it is based on real music such as Guns n Roses and the title is based on a song by Skid Row.    This and its prequel, Paradise City, get into characterization and behind the scenes life of characters in the music industry like the One does in fashion.   Like the One, Youth Gone Wild takes a look at the good and bad things in the industry and the hardships an artist encounters trying to make a name for themselves in a difficult industry.   It's more light-hearted than The One but less funny than Skip Beat!   I think readers of those will appreciate it.   
If you are a fan of Lee Nicky's art and appreciate her mature shoujo- josei style and a story that has a real story and plot with real feeling characters you will enjoy it.   There are enough volumes to really get into the story too but not so many to drag on either.  I truly wish that Youth Gone Wild was better known by people who read her other series and I hope you will enjoy as I have very much myself. read more

W-Juliet II addpermalink

If you like The One you will probably enjoy W Juliet and W Juliet II.    
W Juliet II has similarities to The One because it deals with the problems of being in the modeling and acting industries and the stress it puts on those people's relationships.   Also readers of The One will notice similarities to some characters in the W Juliet series such as male models that have a feminine look but are not in fact gay.  W Juliet II has the couples continuing adventures once they enter the working world but it cannot be read as stading alone from W Juliet you have to read the main series first.  Differences are that W Juliet II deals with a married couple.  Though it's not listed on my page W Juliet is one of my favorite series - I just love this couple and I think that other readers of The One will enjoy it.   read more

For readers of The One that read yaoi, Haru o Daite Ita has some similarities.   This is a recommendation for mature readers only as this yaoi is more graphic and it's probably not the best one for your first yaoi read, but it is one of the very best yaoi series.   Both feature couples in relationships within the acting and modeling industries and the relationships take place over many years with ups and downs, love and hardships experienced by the couples.     Both can be very dramatic at times too, as tensions from the industries threaten their bonds, but Embracing Love is much more tongue in cheek since it is sort of a comentary on the industry and has the couple meeting while filming an AV (adult video - porn) so it's humor can be quite brash.   If you read The One and don't mind gay characters or hot men I think you will see why readers of it would like the other, the largest difference being that The One is a man and a woman while the other is a yaoi and the amount of graphic content.  Both have glamorous characters and attractive art.  read more

The stories and characters are pretty different but the fact that they are manhua with settings in NY and Paris is similar and they incorporate people from the design world.    If you like The One give Steel Rose a try.    The prequel to Steel Rose,  Ingenuo is about the world of photography and this runs into Steel Rose too and so does fashion, so if you like The One try both this and it's parent story.     Lois, the male lead,  will appeal to readers who don't mind a man who does not care if he looks feminine he is still a man in love with a girl.   And his back story will appeal to readers of The One also.   Le Ting is a VERY strong masculine type girl with a tough personality since she was an Olympic athlete.   So if you like strong female leads she is it.   Louis is a guy who falls for his polar opposite.    Its not a gender bender as in cross dressing but their personalities are the opposite of what is "typical" of the sexes.  The One also deals with gender roles in side characters and features a young woman who has goals but she is a model not a tough girl like Le Ting.   read more

The One is slightly more focused on romance and healing, and Ashita no Ousama's romance plays out in the background, but both have characters who develop through reaching their dream and becoming successful.

Both The One & Give Me Love are really good to read, despite Give Me Love being only  four volumes long, it's worth reading! With slightly similar styles in drawing & beautiful lead characters such as Lele & Marumie, both are filled with romance, determination & a purpose to life caused by infatuation!
 Lele enters the Modeling world while Marumie enters the Comedic world of show-biz, if you like one then the other is great to read!

If you enjoy The One,  I recommend W Juliet and W Juliet II.   It is about a couple who want to go into acting and their challenges in getting into the career.   Readers of The One who like very handsome men who can look feminine will love Makoto, the male mc of the series and if you like Lele you will enjoy the strong heroine Ito who is one of my favorite manga heroines because she is tough yet sweet and works hard for her success.   W Juliet covers them on their way toward their career and W Juliet II once into the industry but you Have to read the first series first as the second part makes no sense without it.   read more

One's a model, the other is a dancer, but both mangas are similar, they are about young girls with a lot of potential trying to work in the entertainment...both have good stories, but the one is more focused on Lele's personal life then Dance Subaru

It's kinda like it but not, they kinda have the same elements but the concept/set up differs in different ways. They both have something to do with the aspect of the entertainment world (tv,media,fashion etc..) and it has a reasonable amount more of guys then normal but the plots differ in ways. Anyway i say both are a good read, try this and see if you like it.
