Both Koukou Debut and Lovely Complex are lighthearted shoujo romantic comedies. The main couple in both these series follow similar patterns. Risa(Lovecom) is worried about her height and Haruna (Koukou debut) is too atletic to get guys. Both fall in love with guys at first who end up getting other girlfriends, then go for the guy that they've known longer. They're both very cute and if you liked one you'll probably like the other. They have a similar feeling to them.

Both mangas are very similar in relationships and how they began there love interests...  Its not the height complex but Haruna couldn't get a boy because her styles/body tone didn't attact them, she is more "buff"(you don't notice) because she played for the softball team...  Both of them start out trying to look for boyfriends and winds up ending with the guy they were close to in the beginning...

Cute, funny, quirky, and all around awesome and enjoyable shoujo high school romance series. They both have a very similar vibe to them, and similar approaches to their manic, endearing love stories. If these two series were people, I'd think they'd been separated at birth.

Love, sadness, excitement, and just about every other emotion can be express while you're reading these two manga, They are both so alike yet at the same time so different.

Koukou Debut is about a girl name Haruna, who had just enter her first year in High School. Like most girl that are portray in shougo manga, she's looking for a boyfriend. But things aren't going well for her as she has such a terrible taste in fashion and a masculine body due to playing baseball in Middle School. Lovely Complex is about a girl name Risa, who's also in her first year in High School and is also looking for a boyfriend, but only one thing is stopping her. Her complex about her height.

In these two well thought-out manga, both of the main character goes through an experience that they will neber forget. They experience how to love, to feel pain, jealousy, and how to be a "girlfriend". In Koukou Debut, Haruna meets an upper classman name Yoh and asks him to be her coach to help her be "attractive". While in Lovely Complex, Risa is in love with one of her classmate/nemesis, name Omani, who's shorter than an average dude. As these two manga proceed, feeling changes and different goals are made. The experiences that went through these two manga are unforgettable. 

These two manga are so similar yet at the same time so different, and are just so amazing. The ending of the two are also so adorable and quite funny. I cried, I laughed, I was even angry. Emotion can be felt while reading these two manga. So if you like Koukou Debut, you will definitely like Lovely Complex. And vice versa. read more

Both share a girl main character that has never had a boyfriend and attempts to get one. Risa (Lovely Complex)  is taller then average and Haruna (Koukou Debut) has no fashion sense so they each get help from another guy, who they end up falling in love with.

Both Lovely Complex and Koukou Debut involve the characters searching for love. 
In Koukou Debut though, only one of the main characters is looking for love. I personally think Lovely Complex has much more comedy in it then Koukou Debut. 
In both mangas, the main characters end up falling in love with a person they didn't expect to fall in love with. 
These mangas both contain a decent amount of school life and tons of humor with romance! :]

Both are great romantic comedies. Both heroine are hilarious along with the the male protagonist. However the slight difference is that in Koukou Debut Yoh is like a super hottie compared to ootani in Lovely Complex who is short. Beside that, everything is pretty similar. If you like one, you should like the other too! Hope you enjoy!

Hogh school love's. Same sort of feeling you get from reading. Both are actually light hilarous manga's. Also both the girls really do have a few similarity's. They are both
not really feminine, also both don't give up so easily, and both are also very enjoyable. 

The guys also first act hard to get, and come over as indecisive.
Don't forget to check the other one out!

Both about couples that really don't want to admit their love at first (because they swear not to fall in love for one reason or another), but of course inevitably get together eventually. The heroines have problems with trying to act and look more feminine.

Lovely Complex and High School Debut are similar because in both manga, they help each other with relationships and then fall for each other in the end.

Coming from someone whose favorite shoujo is Lovely Complex, these two are actually very similar. Risa, the female lead of Lovely Complex, is like Haruna in every aspect with the exception of Haruna's physical prowess. The overall light-hearted high school comedy vibe is just like the one in Lovely Complex, which is what kept me hooked onto Koukou Debut. If you like this manga, I assure you you'll love Lovely Complex.

Lovecom and Saruyama both deal with a completely mismatched couple. Both couples frequently argue, but care for each other in their own ways. The overall feel of both is light hearted and very enjoyable. If you loved one, you should definitely check out the other.

These two mangas are under the comedy, shoujo, romance, and school life genres. They mostly fall under the typical shoujo plot, like angry love rivals, but nonetheless, they're worth reading.

They're both extremely hilarious to the extent that just remembering them will make you laugh out loud so hard that people will start thinking you're crazy. Both series contain stupid couples who never fail to make people laugh. And they don't only focus on the main couple's love story but also on their idiotic friends' love stories as well.

When reading the Christmas one-shot Tonari no Danshi, I was really reminded of Lovely Complex, the dynamics of how the two characters are friends and compete on out-doing each other on everything is really similar, they are a great couple. Enjoy!   Tonari no Danshi is a one shot within Otomental  - while Lovely Complex is a shoujo series.

If you are a fan of the rom com Lovely Complex you might like the oneshot My Hero.  The guy is shorter than the girl and clowns around to make up for his height.  The bickering, argueing relationship but still mutual love is very much like it too.  They are both comedy shoujos with a light fun tone.

The dynamic between Akane and Yamato is extremely similar to that between Otani and Risa in Lovely Complex.  Akane and Yamato constantly bicker in a rather similar comical way, and the other characters observe "they get along well" while the two stubbornly and loudly deny it.  They even sort of try to pursue other potential romantic interests, but ultimately have them fail because of their obvious closeness to each other.  If you liked Lovely Complex, you'll probably also like Love! Love! Love!, though of the two, Lovely Complex is the better one.

Ah these manga are both so refreshing!! they are both absolutely adorable and both make you constantly burst out in laughter! the art isnt exactly similar but i love how both the mangaka use extreme expressions to show the humor in funny situations. the perfect mix of comedy and love! SKS is a way slower love development than LC but then they really have their own way to them so even though they are both in the same category, they arent really to be compared :D oh! and both of these i put off reading because the art looked too childish at first. They're both about Romance. The girl also fell for the guy first & the guy didn't respond to her feelings. Both have great friends who support them. Both are really funny too. They have the same mood, although Lovely Everywhere has some serious moments about the background of the characters.

They're both rather goofy birds of a feather that for various reasons aren't interested in each other at first. The two series are also of a similar type of romantic comedy manga, where the comedy is mostly in seeing the protagonists goof around.

Ookami Shoujo to Kuro Ouji is still being published but I get the same vibe from these two. If you loved Lovely Complex like I did, I highly recommend this one. Both main female characters stuggle to obtain the love of the male.

Both are great shoujo romance series about a couple no one thought would ever happen, whose biggest relationship obstacle seems to be themselves.  Both also have great supporting casts who gradually get fleshed out and have their own great subplots.

At first glance, though both mangas are shoujos, they seem quite different. Indeed, their stories ARE quite different, but the feelings they evoke in their readers are just the same. Never have any mangas made me laugh like Ouran and Lovely Complex. Never have any mangas made me smile like Ouran and Lovely Complex. Never have two mangas made me tear like Ouran and Lovely Complex... theyre two fanatastic series witht the same kind of wacky humour, the same kind of sugary sweet romance, and the same kind of heroine.

Actually, this is the redeeming factor for both mangas. While Ouran's Haruhi has more of a wtf-i-dont-care attitude, Risa has more of a wtf-is-wrong-with-you-you-have-problems attitude. But they BOTH have a sense of rationality, and can make incredibly funny comments from anything (especially haruhi... she's so down to earth, I love her :D).

You'll like both series, to be sure. read more

Same author. Both stories have strong female protagonists and dense co-protagonists. Touching moments and a love rival! I highly recommend this if you loved Lovely Complex.

The 4th short story in Suki, Tokoro ni Yori Arashi is very similar to the plot of Lovely Complex. The tallest girl in the class must deal with someone who once was the smallest person in the class, and while it's not as developed (it is a one shot) it is still sweet to see the developing relationship despite the height obstacle.

Now, at first glance, these two seem to be completely different, aside from both being shoujo romantic comedy manga. But as I was reading Baby Love, it, to me, was permeated with such throwbacks to Lovely Complex (I say this because I read lovely complex waaay before baby love, and not because I think the author did this) that I simply have to recommend one to the other.

The feeling while reading both of them is the same.Lots of comedy and romance.
The main characters, Risa and Takeo are very similar : ridiculous and complexed by their appearance (Risa is taller than her crush while Takeo has unappealing figure and a huge constitution)

Both involve a couple that don't get along at the start but later have feelings for each other. beauty pop is more focused on hairstyling rather than romance but has romance later on.both manga are really cute and soo funny :D

Both have "comedy duo" and "starting as friends" as part of the story. The main characters are a bit stupid and get to know each other in a funny way. The boy is rude to the main girl, but actually cares about her. Also, both are good shoujos for those who like love triangle/s (even though Love Com never really tried to have a serious love triangle). Nakanmon! deals with a serious matter (death of a family member), while Love Com is more comedy-like, but both of them have a good character growth.
