Yea , that's true it all depends on what kind of style of writing the author prefers though some of the authors don't keep the characters consistent and end up killing their character .

And i just looked and saw that it only has one volume out online so i can understand why you didn't go in depths regarding characters personalities since one volume is way early for that and going into depths can take about 4 or 5 volumes depending on the legend of the series .

That does somehow still sound cliche though i personally don't mind cliche as long as the author explores their emotions for romance rather than making them seem like the girl / guy likes the other because of their looks , this is pretty much what happens in lots of shojo series where author don't explore the characters properly and leave them be stereotype characters though i will wait until i have read few volumes of the series to make my opinion about this series .

Regarding your review for "Ore Monogatari" manga , i'm just wondering how is the story not like any other shojo !?!?! Since the plot sounds like any other shojo with hardly any depth and the characters sounds really one-dimensional "pretty boy" that you will find in majority of shojo nowadays.
