Both are about an agricultural school, with a bunch of comedy elements.

Uchuu Kyoudai (Space Brothers) and Gin no Saji (Silver Spoon) are excellent examples of a coming age story following characters and their dreams. The main male protagonist from both series discovers their potentials with what they want to be and throughout both series, their stories highlights their journey. Both series have great writing when it comes to character relationships that explores a variety of themes. They also hold a strong deal of realism that can be relatable in many ways for other readers.

Gin no Saji and Shokugeki no Souma chronicles the journey of a main protagonist who enters a field of study that may change his life forever. Throughout their journey, they master certain skills that makes them stand out and earn the respect of others. There is competition when it comes to the work but also the same time has its rewards. Gin no Saji is more defined by its life style tone of the story while Shokugeki no Souma has more food gimmicks in shounen style battles. However, both series has a similar feeling when it establishes their journey to become professional talents.

These are both slice of life manga focused more on farm life and farm animals, as well as a city centric MC growing accustomed too (and in love with) simplistic a more simplistic life style that makes him feel like a fish out of water

Both manga are excellent coming of age stories that incorporate the main plotline of SoL elements and the romance subplot to the overall development and growth of the MCs to become more mature in facing new conflicts. Another thing to mention is how consistent the progression is, both of the manga offers excellent organic progression with how faithful the authors are in their characters that never betrayed their established background along the story. Both of these mangas are absolute must-read for avid SoL reader out there that is looking for a good time.

They're both about a protagonist who leaves home and makes new friends from a new hobby(?).

slice of life with actual knowledge about the stuff, bread stuff for masaki no pan, and farming+husbandry+dairy for gin no saji, btw husbandry is like raising cattles, chickens, and pigs.

If you've liked the way more popular Fullmetal Alchemist, you may like Silver Spoon. Both are made by the same author and so you can see both share a same-ish style of epic, where principal themes are thoroughly explored through characters perspectives, all while boasting quite the large cast. Themes, setting and tone differs, one is a(n) (agricultural) highschool comedy with strong coming of age elements while the other is a fantasy action-adventure with a strong mystery and conundrum at its center. Fullmetal Alchemist was more to my taste, but you may prefer Silver Spoon over it depending on yours.

These two manga both follow young male protagonists who find themselves only semi-willingly thrust into rural situations. In Gin no Saji it's a kid who doesn't have a dream so he ends up at a farming high school, and in Barakamon it's a young calligrapher who goes to a small island village to find inspiration. They both feature a fun cast of characters, comedic slice of life with occasional serious moments, and they both have a similar heartwarming feeling.

Two excellent agricultural manga about pursuing your dreams.

The main character attends school in a unfamiliar rural setting and gradually adjusts to it through the people around him. Both don't know exactly what they want to do in the future but have expectations from their families. Both quickly develop a crush on the girl who is sweet and caring to him and a one-sided rivalry with the girl's childhood friend. Both series are about finding your passion and a sense of belonging; Silver Spoon through agriculture, Sakamichi no Apollon through jazz.

They both focus a lot in food and ingredients, giving a lot of importance to the way to cook them, but also to the joy of eat them. Although ingredients in Toriko come from fantasy creatures.
