This is actually the first manga that made me cry, I was so overcome with emotion that I was actually crying for the main characters. I chose this manga because I had nothing to read so I started reading it to pass time. But as I read on, I couldn't stop.
The art was very good, its actually one of the best I've read.
Each character had their own personalties. I especially like how the mangaka portrayed the female character, she's so cute, clumsy and devoted (to the guy she loved)!! I just fell in love with them because... I don't know.... hehe sorry... I can't ...

when i firist started to read this manga,i was just looking for something short to read, and i wasn't really expect so much out of it. since it is a two volumes manga, i didn't expect there is a lot of characters or even story development from it. However, surprising , it turns out much better than i thought.
Story:
As it is mentioned in the summary, it is about a geisha, called butterfly, and the things that she encounter. however, there is only one or two chapters at the begining when she is actually a geisha. the story is mostly ...

I read it because i was bored and looking for a good read, but his manga had me hooked from the first chapter. I don't usually read shoujo manga's with serious themes, but this one was an exception. It had just enough humor, but some parts were so sad they almost made me cry. It wasn't a typical cheesy shoujo manga, which was quite refreshing, and it had a unique story line. I gave this manga an overall score of 10. The story was interesting and emotional; it felt realistic. The art was great and I'm a fan of this mangaka. The characters were believable; ...

~Story~
The story line was amazingly romantic and sad. The beggining was cute and romantic and then as you read the manga more the romance became heavy and it was a cute story much deeper than you would have thought from the desciption it goes like this. The girl is inlove with her child hood friend and he falls inlove with her later in through the series and he goes off to war while she begins raising the family he left behind and alot of sad parts in there.
~Characters~
Were amazing in everyway they were not unrealistic or stupid they grew alot through the series ...

No. If you like shoujo, and can read yet another manga that adheres to the general trend of:

Girl falls in love with boy -> They get together -> Some hardship here -> Love prevails

Then read this. Otherwise, I'd give this a pass. This is the first manga I've ever rated at a 1, and I'm utterly shocked at why this has an 8.17 (as of this review). It's unoriginal. The characters are bland and flat. The girl is dense, and does everything for the interest of her husband, to the point where he's constantly on her mind.

The only redeeming feature was the art, but ...

I really have to say if there was ever a manga which was heavily underrated it would be this one! Firstly, I love how the plot really sinks into its historical time setting of the 1920s. This is a refreshing break from traditional popular romance animes which focus on school-life.

Mademoiselle Butterfly really captures how individuals were treated based on status, famine and poverty. I think that the author did a really fantastic job. Although, the manga series is very short - it isn't rushed and flows effortlessly.

I think the relationship in this manga is truly beautiful and really made me cry. 10/10 - the ...

This manga shows the relationship between a geisha and her childhood friend who is a body painter.

the moments shared by the two of them has been portrayed well, it had this bittersweet feeling throughout the manga.

since it is a historic manga you also get to see some of the challenges faced by them as individuals and as a couple in that time/era.

In my opinion, this manga was very much enjoyable except for the end which had some unwanted drama. even though those events were portrayed well and the emotions were conveyed properly, I still felt it was unwanted.
