The whole structure of these series is the same, firstly author introduce us to the main hero using some random stories from their present life and then start to dig in the past, revealing a true nature of main heroes. Banya and Munsu are quite similar, they're not defenders of justice and bother yourself save someone only if they feel like doing it. Art and combination of bloodshed and comedy brings these series together.

Both action manga with feudal swordplay, some fantasy and a wasteland like world with dangerous and horrifying monsters. While very different, they sword of remind me of each other. Both also have great art and interesting characters.

They have some punnage, epic wannabe enticing battlestyle and honorful schemes. It's a small but very big world that the author had made. You get immersed and you want more and more. This manga should be read and watched.

The main characters has to deliver important letters or a person. They risk their lives for the letters.

Both set in fantasy worlds, both full of unrestrained violence! Berserk is more epic in scope due to its length, but as a result lags a bit at times, whereas Banya is short at 5 volumes but full of pace and energy all the way to the end.

The main character in "XS Hybrid" has hidden "talents", as well as Banya did. They both do not know why or where they have received these powers, but know that at one time they were not used for a good purpose. In both stories, the plot is about equal: they awake living a rather mundane life that is somewhat comical, and find that they are being sought after. There's a girl in both stories who is the "friend-lover-support" type of person. "Banya" ends on a happy note, however I wasn't quite able to finish "XS Hybrid" because my anime/manga supplier could get the rest of  read more
