The manga for Cowboy Bebop is completely different from the anime. It mostly shows the bounty hunters doing other stuff and sitting around than trying to hunt for bounties. If you read the Shooting Star manga, (which comes first) you would see the point in what I am talking about. They actually hunt for bounties.
Story: 5/10
The story may seem impressive at the start, but it shows a completely different setting of how the bounty hunters try to hunt down bounties like I said up top. It's more forgettable than the anime, but it doesn't really show romance. And if this even took place after the

anime, why doesn't Spike never talk about Julia, Vicious or Vincent? Also, why doesn't Jet talk about his ex-love? And why doesn't Faye talk about Wintey like in the anime? And since why does Ed have a friend? The story really explains on how to be lazy and all, but in Volume 3 they soon set out to hunt for bounties after the warm start-up in Volume 2. They get new bounty hunters, some are bossy, some are hyper, and some are merciless. Which doesn't thrill me but might thrill people who've seen the anime of course.
Overall the story could've been better. It does get boring when you continue reading the manga, but it just was O.K. I guess.
Art 7/10
The art, I guess isn't too bad. It still needed to suit the story more I mean look at manga(s) like Full Moon o Sagashite! They do that. But not this one, it was just nice, but could've been better.
Character 6/10
The characters were O.K. they are a lot much better and have a lot more personality in the anime than they do in the manga. They were kind of OOC despite the fact that the manga was created before the anime started like in the Shooting Stars manga, but Spike could've been a little more mischevious, Jet could've talked more, Faye could've acted more tomboy-ish and Ed could've been a little more hyper than that.
Enjoyment: 5/10
After I heard that the Shooting Star manga and Cowboy Bebop weren't as good as the anime or at least O.K., I decided to give it a try and see if I like them. I only read a little of Shooting Star, but Cowboy Bebop, I never thought I would get this bored of it. It was way too short and I know the first manga is going to be short too. Actually, I get tiresome reading any book period especially when you're at school, but books like Full Moon o Sagashite or Fruits Basket keep me enthused and waiting to read more.
Overall: 5/10
Cowboy Bebop seemed to have an interesting start, but from the other manga they created before this, I'm sure it's more interesting and suited to the series. The problem is the art and characters, I mean, Look at manga(s) like Lupin III or Samurai Champloo (at least I haven't read it yet)... they don't have a problem copying the art or characters from the anime into the manga. Look, I'm sorry if I gave this manga too many titles, but I recommend you to maybe try something different like Samurai Champloo or something.
