Preliminary Spoiler

I decided that my first review would be of my number one manga series of all time. I was shocked to see how few people have actually read this series when it's just so great and easily surpasses the more popular long running manga series out there, in just 14 volumes.

Story

The story for Animal Land is like a Roller coaster ride, in the best possible way. Things keep escalating and the story really evolves (heh) throughout the manga. It doesn't waste anytime doing what it wants to do and had me hooked the whole way through.

The creator has done an amazing job at showing ...

I was indecisive between scoring this a 7 or an 8. But I have decided it must land itself an 8. The art style is definitely not for everyone. This isn't a story about some cute and fuzzy animals. There's sweetness to be sure, and tears, but it is the struggle of life with some really strange looking critters. Many of whom have oddly human faces, I suppose to more easily put across their expressions.

But despite that oddness there's still something engaging about reading this. All centered upon a baby who brings something unexpected to the world, more than just being a bundle to be ...

“I think it would be nice if all animals got along”

Welcome to Animal Country, a world filled with millions of different kinds of animals. Some eat plants, some eat meat, some eat both. Each animal has their own unique voice they use to communicate, but they are unable to understand the voices of animals that don’t use their cry. In this world there exists no universal language. Thus, it is a savage place where the strong prey upon the weak and one must fight to survive. It is a planet much like the one called earth, the only difference being that on this planet ...

Mod Note: This review was initially posted for the one-shot, Konjiki no Gash Bell!! Gaiden, and was subsequently merged into Doubutsu no Kuni.

Hahaha I may be overrating this gaiden but it truly is a must-read for Konjiki no Gash/Gash Bell/Zatch Bell lovers. It covers a bit of Gash's life after becoming the Demon/Mamodon King. It's funny, heartwarming and undoubtedly awesome. It also shows how Gash still has strong feelings for ex-partner Kiyomaro. If you loved zatchbell as much as I did then you'll love the reappearance of of past characters, like Tio, koruru, and my personal favorite... the great Umagon.

Even though the mangaka claimed that this story was never done before in my opinion it does give a bit of a tarzan feeling in the beginning. Other than that the story is great and he still manages to stay unique. The art is in my opinion a bit childish which fit the story but also very detailed at some parts. He really makes all the animals spring to life and the characters stay as funny and great as in zatch bell.

I wouldn't recommend it to every one, because you have to get used to the art and the type of humour of the ...

The story started at animal land, place where was never seen a single human. Lonely tanuki named Monoko find a human baby Tarouza, and become his mother. Later Tarouza realize that he can understand other animals cry, so he decided to make world there plant-eating and meat-eating animals can live together.

We can split whole manga in two parts, first then Tarouza is growing and acknowledge all sides of wild world of animal land. And the first problem i have is in how Doubutsu no Kuni looks. Its has it "cute and funny" style to it, and even trying to throw couple of jokes ...

i had to stop reading this because im completely uninterested in the tower arc, ill finish it EVENTUALLY but not now, and if youre curious why i STILL decided to rank this a 9, then keep reading

story, 8: i first started this manga when i saw the picture of jyu and giller on mudae, a discord bot (LOL) and i thought they looked cool so i looked the manga up, and from what i could tell it was a manga about a human living with animals and i expected it to be pretty lighthearted, and lighthearted isnt what i got at all. doubutsu no kuni ...

I really wanted to love this series, but I felt the second half was much weaker than the first half. Animal Land is enjoyable, and there are a lot of elements that can be enjoyed by multiple different audiences, but the second half seemed more rushed and less emotionally involving than before the time skip.

The story is based on a boy who is raised by a tanuki, and he is trying to create a world where all animals can coexist together, but while doing this, the young boy Taroza, must also find a way to restore humanity to the world. The plot is very ...
