After reading this manga, I can honestly say I never want to hear the word "senpai" again. In this short 24 chapter manga you probably hear the word senpai a thousand times. It got to the point where I wanted to kill myself every time I saw the word. And trust me, on each page it's there at least 30 times. Despite this, I still continued onto it because of the creepy vibe I got from it.

I can't talk about why I enjoy this series if I don't give away what happens in this series, so please, don't read this if you haven't read the whole manga yet. Or at least, what's been translated/released so far.
First of all, I'd like to talk about the art. To be quite frank, it does its job. The characters aren't extravagant, and the environments don't stick out that much. The only real way I can describe the drawings panel by panel is that they're just standard. You could stick these drawings into another romance manga and there really wouldn't be any difference. Normally, the art ... Mar 31, 2013
Well figured there should be a second review on the story now that its done. Overall the story(whats there of it) is exactly what it should be and does it's job well considering the 24 chapters that the manga has, and i would easily place it at a 9 for the genre(dont expect a primarily comedy/romance to match up with adventure/dramas).
As for art i'll agree with the previous reviewer that it wasn't really anything special, i still kind of liked it so i'll rate it around a 8(6 for normal and an extra 2 points added to the average due to the 10s on ... Jun 18, 2015
Koharu no Hibi is one of my favorite mangas right now because it is one of the few mangas based on a stalker/yandere and it is perhaps the only one about a completely realistic relationship with one.
Story: 8 - Koharu no Hibi is the most vanilla manga I have ever read even though it is about such a controversial and sometimes disgusting (to some people) topic. The story revolves completely around romance and subtlety. A lot of the time, you will feel like the main character is reacting to something in an underwhelming or overwhelming way, but when you think about things, the turn ... Mar 10, 2014
first, sorry for my english :p
Sweet stroy, a bit creepy, and scared me better than horror manga, I even didnt know I must smile or cringe. Kaharu and Akira one of weird couple I ever seen (or just Kaharu, lol). Really, I dont know what should I do if I get a girl like Kaharu....pfftttt but Akira, you are the best or the worst. The easy change emotions of Kaharu and what Akira did made my tension up down. The daily life of them (or just kaharu) is really interesing in many ways. Really good art. I really enjoyed it. Kaharu chara design officially cute ... Feb 25, 2015
Have you ever started watching something that you knew was going to go bad and the whole time you're just waiting for it to jump off the slope? That is what I felt like when I started reading this. So I kept reading, and reading, and reading. What the hell? Where is the payoff? I felt like Lou from Hot Tub Time Machine waiting for the hotel worker's arm to get hacked off.
You take a straight up yandere girl and put her with a guy that is bland in every since of the word. She wasn't quite up to Yuno standards but she also wasn't ... Mar 22, 2016
I feel as if this manga came after a boom of the Yandere archetype, now we have it included at least as a partial feature in almost every harem story but I'd say that before Mirai Nikki hit it big it wasn't very common. For example Ranma 1/2 had a "crazy obsessed girl" who barely relates to the modern standards of Yandere even if the plot utility is the same. Maybe it has to do with japanesse culture caring too much for calm and nice girls, so editors wouldn't pass a sympathetic proactive girl until someone made the most over the top one, or maybe

This isn't the worst manga I've ever read. This isn't even a bad manga. It's just mediocre. The manga attempts to subvert the yandere trope in the most predictable way possible. It's very boring. The Yandere is not interesting at all, and the MC is also boring as all fuck, just a generic nice guy. I'm not going to spoil the ending but the ending is pretty much exactly what you'd think it was. I don't understand how anyone could read through all of this, and I'm saying that as someone who read through all of this.
It's ... Dec 31, 2020
It's ok. there are ideas that are underused as a differential that, unlike most, the prota "yields" to yandere, and does not necessarily want to escape it. But it is only in the field of ideas. Sad.
But, I think her biggest hit is precisely the rhythm and atmosphere behind it, since the girl is disturbed, but the author almost always shows it as an emotional scene (OMG, look at what she does for love) or funny (kkkkkk crazy girl bro), which gives this atmosphere of "she is strange, maybe the limits have not been reached yet and that gives me". Which is also the biggest shot ... May 20, 2018
Despite the psychological genre flag, the series consists of mostly feelsgoodman moments and has a wholesome feel.
It's very difficult to write a review for this without spoiling a lot of things, and you'll know what I mean when you read it. But if you're tired of reading series' with classic textbook yanderes then this is the manga for you. It's got those scary moments that make you feel for the MC, but they occur differently than what "usually" happens in manga. This series is very engaging because the characters are so openly passionate and I gladly read everything in every speech bubble without missing a panel. ... Dec 22, 2020
tl;dr: A manga with an interesting heroine that’s kind of like a non-scary yandere, but that is pretty weak in everything surrounding that.
This manga's main point of interest is its heroine, Koharu. She’s kind of a yandere I guess, in that she clearly does not follow common sense at all and is quite obsessed, but at the same time yandere are generally supposed to be scary to at least some degree, but Koharu really isn’t at all. The fear of yandere generally arises from the fear that the yandere may do something violent or harmful to their love interesting or to those around them, but ... Jul 2, 2021
Although not the best, I think it is quite nice for what it is, a romantic manga with a bit of sick love to spice it up!
(And a couple of cute panels!) It's only sin is having a lack of many tropes that are normally waited in a romance manga, and even a more general idea of manga. The authour keeps it simple, having a big focus on romance and less on the slice of life side of it. This simplicity gives a lack of struggle to their love that actually affect the plot greatly. Even though the lack of struggle, the authour does a good work on ... Jun 1, 2024
Good, unique story. If you like yanderes you will enjoy this.
+ : The girl is perfectly unsettling, and the plot will probably not go the way you think it will at first. The story's decent, so is the art. The MC is the biggest weakness, but we're used to these useless wimps by now. At least this one finds his spine from time to time. He will never really decide on anything, always going with the flow - but whatever. More room for him to get trapped in the yandere's web, so it's not as bad as yandere-less manga. This perfectly scratched my itch. |
