Synopsis

Kasumi Arai was only six years old when the world plunged into chaos: earthquakes emerged, diseases spread like wildfire, and society began to crumble in the clutches of an eternal winter. Her only solace in the present is an old, abandoned stationery store that withstood the test of time amidst the disorder of the world. While there, she often uses a vast array of colorful pens to draw her favorite anime character, Miracle Momo, just to pass time.

After reminiscing with his friend about the days before the end of the world, a young man decides to make a trip back to his family's stationery store and discovers Kasumi's drawing within. Feeling nostalgic, the man sketches the same anime character, triggering a correspondence between the two unlikely individuals.

Woah, that was truly wholesome.
The art by Kento Matsuura (I met him thanks to "Honomieru Shounen") is beautiful. The drawings are simple but effective when it comes to conveying emotions and feelings, and at the same time, bringing this kind of "after the disaster" atmosphere.
It's a 54-page one-shot that feels fluid (and short) to read, with a "cute" development and a hopeful conclusion. With really few characters you can feel the message and the emotions they have inside them. The story was written by Sekka Iwata, the author of "Magilumiere", it was my first time reading a work of him.
It will only take you ...

Hello how are you?
I read this work attracted by the art of the cover where warm pastel colors are used against the cold and gray background. And based on that is more or less what the work is about. It's an intimate story that just needs someone to talk and someone to listen in the depths of an abandoned art store for you to feel comforted. It's a one-shot and in just a couple of pages the author managed to make me feel hopeful that even if the situation doesn't work out, the protagonists will be fine with that little link between them. It's a ...

Last night I read this One-shot called "Sekai no Owari no Pen Friend".
It is one of those short stories that have a unique charm, a pure magic that makes you smile in the midst of disaster. Three characters, two scenarios. The result? A beautiful ending. A lost gem out there.

"In a post-apocalyptic stationery store, a girl and a former animator exchange letters. A dystopian correspondence story."
That's the synopsis of it and you don't need anything else. An encounter between a man and a girl who yearn with magic for what they love so much or knew how to love.

To finish, I want to keep ...
