I'm a huge fan of the original novel and have never found an adaptation that I thought lived up to Bram Stoker's wonderful work. As such I was really skeptical when a friend recommended this, but now I absolutely adore it!! I love how Sakamoto added LGBT and disabled representation as well as adding some people of colour and making Mina more of a feminist without taking away from the original story. Sp far he's managed to keep a lot of small details as well as larger plot points of the original novel while still making it his own work. I'm so excited to see ... where he takes our cast and highly recommend this even if you aren't a fan of the original novel.

Overall, shinichi sakamoto is a really confusing man who does not ever convey to the majority, after reading 13 chapters, just like how i finished reading innocent and innocent rouge, it left me perplexed and confused, what kind of message did he want to leave i asked myself?

On one hand there's boys kissing boys and on the other hand in each of his stories since kokou no hito there's the strong aspect of "God' and religion in each of his stories, and he doesn't seem to be mocking, disrespecting or shunning one or the other, unlike in vinland saga where the author deliberately puts dirt ... in the eyes of people who are religious.

It has made me come to the conclusion that shinichi sakamoto has concluded that all europeans were secretly gay back in the day, and that he was simply trying to convey and live what he thought the european people of that era was doing behind the historical records, and i suppose he is right, seeing america today has got me impressed that he was able to guess such a thing, props to you shinichi sakamoto.

the art is a 10/10
but this manga shot itself in the foot,why you ask?
All mc's are GAY and there is a clear lgbtq thing.
a real disappointment, after berserk this is probably the best art style I have ever seen in manga and the story it is taken from is also great but why does it have to be LGBTQ??. a gay character wouldn't have really bothered me ath all, but all the characters are gay and then you have that one dude who is sometimes a girl, sometimes guy or something. a real disappointment, if they had taken out the entire LGBTQ theme I would ... certainly have seen this in the top hundred just because of the drawing style, its based on bram stookers dracula and thier was nothing about LGBTQ or bieng Gay and progresive leftwing ideolgie in that story. i dont think its a good idea force ideolgies in manga ath all and this is the perfect exampel of that
