Overall, shinichi sakamoto is a really confusing man who does not ever convey to the majority, after reading 13 chapters, just like how i finished reading innocent and innocent rouge, it left me perplexed and confused, what kind of message did he want to leave i asked myself?
On one hand there's boys kissing boys and on the other hand in each of his stories since kokou no hito there's the strong aspect of "God' and religion in each of his stories, and he doesn't seem to be mocking, disrespecting or shunning one or the other, unlike in vinland saga where the author deliberately puts dirt

I don't normally write reviews, just because they take long if you want to be productive about what you say. It takes a real masterpiece to make me write a review. This is possibly the best horror manga that I've seen for a while. The art is absolutely stunning, to the point where I've got an entire folder dedicated to the astonishing, picturesque landscapes and much more. Diving a bit deeper into the manga, you will also see that the story is incredibly complex, even going as far as to just not make sense until you've read it like 3 times. The characters are also

twinks vs. michael jackson: the manga
good: - the most ethereal & beautifu panels you will ever see in a manga - the most vile & horrifying panels you will ever see in a manga - gays not so good: - confusing plot - characters actions don't quite make sense ... May 3, 2024
Really very disappointed by this manga. I've just finished the 2nd volume and it left me with a nasty sour taste. I was still hopeful about the series' potential, especially with the arrival of Van Hellsing, but my hopes were totally dashed by chapter XIV. I already had a lot of trouble with the characters (except perhaps Jo Suwa, who paradoxically remains the most intriguing of the group), but these last chapters confirmed that feeling.
I loathe the characters in this manga. I feel no compassion for them. Mina is barely interesting. Arthur is just a cliché of the rich, privileged white kid, petty and haughty. ... Jul 5, 2021
Sakamoto Shinichi has truly blessed us with another timepiece masterpiece!!!
I have never read/seen the story of Dracula, so I can't say how good of an adaption/reimagined story this is. So far i'm digging the plot, it's one of those stories that makes more sense the more you read. It sort of just throws you into the story, the introduction is very brief, the action starts right away. This goes without saying but the art is incredible. The amount of details, shading, and time spent on each panel just blows my mind. I purposely read this manga as slow as possible to visually take in all ... Aug 10, 2021
I'm a huge fan of the original novel and have never found an adaptation that I thought lived up to Bram Stoker's wonderful work. As such I was really skeptical when a friend recommended this, but now I absolutely adore it!! I love how Sakamoto added LGBT and disabled representation as well as adding some people of colour and making Mina more of a feminist without taking away from the original story. Sp far he's managed to keep a lot of small details as well as larger plot points of the original novel while still making it his own work. I'm so excited to see

This manga is some gorgeous, intense, confusing, disturbing, mind bending MADNESS! The art and gothic horror atmosphere are absolutely incredible. The storytelling and characters, not so much. This manga is absolutely carried by its gorgeous, ethereal, and disturbing art. The storytelling itself is a bit confusing though... and the characters are cliched stereotypes. Still the incredible atmosphere & gorgeous art more than make up for these shortcomings.
DRCL recontextualizes the story of Dracula as taking place in an elite Victorian boarding school. All the characters of the novel meanwhile are recast as students and faculty of said Victorian Boarding School. Oddly enough even in doing so ... Jan 23, 2022
#DRCL Midnight Children is absolutely insane. If you thought Innocent could get pretty out-there at moments, imagine what the same guy could do with a supernatural horror story. It might be the translation (self-professed to be low-quality) or the way it's paced, but absolutely everything comes out of left field. There is little exposition, and absurd sights are shown without buildup, leaving the entire story so far soaked in whiplash. The art is absurdly good, even with the lost detail of magazine scans, helped by the freedom of cosmic horror, and the low-page-count monthly release schedule. It's very short at the moment, and looks to

very disappointing, the art style is incredible and I love the idea of basing it on Bram Stocker's Dracula, but unfortunately there seems to be a certain political LGBTQ/progressive influence in it. it just doesn't fit into this type of story and doesn't belong in manga in general I think, I tried it but it was sometimes too bmuch for me,nothing agaisnt a gay charecter but a hole cast feels just out of place and that + the lgbtq influnce is just to much for me. or whatever but a little more true to the original story would have been much better. a real ... |
