A list of manga with the most realistic artwork I can think of. Some titles have their own style added into the manga, this is totally fine - so cartoonish features and anatomically incorrect proportions are fine - so long as backgrounds or character art is high quality and reminiscent of realistic imagery/CGI then its eligible for this list.

-In case of artists, it will be clarified, both in the current and previous works
-I will consider artists of manga versions of a Light Novel that had anime, as disassociated from the franchise, so I can include more authors in this list

Series that have gothic and/or vicrotian or edwardian feel/setting/aesthetic. Periods like 19-century Europe and French Revolution are included!

Great manga under 10k members (as of 05/02/2023)

Manga recommendations given in the Anime Collective YouTube channel, I’ll only add titles mentioned in recommendation videos and in series review videos, so I will not be counting the ones mentioned in manga hauls or edition reviews(even if the latter also reviews the story)

brief, underrated works that stand out to me visually or thematically
key themes: gore, boy's love, youth, despair
most of these contain on-page sexual assault and other extremities
still a work in progress!

Manga with art styles that are memorable/captivating because of their distinctiveness in addition to being detail-rich, vivid/realistic, stylised, clean & polished, and fairly aesthetically pleasing. Effective composition & panelling are taken into account too for an overall rich visual experience.

These works are such feasts for the eyes that I feel compelled to read them even when I am not particularly interested in the stories/plot.
