Both manga have similar themes in that the main heroine is a Monster girl and I'm not talking of those cutesy ones like Monster Museum but actual Monsters. Both have gore and even cannibalism. If you are into girls who can and probably will kill you, these two are for you.

These two are kinda similar. 1. Both have heroines who follow the main character(a guy) and has a more dangerous monster side to them. 2. Both girls are also tempted to kill the main character and are romantically interested in him. 3. They are both Seinen and supernatural.

They both contain a onee-san type character, that is not human as the female protagonist, which look after the MC. Both the female MC can also be counted as borderline obsessive. They also have very similar art sytle (clean & detailed). However, Hachigatsu is much more plot heavy while Ane Naru Mono is more slice of life-es.

Design of the devils and youkai are somewhat similar but it's mostly the way the story is told that makes me think they are comparable. I am fairly certain that if you like one you'd enjoy the other.

Horror folklore/urban legend - but waifuized. Yeah, that's pretty much it.

Both titles are the new-wave "waifu eat waifu protec" monster-girl psychological dramas. Premises are extremely similar - a tormented protagonist is being "protected" from supernatural entities trying to "eat" them by a monstrous shapeshifter of tremendous power, however the said protector has an ulterior motive, which is to consume the protagonist themselves. Both series have extremely good art and a bit complex and not particularly straight-forward romantic element. There is a sense of doom and gloom premating both works suggesting some sort of tragic backstory and/or conclusion.
