While one series stars a native American, and the other stars a black man. Both series are stories about the main character fighting in the name of their people and getting revenge against racist white men in a wild west setting. The style of the action scenes are very similar between the two, as well, and feature lots of blood and gore.

Both follow a main character who is a complete badass and cannot be killed. Both involve the experience of oppressed ethnic minorities who suffer from both literal and cultural genocide. Both involves various factions on the move, uncovering intriguing mysteries, and working against each other with the reader never knowing who will come out on top.

Another series of a sort of Western (of course Trigun is a scifi mix) of a mysterious man on a mission. While Red is fueled by violent revenge, Vash is taken by woeful pacifism. But hey, Knives and Wolfwood are there for that. Despite its setting, Red tends a bit in the ridiculous guns Trigun's Yasuhiro Nightow loves so much.

Both this mangas are in my opinion incredibly underrated. While red is set in the United States and tells an unconventional tale of indians and cowboys, featuring all the major characters of the classic western movies, Gamaran is set in a more "traditional" Japanese world. Both have quite a big deal of graphic violence and are focused on fighting, but in both cases the backstory is magistrally developed and the art is just perfect. Moreover, the MC's are amazingly written and designed, and same goes for the villains. In both mangas the MC has to face always stronger enemies to get to the final challenge  read more

Indian warriors seeking revenge against their opressors. Red is more of a traditional action series while Redman Princess throws in some ecchi too.

Both of these manga feature evil American colonialists that slaughter native indians as the antagonists. Plenty of violence included.

Both are violent tales of revenge making the most of their unique settings, both feature a character as a baby being rescued from the womb of a dead woman, both have protagonists with oversized weapons. both have 10/10 art style and both have a villain that is definitely gay for one of the main characters

In both of these manga, there are antagonists who are American colonizers.

Both Sky Hawk and Red are about Japanese characters coming to America after Japan’s Bakumatsu period of civil turmoil, and getting involved in Native Americans’ struggle for survival. The main difference is in how it’s handled: Sky Hawk is focused on the Japanese characters teaching the Lakota characters Japanese combat techniques and fighting for them (kind of like a Japanese ‘Dances With Wolves’), while in Red the Japanese characters are more on the sidelines. Red’s narrative is centered mainly on Indian characters.
