I'd give this a 9/10 because i really love crazy stuff like this, it's very graphic and violent.
It talks about this police officer who makes criminals have a taste of their own bread, since the law didn't do anything about their crimes.
I love to see bad guys get what they deserve, however there's no plot and since we're only at the beginning i wish it won't be about only about him killing and torturing criminals, but the police finding out there are missing people and etc, we'll see.
Bugs me this manga is so underrated, hope it gets more popular in the future, it's

Art: 10/10
No issues with the art, I honestly really enjoyed it. Character: 9/10 I love the main character, he reminds me heavily of light yagami in a sense. His way of going about his "moral code" or something of the other was extremely interesting. Story: 10/10 Honestly, I was conflicted when I came to the end of this manga. I didn't know what was right and what was wrong, I was left wondering if my perception of the characters was even right, what morals really are and just how vile can humans be. It left me reeling and rethinking things in all the right ways. The plot/story, for ... Aug 5, 2022
Brutal: Satsujin Kansatsukan no Kokuhaku follows the life of Hiroki Dan, a detective of the homicide squad who has a secret identity: he is actually a serial killer.
The manga opens by instilling in the reader a feeling of distrust of the police, powerless in some cases beyond the reach of the law, where doing justice to the victims seems an unattainable end, thus causing malfunctions and abuse. And that’s where Dan comes in, taking care of the unpunished in his own way. The first case presented involves an assassin, Souzen Yoshi, clearly inspired by the terrifying crimes actually committed by “the Otaku assassin,” Tsutomu Miyazaki. In fact, ... Sep 27, 2020
This story is so good!
All about how bad people get the bad ending they deserve. Our protagonist gets revenge against criminals or bad people who could not be judged by the law. Each story last about 2 chapters. Each story is good!!!!! Our protagonist tortures them and kills them. All their deaths are so satisfying. You dont even feel guilty for the bad people. You're just on the side of the protagonist even though you know what he is doing is not right but at the same time, feels so right. You just want them dead and thats honestly the best part of ... Art: 10/10
Readers won't be disappointed with the art style, it's clear, it's thrilling, and the details on it are excellent. Especially during the heart-stopping moments, whenever the protagonist makes an entrance, and after the end or climax of the incident, the change in the style will definitely make you stop in your tracks; and revel that particular panel. Character: 10/10 Readers can say that the character is similar to Light Yagami from Death Note, especially with his perspective on "justice".There will be moments when you'll be cheering him on, but often, you'll be questioning "Is this actually ok?", before dismissing it or going along with it. The ... Aug 14, 2021
It's pretty decent. Nothing special.
I don't like how they put more effort and pages into explaining what the "bad people" did than the actual punisment. I started the manga believing I would feel satisfied with seeing trash getting what trash deserves, but most punishments are not that satisfying and are kept rather short. Because of the immense hype I expected more and was left a bit disappointed. Overall it's a good manga with an interesting storyline. The artstyle is pretty and I hope we'll learn more about our mc. Due to the less information we have about him he feels more like a side character. I'm excited for the moment ... Mar 7, 2022
I'm biased towards aesthetically pleasing art styles and hot ikemen. The art is probably the only salvation of this manga and heightens the experience considerably. If the art was not so good, I would probably rate it a 3, because the rhyme and reason of the plot feels like it was written by a middle schooler. There is too much exposition and deus ex machina as with a lot of animanga nowadays (supposedly forgivable however, given the episodic nature); the villains are extremely one-dimensional to the point of their cruelty being unrealistic; the build-up to graphic, cathartic scenes do not live up to anticipation. Therefore,

I've always liked psychological, horror, and/or mystery stories whether it be movie, novel, anime, or manga. And this one takes the cake for me. The way it focuses on the stories and perspective of the other people leaves a thrill of mystery towards the main character.
Each case or story drew me in and got me so immersed in each story, and the personality of the main character was filled with confidence, arrogance, charisma and the perception that they doing the right thing. The perfect mixture of a lovable psycho. Plus the gore and questionable morals throughout the story and characters are spine chilling. and I ... Aug 7, 2021
I picked this up after hearing a fair bit about it, it was exactly what i was expecting , which isn't bad at all. I do feel like this would be better as a show since the story moves very episodically.
I do enjoy that the main character has other hobbies or quirks that make him a charming and enjoyable and that he has a motivation. I'll admit though the content is like the title, Brutal, when it came to some scenes i do wish it wasn't as dragged out like in scene regarding assault. I overall did enjoy it though despite that. Some parts ... Jan 11, 2024
The art is beautiful but that's it. If you are into villainous ikemen and overly dramatic bloody stories then this manga is for you. If you are into a sensible story with well-built characters then stay away from this. To be honest, why does this manga even have the investigator in its name when there is no investigation at all????
The villain in each episode is overly cruel for no reason? It's just like they were born with the "haha let's make everyone suffer for fun" disease. The main protag is handsome and has a somewhat twisted moral, yes. But how the hell did he catch the ... Apr 7, 2022
The manga was good, I went into this blind so I could watch spooky rice's video on this afterward.
I feel like this manga was just gore for show. It had literally no reason for anything to happen. This whole manga is just Dan randomly finding evil people and killing them with so many plot holes like the fact he can murder a celebrity and not get caught and stuff like that. Another thing is that Dan has literally no personality other than the fact that he has a justice complex. The side characters also have literally no use to the story other than just ... Sep 1, 2022
Art: 9/10
No problem with the art style whatsoever. The best part of it is the gore (obviously). Story: 10/10 I've always been a fan of stories with an anthology-like structure. Each story is loosely connected via Dan but, ultimately, has nothing to do with each other. Each story has Dan finding out about someone's wrongdoings and how he deals with them. Characters: 9/10 I love the protagonist, Hiroki Dan! He's like a mysterious vigilante who deals justice as fittingly as possible. I also like how he has flaws t help balance him out. As for the others, there are two major groups: the bad people who end up being ... Feb 1, 2024
The art style and shocking introduction to a brutal scene is your first slap in the face to the horrors that this manga is about to showcase. Cutting to a more mundane office scene is where you meet our main protagonist, Dan !
Due to this manga being on hiatus for almost the past two years as of writing this, I hesitate to give a score of 10, as the main story has not been fully fleshed out year and Dan's past has only been teased. That being said, I still definitely recommend, there are only 19 chapters (nice and short read) !! This is a ... |
