Since the author is coming out with a new manga, it was the perfect time to read this manga which is also done by them. Hooo boy, this manga is such a shitshow... get ready folks. Garbage plot, garbage characters, decent/ok art. 3/10.

The plot is about Kyo who leaves his hometown in the countryside to go to school in Tokyo. He maintains a long distanced relationship with his girlfriend. He ends up cheating on his girlfriend with a married woman (who also cheats on her husband).

This manga explores the complexities of loving someone and how people have different ideas of what it's like ... to love based on their experiences. How you can still love someone even though they all have their misgivings and faults. How love is more complex than what's apparent at the surface. What does it truly mean to love someone?

Every major character sucks in this story. Kyo sucks because he thinks it's fine to cheat on his girlfriend then lie to her face while thinking it's fine to have sex with the woman because they don't have feelings for each other. The married woman sucks because she does everything she does to see if her husband actually loves her, yes she cheats because of this reason. Sa-chan dates Kyo in order to get him to fall in love with her aka she's trying to fix him and to no one's surprise she gets hurt herself. The husband of the woman privately invades her life and has her under surveillance to keep track of what she's doing. None of the characters are able to make sane decisions that will strengthen and fix their relationships. Every assumption they make continues to spiral downwards. It never occurred to them that communication is an option, that they could just discuss what they are feeling with their partner. The author does manage to give a backstory to each character to flesh them out and make us understand their motivations for their actions.

The only characters that are decent are Isesaki, Sa-chan's classmate who likes her, and Kyo's high school classmate who has an unrequited love for him. They have a normal idea of what love is like. But I guess the author wanted to write a story with more complex, broken characters.

As we progress throughout the story, characters do go through development. Kyo learns what it's like to truly love someone, Sa-chan learns that there's a limit to how long you can delude yourself thinking that you're truly happy in a relationship and how long you can keep forcing yourself to think everything's fine. The woman and her husband finally communicate after all their nonsensical reasoning and realize that they both love each other.

The development of the characters is great, but the ending completely ruins the story. We get a time skip of Kyo who is now a middle-aged salaryman, he ends up going on this date with this girl. It is revealed that the girl is the daughter of the Kunikidas who is the married couple in this story. So Kyo cheated with the wife and is now going to date the daughter? The ending is left ambiguous as he does find out her identity and the father did tell him a few years ago not to go after the daughter since she looks very similar to the mother. So we can't assume he will go on to marry the daughter. The last chapter should not have been added as it doesn't contribute to the story at all. The only purpose the last chapter serves was to give a consequence to the wife cheating on her husband and the punishment is that Kyo could potentially be ruining the family again by starting a relationship with their daughter. Would have been a 5/10 if it wasn't for the ending.

The art is decent but inconsistent at some parts. It manages to have a beautiful feel and eyes especially are well-drawn. The art does add to the atmosphere of scenes and expressions can be well done. It also manages to have a distinct style as well if we compare it to other romance mangas.

Overall, this story is short but is completely ruined by a garbage ending saying that people don't really change and by sending a bitter message to the audience. As well as having characters that are selfish and only think for themselves.

So my friend told me to "drop everything" I was doing to read an absolute dumpster fire of a manga, which I proceeded to waste an entire hour on.

Character (8/10):
Honestly one of the best explorations of the complexities of romance and personal emotions - it was quite interesting to understand the motivations behind the conduct of several characters, and even prompted a decent deal of reflection of real life interactions that I have observed.

Art (4/10):
Pretty meh tbh, many characters (especially Misuzu) didn't really stand out at first and I got really confused.

A story, the purpose of a good story is to invoke emotions within a reader. You might read a lot of negative reviews that relate to the "enjoyment" of the ending. In true essence a story that is different and unique will make you feel emotions that are unimaginable. This story will do that. I have never felt of doing anything similar to this manga, but I have imagined the perspective. At times it is hard to relate to the main character, but do not let this deter you from engaging with this manga.

tl;dr: A manga about the pain that cheating in a relationship can cause that has pretty rough writing overall and an especially bad ending.

This manga is about a college student named Katagiri cheating on his girlfriend Osanai. It very much does not take this lightly and it emphasizes how much pain doing so causes. Osanai is put through the wringer and you will end up feeling really sorry for her. However, Katagiri ultimately ends up suffering significantly more, though it’s not written as him getting his just deserts and something the reader should feel happy about. The manga tried to give Katagiri depth in terms ... of fleshing out why he cheated on Osanai by fleshing out his past trauma and the issues he had in his relationship with Osanai. There was also character development showing him becoming a better person. As such, it’s written such that we should feel bad too for the suffering that Katagiri goes through. However, everything is handled pretty badly and thus it doesn’t really feel like its accomplishing any of what it sets out to do.

The manga also isn’t all that great in terms of side characters. There’s one side character that is handled pretty well, Misuzu. Though ultimately she doesn’t have all that big of a role and feels wasted. All the rest of the side characters either have negligible presence, or are just incredibly annoying. The second couple focused on in this manga is especially annoying. They have an unpleasantly large presence in the last volume. And the rest of the last volume is centered around emotional moments where we’re supposed to sympathize with Katagiri. As such the last volume overall is just painful to get through.

The biggest issue with the last volume, and the manga overall, is definitely the ending though. For lack of a better way to explain it, it’s just really dumb. It’s hard to describe why without going into spoilers, but I genuinely cannot even begin to understand why the mangaka chose to end things like that. If she wanted to convey that life moves on, there are clearly better ways to do it. If she wanted to show Katagiri suffering, there are better ways to do it. If she wanted to just throw out something shocking, there are better ways to do it. If she wanted to go for a ‘closing the loop’ type ending, there are better ways to do it. I have no clue what the mangaka was trying to convey or trying to make me feel with that ending. It was a rushed ending, but I feel the issues are larger than something that just extending the ending could have fixed. It’s just bizarre.

The art is decent enough. The style is pretty typical josei, but this is a shounen manga so that makes it pretty unique. The designs worked well enough though they were pretty generic. Also, for a manga so heavily centered around sex, it doesn’t really show any of it. This manga surprisingly really isn’t ecchi at all.

This manga left me speechless, in both the best and the worst way.

Our main character, Kyo, is pretty apathic about most things in life, he feels empty. He decides to give the next girl who asks him out a chance .Which just happens to be a Sa-Chan. +++ you might get a light spoiler but I just wanna explain how I felt while reading this manga+++

I actually enjoyed reading this one for a very dark reason LOL..I mean kudos to the writer if the goal is for me (us) to hate the main lead then she very well succeeded hahahah... also this manga also explores about pretext of what and how to LOVE really.. is forgiveness always the answer.. (its different for everyone that's for sure). This manga is men POV btw.

As soon as I knew about the male leads character I can't stop reading it anymore because I just can't wait ...
