I’ll keep this review short.. Needless to say that this is actually a good Josen, slice of life anime. Yes, the theme is about Jazz music, set up by the year 1966.. but it’s not all about music, it’s also about finding people to lean on during those hard times.. and experience new and different things that may broaden your hozrizon.

Over all I totally enjoy watching this anime, it’s just that the ending felt like a rush.. and that it became one sided, it’s always Bon who’s running, going after Sen… and I didn’t like that premise.. gladly I read that the manga have ... a different leap of the ending and I’m glad I read the last 8 chapter of the manga =) its closes the gap better. The manga ending is more heart warming, so if you’re like me , I really suggest for you to check out the manga too..

Nevertheless, this is a very good anime , glad I watched it.

I just finished this manga (just now that I'm writing this) and I'm kinda hesitant on leaving a review right away but I'll jus do so.. 'coz I remember on one of Io Sakisaka's writers corner, she wrote in there that she hope for this Manga to leave even just a glimpse warmth to the readers; then she'll knew that its a Job well done (something like that).. and I must say this manga just did that for me.

It's not a really unique plot or anything but this shoujo manga pretty much capture my heart, took me back to my own high school life, the ... leads aren't the only one who were well written, even sa supporting characters are. It's a good quick calm read..

I mean there are parts where you'll be like, nahh.. that issue isn't even worth fighting about but well, that is high school right for us right.. issues that when we look back now will be just like a mehh for us. we were really kinda stupid back then.

Female lead is typical shojou character but there's something about her that's just adorable. Male lead is well written too, although I am not rooting for him tbh, the deuteragonist is the one I'm really rooting for for this.. I really hold up until the end that I wish that was the case ( even tho I know It won't happen) not a spoiler just the truth around all Love triangle haha. I love the friendhship part of this one, not overly done.

I really like Io's writers corner.. I really feel like Im talking to the mangaka .. I give this a 8/10 solely because I enjoyed how the writer wrote it.. maybe its nothing extravagant of a plot but it'll let give your hearth some warmth.

I actually enjoyed reading this one for a very dark reason LOL..I mean kudos to the writer if the goal is for me (us) to hate the main lead then she very well succeeded hahahah... also this manga also explores about pretext of what and how to LOVE really.. is forgiveness always the answer.. (its different for everyone that's for sure). This manga is men POV btw.

As soon as I knew about the male leads character I can't stop reading it anymore because I just can't wait ... for the writer (Iori Asada) to give him the pain he actually fvckng deserve!! I wish it was more pain tho LOL .. I just can't with people such as him (them), and the female who were involve.. Like honestly she didn't deserve to be happy in the end too..I know its dark.. haha

I'm really glad that Sacchan realize her WORTH to be honest, If Iori didn't go on that path I would definitely give this a lower rating.. I mean I kinda hated her a bit there for being foolish but, she ended up realizing it's a mistake.

Okay don't get me wrong HIM waking up on his mistake was okay too, but what's done is done, and he doesn't deserve Sacchan.. I mean I'd honestly give this a higher rating if the ending wasn't much of a shit show as well... HAHAHAH!!!

If Iori choses a better ending it could've been well for the lead male (Katagiri) character.. but his ending line that "whatever will be , will be" is just trash! Like seriously, he is out there who couldn't get over his past after 22 years , still ghostly writing to Sa Chan, but going to replace her with a teenage girl who looks like his ex and these exact kid is involve with the very people he used to hurt before (not that I don't want to take revenge on the mom tho lol ) but.. it's just doesn't make sense to be with this kid at all, or to even dare to start anything with her.

Nope I have nothing against the whole May - December love affair that's not the point, I truly believe that in love, age doesn't freakin' matter.. but LMAO in his poor situation age isn't what's wrong, but the history truly does matter.. and him knowing it on the get go makes him more of a looser that he always been... hahah I'm annoyed and laughing at the same time.

Nevertheless tho, If Ioris (the writers) goal is to hate the main lead of this manga she did a pretty good writing right there.. hehe :) she manage to show how trashy this main lead is.

Okay.. honestly I don't understand where's the hate for this show is coming from.. I think It's a great one, I really enjoyed this show and I noticed I was smiling the whole time. I believe the simplicity of this anime is what make it unique.

The story was nothing complicated.. I feel like I enjoyed it because as an adult it was nice to look back on high school days and find yourself kinda thinking about the same experiences. This anime doesn't have super dramatic theme on it, it's typical romance slice of life in high school, comedic style but still at adept to what ... high school is , with all those light drama, choosing friends to walk with, love life, crushes, what path you'll go through.. all the uncertainties, all the question that doesn't have answer.. it's quite nice to watch. There a good characters in there that's super relatable, you don't expect a drastic development in course of a year.. it takes time so as in real world.

It doesn't have those complicated over the top visual like sex and boobs, no fan service although all the characters are good looking and pleasing in the eyes; this more a fine tuned reality, it's refreshing and calming to watch .. for my opinion at least.

I mean, I'd say go ahead and watch this if you are looking for something that's now heavy, a light hearted one that will make you reminisce HS. I'm actually looking forward on reading the manga ones I got more time. :)

I'm writing a review about this anime because it has so much controversy .. lol.. what is "right"? and what is "wrong"? ...but hear me out.

Let's clear the air first though.. this anime is for mature audience. But let me throw this one out the Anime it self for me it's a good watch. Won't be a top anime to recommend for everyone but its not a waste of time.

SO .. this anime has A LOT of sex scene (not long screen time, just scattered through out the series) and a VERY CONTROVERSIAL PLOT -- but I honestly believe a lot of the people who ... watched this blindly actually enjoys the story until they found out about the last 4 episode and that's where they started hating it.. to be honest can't blame them, the story is quite a taboo for other people.. it talks about moral perspective. Lets hold up on that tho, lest talk about something technical first..

Art - I give this 8/10 because the characters as really good looking, pleasing in the eyes, especially the back country theme, its very well illustrated.

Sounds - 10/10 love the theme songs , especially the intro song. I thinks the voice actors did pretty well too, the moaning scene/sound are not over the top.

Character - 7/10 , I believe more characters are developed than the other.... but some are realistic, there's one character who mask everything with a smile, one who's a good friend who doesn't judge and very supportive, one who loves their step sister so much, one who is so morally eloped that would not accept anything she thinks is immoral, one who understand that despite the odds she still wish for the couplets be happy even if she got hurt, one who wants to do the "right thing" because its what's the society would accept, and lastly, one will deflect any morality and societal norms because she know what she want and will fight for it. -------- honestly, aren't we all have this traits one or the other??

Overall - 7/10 .. honestly this anime isn't bad it's actually good, controversial but good.. so I think you should give it a try if you're a mature audience, who doesn't bound so much with so called "right" morality.. I mean morality isn't black or white for me.. the writing, art, soundtrack, sex scene, are beautifully placed .. the only thing that will gonna stop you to enjoy this anime is if you are too morally blind. Give it a shot..

I'm giving the story 8/10.. It's very well written.. and I'll say it again, that is if you are not bound to a black and white right or wrong morality concept.
This is a Harem, kinda half hentai, fan service anime.. but this also tales about a societal issue of incest.. yup , you read it write.

--I'm going to summarize the plot in here if you don't wanna red it just go to my ending note--

Well before they come up with this incest ending there where story surrounding it -- The sibs were a part for so long, they didn't really grew up together (anime plot), they saw each other again when they're starting to acknowledge opposite sex.. but the are siblings REASON why they shove any attraction in the closet (they are twins btw that why people hated it more lol)..
Then their parents died, they have to live on their own, away to the city.. the guy got involve with 2 different girls first, not thinking about his sister, and sister is silently loving her brother. The guy got involved again to an older women (not too much prolly a year) who was his first experience where he lost his virginity with few summers back..tried to fall for this women.. but failed.
He failed coz he finally found out that it's not just him who desires his twin sister.. it's mutual, when he saw the sister calling his name while doing herself. (if you know what I mean).. Even so, he still tried to forget this and stay with his current gf but the gf feels that he isn't involve with him anymore, that there is someone else.
So they the twins give in unto their desire and do it.. kiss, sex.. fall in love. People around them noticed it, and they've been made when the class president and ex saw them in action lol..
Brother decided to stop and asked sister to let it go, that what they have is wrong.. but sister doesn't want, because she wanna fight for them despite the odds. However, sister saw that her brother is hurting so she decided to end her life because no matter how morally unacceptable their love is, she can't stop her feelings for him but since this will cause this as a bother for the guy, she's willing to let go on her own accord, well I think because she can't fight on her own, so she accepts the situation.. and honestly.. it wasn't a bad decision (lol I know people will come to me about the whole suicide is bad thing.. but I'll come to that later)
Brother found out that sister is missing so he looked for her with the ex gf; the ex gf realizes the whole situation.. coz he explained, that he really tried, but he love her. The ex gf and sister talked btw before this missing incident.. so the ex asked told him " She is serious about you. Can you still leave her? or is that precisely why you'd leave her?".. and his answer is " I don't know" .. he still not decided if he will continue with the sister.. -- I believe the ex's question is actually a good one, coz she is saying that your sister LOVE you and for her their situation is not a concept of right or wrong it's simply LOVE.. so he is the only missing link, If knowing this, can he actually leave the sister .. or this is the more reason to let go.
Then brother remembered about the talk of a lake -- where it said you can be reborn lol -- okay so there he saw the sister who's planning to drown herself, and he tried to save her but in the anime guy doesn't actually know how to swim.. and amidst them drowning he gave up-- because then maybe it's the better choice, for them to be together "forever" without any judgement from the society, he gave up living.
But plot twist.. the sister knows how to swim lol, and save them. He woke up thought he's dead and saw his sister face. The sister still doesn't give up.. and he decided that he won't give up on them..
Later their friends came together and of course a lot of people have their opinions, some question their love, some believes in their love, some are concern for how are they going to survive, some doesn't want them to be happy .. but I really like the ex gf's view, she said she know's it's going to be hard for them and because of this she wants them to be genuinely happy..
They left the country.. happy.

Okay.. my opinion about this controversial topic.

like I said, the Anime it self for me it's a good watch. Won't be a top anime to recommend for everyone but its not a waste of time.

Incest? --- I don't think I personally can do it, it's just not for me, however, saying that, I also don't have ill feelings for those who chose this path. I actually understand them to some point. Love is love.. in this very story story of this anime itself I support them and wish them genuine happiness at the end, they are actually not hurting anyone. They just chose to be selfish and chose to love.

What is morality?-- it defines as principles concerning the distinction between right and wrong or good and bad behavior ------ but in reality there's no such thing as straight distinction, there's no straight right or a bold wrong, there's no such thing as good behaviour only or bad behaviour only.. there's always a parallel line we don't see.. there's always a WHY.. and Because..

There's a quote from Itachi Uchiha (well Masashi Kishimoto) that always lingers to me:
"People live their lives bound by their individual knowledge and awareness.. all that is what we call ‘reality’. however both knowledge and awareness are equivocal, ONES REALITY IS MAYBE SOMEONES ILLUSION (and vice versa), we live inside our own fantasy .. what does it mean to be ‘correct’ or ‘true’? Merely vague concepts... "

-- Incest is a very touchy subject..it is romantically loving someone that is a close relative of yours, that you are bound with blood.. and in our society it is an immoral act.. because she is your sister or brother...... but to think the only only reason this LOVE is immoral because of the "sex" part of love, the lust that love includes..... but no one actually says do not love your siblings... they mean do not lust on them but love them.... what I'm saying is there's always that fine line... that sometimes it becomes too blurry because of different circumstances.. what's wrong for our eyes is probably right for them.. so who am I to judge.

I can never put my finger if loving romantically your brother/sister is right or wrong, but I believe that love is always a mysterious concept that only those who really feels it will gonna understand. That love is neither right or wrong...... so as morality..

Honestly all the reviews here says it all.. I never knew I'd encounter an anime like this. I am 15 years late into the anime and 22 years late when the manga first published, but honestly I'm glad, because If I'd watch this when I was a teen I probably won't be able to gasp the whole plot .. Now, I can't just wait for Ai Yazawa to give us a continuation and a finale that she is heading for, and honestly no matter what it could be I believe that we all are going to embrace it after 12 years of hiatus now (2022).

Nana ... is such a feels ... in this cruel world where perfect isn't plausible.

I wanna know what's gonna happen to all the characters..those that I love to hate and hate to love.

its still anime/manga so don't get me wrong, there's still over the top reactions, portrayal and craziness in here, but its too close to reality that it blurs that line..

I wanna give a review that doesn't have a spoiler but I think I cannot with this one..
so Sorry there will be spoilers in here..

I've read a few reviews, although there are a lot of people who find this 10/10 (like myself), I also understand where those 7/10 and below coming from, tbh I was in the verge of giving this 9/10 but with all honesty ,the idea that Violet finally found her peace after everything she gone through is more than enough for me to give this a total of 10.

Art - 10/10 : Kyoto animation never fail to impress us! nothing more to ... add on that, the emotions of the characters especially when they are crying just resembles reality!

Sound - 8/10: I always love VE soundtracks especially from the series but I don't know after watching this last night, realize that there's no sound track that stick on me..

Character- 9/10 : All the character developments and amazing, although I would wish that Cataleya and Benedict Blue had more character dev't since this is the finale.

Story - 9/10: SPOILER!!!!!
Okay now lets start to the argument.. it would be better if Gilbert didn't come back ----- honestly for me I'm so glad that he did. The development that Violet had the whole time he wasn't there will never be gone just because he came back; for me Violets needed his return to complete the missing piece. She already said to Capt. Dietfried she won't ever forget Gilbert, and this will just drag her down forever. ---
---Gilbert being a way for years is his choice to give Violet the time to be herself without him giving the orders, in the finale he also is willing to let her go, but Violet made her own choice now, she chooses Gilbert, and there's no other way for her to let him know is through that letter.. so for anyone arguing that a 'simple' letter made Gilbert cave in.. well it did, because that's the whole purpose of Violet Evergarden, Letters that will gonna struck you In your heart, Also its not just the letter that changed Gilberts mind but also his brothers words, someone he look up to. That whatever guilt he is feeling, he is there to carry it.
----Although having said all this, I don't hate the idea if Violet end up with the President too... coz he is just as worth it.. that could've been another story line to follow given a chance that Gilbert didn't came back.
---- I really commend how they tackle Violets story stitched to the letter she made for episode 10 / Annes mom.. and now with Annes grand daughter. I makes so much sense.
----If there's one thing I'd wanna see from this oil is actually the stitch of the ending of episode 13 with this finale movie. The ending of ep13 where she went to a house and smiled when someone opened it --- they could've shown that it was Gilbert, hence, everyones discussion about how she isn't that surprise. I wish that they tied that after she finished everything in Leiden she came Home to the man she loved.. Cheesy yes, but it is what she deserve.

Enjoyment - 9/10: Although I really love this movie, for some reason I didn't felt as emotional as I was with the 13 episode series.. The only time I felt im about to cry was when the kid died, and also when President look on his side and Violet isn't there anymore.

Overall -- 10/10: I'm giving it a highest rating because I truly enjoyed the journey.. Violet left Leiden, but continued being an auto memory doll with the man who showed her and let her search the meaning of the word "I Love You".. for me its enough that Violet found her peace.

I came to watch this because I needed a sports anime after Haikyuu.. I do like this anime and watch it straight.. but I don't know something is missing with this..It didn't hit the spot.

The story is good, the concept is easy to understand, but there's no punch into it.

Having said that I like the characters though, especially Haiji, for me he should be the main protagonist... he's the one who is keeping the team together. I hope they got into details on his back story tho, although I didn't read the novel so I'm not sure I should get into that, just ... my preference.

I like Kakeru too, I like his character that he stands his grounds and fight for others.

The art is really really good too, its high quality. Honestly made me wanna go running again.

Overall I like it but not love it, having said that I still encourage you guys to check it out. It's still worth watching. it probably just my preference :)

Attack of the titan is one of those anime that you will love the journey.
However, it say different for the ending, its either you will truly love or truly hate it.. that's what it is for me.. there's no in between.

The story is tragic.(period)

I do love the ending though.

Let me tell you, saying that, I am one of those who's on the team that would still love the ending no matter how Hajime Isayama decided to put it down.

'Coz for me this is one of those shows that there really is no right or wrong ending.. and this is one of those shows that whatever ending it is, it'll cause so many opinion coz that's how different we all are.

I honestly can't say much about the whole manga coz I only started picking it up for the purpose of finishing the anime. The anime leads me to here.. I can't get enough of the anime.

The ending for me is painful, I balled my eyes out to be honest.. I feel like there are soooo many other ways that Erin can choose but he chose what he chose, so there is that already.. The adventure that this series gave is fulfilling.

I feel for LEVI, he is one of the characters that for me choses the best possible way, but still he lost A LOT.

This shows realism is outstanding, yes, indeed that its anime but if you look at it in real life a lot of people are into the same dark place as Eren is.. and you gotta choose what is the best possible outcome.. he didn't become righteous like a lot of people argue, for my opinion he just had to do it. He started it so he must be the one to end it, by letting Mikasa choose.

A lot argues that Mikasa have a bad Character development but for me She have one of the best ones.. She learned to choose and stop HER cycle (see how I use her and not "the"); she have to decide and actually for me she chosen the right path for her.. Love isn't only about just holding on, it takes so much courage to also let it go. Honestly if Mikasa chose the "Happy" ending for her.. I still won't argue, I still think it'll come out with a decent ending.. although its still going to be "tragic". Anyhow, I won't blame her, no one can argue about her happiness, if she wants it.. you can call it selfishness but who cares, but it's HER reality. And there's nothing wrong about choosing you first.

The friendship between Eren and Armin are how it should be, you cannot always guarantee approving what your friend does but it doesn't mean you don't support them.. friendship isn't only abut saying you are right to everything.

I really wanna say more about the anime and the argument about how Eren was "soft" at the end, about what he wants for Mikasa, but I'll hold my horses until the whole anime comes out.. for me tho he isn't soft.. he is HUMAN after all.. he is entitled to want something he cannot have, or could not have anymore.

I really feel for this show, I feel for the tragedy that comes out of it, I feel for the choices that lead them to this, I feel for everyone on that world (and our world) who doesn't know the whole picture that's why they decided to do what they do..

Honestly both Marleyan and Eldian are victims.. like us, all of us are victims. Saying that.. who are we to judge and to decide who is on the wrong side. Everyone is, and everyone will be.. its a continuous loop.. a cycle.

Whatever ending they chose for this its still a tragic one... No one wins. No one really won in the ending of this anime.. and its the reality of life.

Saying that I still love it. Acceptance is a big part of this anime. There's always a choice and not everyone is going to agree.

I recently just finished Haikyuu and I still have so much hangover towards this manga. I can't say enough how much I LOVE this and can't thank you enough for Haruichi Furudate for this masterpiece and for the anime team for giving it life!

I am not a OG reader of this, I started reading it from chapter 291 coz I can't get enough of the anime, and I wanna see already what's gonna happen and who'll gonna win the next match, I thought I will end there after reading the match but I can't put this manga down, I thought I'll be over after the ... nationals and just wait for the anime but can't. I have to finish the whole thing because for me my favourite part and chapter on this whole. manga is what happened after their first nationals.. what happened to the character after their high schools..

My anime review is more emotional, but I will try tone more technical in here without giving any spoilers.

The manga story is 100, from my chapter 291 experience to the ending, feels like I'm watching the characters mature.

Character development is at it's best, although I felt sad for the other character on where and how they are now, it only shows though the realism of life, not everyone is going to be majorly successful and that's just how it is.. I love the build up of some main characters but I can't be into specifics.. I wanna edit / add some specifics probably after some years from now when the whole anime comes out just for respect to you guys who don't want spoilers..

Art -- like I said its so good the details on this manga are on point especially with the play, if you look at the crowd, Im mesmerized how you can imagine that there really is a real crowd doing their own stuffs and what not, I now appreciate manga because of this, Furudate brings you into the game with those lines.

Enjoyment -- Love how this manga have insights on it at the beginning and ending of its volumes or even in between.

OVERALL it really is A masterpiece, honestly I am thinking of reading the whole manga on its own, maybe not now but someday.. this is a classic and Sure believe that this is one of those mangas that will stay and sale for a very very long time!
