- A group of young characters, living on a mysterious setting, trapped and devoid of information, must go through challenges and mind games to achieve their objectives. - Focus on mystery and the need of creativity and intelligence to solve the problems faced. Both settings the characters have to overcome scenarios where they are being watched, having to hide their intentions and actions. - If you appreciated the beginning of Yakusoku no Neverland, you probably will appreciated the direction of the story of Shadows House, these are the point of intersection of the similarities between the works.

These two build their worlds by rules so weird you can not believe how logical they appear when you get sucked into the story by full force. Both are giving me the warm-tummy feeling as well, something you just want to keep going forever since it’s so pleasurable to read.

- cutesy art style and character design, with dark undertones and a more complex plot with horror touches - same aesthetic (victorian nobility, doll vibe) - both of them talk about "dolls" and how much they're human (eg. Rozen Maiden having talking dolls which have actual human feelings and Shadows House having living dolls which resemble humans in all of their characteristics - good storytelling and overall unique plot

Another mystery manga with good world building where kids fight for their lives.

- Both are heavily rooted in mystery - Both involve supernatural happenings - Both start off seeming relatively wholesome but become much darker as the series progresses - Both have characters which focus on “exposing” the truths larger forces at work (Oshi no Ko with the Idol industry and Shadows House with- well- Shadows House)

These two features a young girl who is trapped and decide to venture in a fantasy fairy tale society with strange and mysterious worldbuilding. The main protag is both have their childish aspects of them exaggerated followed by tragic backstories for both of them these two are also serinen but features no gore and only mildly frightening scenes and probably should not have been

Being seinen they are targeted towards an older demographic; even though having the same demographic can have more of a nebulous connection, I still feel it can apply when most of the titles genres overlap. Both manga are in the genres of fantasy; slice-of-life; as well as supernatural, while having a female protagonist, and primarily a child cast. I thought it was worth mentioning that someone else has recommended the manga Kuro, in relation to Shoulder-a-Coffin Kuro, which is by the same mangaka as Shadows House.

Both combine cute elements from their art styles with dark creepy figures and both works offer deeply atmospheric settings with unsettling elements around each corner.

It’s done by the same mangaka and has the same unique vibe where cute and surreal, calmness and the terror coexists in ways you couldn’t imagine.

Whimsical with a little dark atmosphere. Stories about a little girl going through their days, slowly unraveling the mystery of respective worlds. Although different in setting, both is set in a fantasy world that is written thoughtfully. The MC having little knowledge on their respective worlds creates the suspense of both manga. Through its artwork and mystery, both gave that kind of dark atmosphere, but toned down with the cast with colorful personalities in each series.

They are both supernatural mysteries that rely on an upfront of moe, cuteness, whatever you want to call it, pandering to the seinen demographic with a darker, more twisted plot. That's not their selling point whatsowever, as both manga feature a more intricate ideology behind them. While Shadows House can be considered a critique of classism and capitalism to some extent, Coffee Moon is more grounded in its social critique: mostly routine and the differences between routines, with some bs sprinkled here and there about the sum of happiness and the like. Really enjoyable stuff! P.S: If you liked the art of Shadows House, I'm sure  read more
