Just from looking this seems like a bit of a stretch, but they are actually very alike in many ways. While the story is obviously very different - one focused very much on music, the other focused on dogs - the deeper point of each is where they are alike - that is the characters, their interactions, their lives, and the way they change each other. Inubaka and Nodame Cantabile both have the same basics if you take out the music and dogs. The stories both have a chance meeting between a bit of a dimwitted girl and a very talented guy and the events following  read more

While Inubaka focuses primarily on dogs and is a slice-of-life rather than the medical manga Wild Life often is, both obviously have mangaka who are passionate about animals. The main characters are also the happy, cheerful, sometimes-silly but always-earnest type. =)

Even though Inubaka mainly focuses on dogs, Bow Wow Wata parallels by telling a story about a boy named Tasuke, who is able to speak to animals thanks to his father, who is a Shinto God that runs a vet; and Wata is a dog companion that works alongside Tasuke to tackle on real veterinary issues throughout the series. The series was created by a licensed Veterinarian. BWW is not as well known since it’s publication in English went defunct, I highly encourage anyone to get the first two volumes in English at the very least, if not the Japanese copies.
