Just from looking this seems like a bit of a stretch, but they are actually very alike in many ways. While the story is obviously very different - one focused very much on music, the other focused on dogs - the deeper point of each is where they are alike - that is the characters, their interactions, their lives, and the way they change each other.

The dynamic between the two leads is very similar. Even though the stories are completely different from each other they manage to give off the same vibe.
