I think that I can say that I was betrayed by Isekai Nonbiri Nouka. Or rather, betrayed by what it promised me. After seeing the cover of the light novel, which I found very pretty, I decided to give a try to the manga. I was surprised to see that it was not at all as pretty as the original work.

The story is fairly classic: a middle-aged man is resuscitated as a young man in a fantasy world and must now live in this new universe. So, an isekai story. The title didn't lied. What makes it out of the ordinary is that the MC ... has chosen to live a farmer's life instead of becoming a traditional adventurer. Instead of chasing monsters and completing quests, he preferred to opt for agriculture and construction.
Although it must have been done already, the concept seemed interesting. It changed from an ordinary isekai. But it soon became boring. There is a cruel lack of scenarios. A chapter is only the MC who builds something new in his village. It could still be interesting, but no: you don't see him building his thing. Each chapter is composed solely of his thoughts. The actions are only summarized and the dialogues are almost non-existent. A page is equal to a shitload of rectangles.

Because yes, if there is almost no dialogue, it's mainly because of the characters. First of all, the MC has no particularly transcendent personality, so do not expect much from him. Then, it's necessary to wait for the eighth chapter for him to interact with another human. It's far too long to introduce secondary characters, especially since he has been alone with his dogs during all previous chapters. After that, he is joined by several characters (obviously only females, let's not forget that it's an isekai). However, they don't bring anything to the story and their dialogues remain limited. Well, at least they're cute. And if at least the MC was interesting. But no, it remains the very archetype of the brown-haired MC without personality. I mean, fuck, I don't even remember his name.

The art style can't even raise the level. From the first pages, it can easily be seen that no efforts were made. The characters look stiff and have no apparent expression. The only ones that are pretty well drawn are the dogs. Who knows, maybe the artist is a furry after all. Also, whole pages can be found consisting only of landscape plans and the MC thoughts. In addition, the characters always talk about the progress made in their village and all their constructions. However, we never see them. When represented, it's always in the form of diagrams. With all the advancements they make and all the people they welcome, their village must be immense. But that, we'll never know.

Maybe I should to wait before being too harsh with this manga. Maybe it will get better. But it's already 20 chapters and nothing interesting has happened yet. It's way too long to install a proper story. It's not even a slice of life, it's just the perfect farmer's guide with some bad illustrations. If the story had not improved after the arrival of the first secondary character, I would have probably put a lower note.

For conclude; Whether you're a fan of the genre or not, pass this one. There are so many other manga about this subject, you will surely find a better one than this one.

You can call me crazy rating it high as 10, but its just how I feel about the manga so far. There's only 24 translated chapters. I don't have any complaints about low ratings this manga has received. Maybe people precieve differently. But I will explain to you how I felt about Isekai Nonbiri Nouka.

Ookay, this is my first review for any manga, and after reading some of the reviews i feel like i should put in my thought to clear few things up about this manga and also to give some reason to why i personally enjoy reading it.

and to update to new comer to the series, all the old reviews top reading this manga around chapter 15 to 27, lemme update to you that is manga now has 110 chapters now(as of 19 of march 2020), so u guys plenty to read.

First, isekai nonbiri is a laid-back kind of manga, and is it definitely NOT for everyone, ... is just about a man who died, got reincarnate as one hell of a OP farmer and live a laid-back life, so do not expect anything epic and jaw-dropping to happen, he just a farmer after all. with that out of the way let move to the scoring.

Story 7: what do you expect, is it the life of a farmer living though his day, even-though is not something particular, i found myself feel relaxed when i read it, there are a few arc later on to spice things up though(for me), so i give it a solid score of 7

Art 7: while the art could have been better, i do not found to be so bad, the character looks feel unique enough, after all, how can u make a village of hundreds of people to be all unique, is just a normal isekai after all(btw zabuton look kinda cute)

character 6: sadly to say, the characters in this manga is rather meh or mundane for me, but the variety of different races keep me entertained.

However, i DO want to clear a few thing about our MC, if u pay attention to chapter one, he has a special gift that the god(one of three i think) is a good background ability, it means that WHOEVER meet him under ANY circumstances will always see him in a good sense, i see some people say that other characters just throw themselves at him (something along those line) well is because of that ability, this ability was to given to him by a freakin god, ofc its gonna be OP, like his tool and healthy body. and second to back it up is this, time move rather quickly in this manga, from one panel to the other can make many different and lets look at this world like this, this world is at war, people being enslaved, starved, killed like flies, some barely escaped with their life, then they found a place where there a food, shelter, safe, there also a guy who is good natured to keep those people all of that, peace was the greatest gift one could give you in those time, and it is a medieval fantasy we talking about, many thing to entertain or do, no tv, internet, just war, so when you were given thing like fulfilling jobs, good food, you will feel to have the debt of gratitude, they will want to repaid him with kindness, so girl wouldnt mind give themselves to him, what else could they give that is unique and more sincere (of that time and age), plus people mind are rather simple at those time, breeding is meh, is all for the survival of their races, so suck it up.

enjoyment 8: i have re read this manga about 5 time now(till round chapter 100) that should show how much i enjoyed it, but the reason why is mainly what i stated above, is it relaxing read, a kind of read after a long day of study and work, you just want to laid back reading something simple, ez to follow and calm, i like that. plus there are some moment i found funny, like how he got ganged up by the girl lol (spoiler: he does confess he enjoyed it a bit ;) )

Overall, is it a 7 from me, not a masterpiece for sure, but it is a relaxing read

I actually read up to chapter 20-something and the manga wasn’t too bad in the beginning when he was setting up his life but one of the main reasons I dropped it was that it turned into this huge harem manga and, I’m not really against those but, I hate it when the female characters become pushy and then the main guy character doesn’t refuse them and just goes with the flow. I can’t stand those. If you don’t really want to be with someone then just say so!! And the women in this one too are all want to have sex with him all ...

While I generally tend to enjoy the type of isekai that takes the route of the everyday villager/commoner in another world, many others take the transition from a modern day Japan to a medieval time fantasy world a lot more seriously than Isekai Nonbiri Nouka. If I had to describe this manga in one word, it would be "vague".

The manga starts off focusing on the MC setting up his life as a farmer, testing his abilities and tools to create a life for himself in a new world. However, things come way too easily to him for my tastes with almost every new upgrade or ... relationship being tossed in with general exposition. Almost every problem or concern is announced and immediately rectified with the world just handing him the answer with no real dilemma. For example, the MC worries that winter is coming and I was interested in the problems he would face. So many opportunities could have been explored from the difficulties of maintaining food over a long period of time to the feelings of isolation and boredom that must certainly have affected early farmers. But he simply stores some food, makes some adjustments to his living arrangements and just goes through winter in a few panels of exposition with literally no hassle.

Finally, the interactions between characters is just laughably bad. Monsters just show up to help him out of nowhere simply for the sake of answering some of the problems he faces. They also immediately trust him/help him with no reason except maybe food which makes zero sense as they resemble carnivorous animals. I found this to be really disappointing as I saw it as a good chance to explore of the concept of early domestication.

Eventually, the first humanoid character arrives which gave me hope this manga would start to expand a bit more now that there would be more dialogue. But even she immediately trusts him and even jumps into a relationship with him between the space of like 4 panels with no explanation whatsoever. Nor do we get even so much as a question of where she came from by the MC who seems to be way too easy going with the way the world just hands him whatever he wants/needs per chapter. No one has a real personality so far that is shown with even the dogs being labeled in one panel as "serious" or "playful".

I don't know if the novel goes into a lot more explicit detail that the mangaka is simply glossing over but this concept has been explored in much more engaging routes that I simply can't recommend this manga at 11 chapters in. In its defense, it is decently drawn and might interest some that prefer a more laid-back slice of life approach to the genre.

First of all. I expect more when i read the first chapter. After all going throught, i felt that i just read farming manga in another world. This manga not expalined in detailed how to build your farm or anything like that. This manga is purely slice of life of the main characters llife happily with his job as farmer and his family.

I like the simplisity of this series. I enjoy read this series because the story is fun and enjoyable. All the characters have good tendency and the MC sometimes retort about common sense in the other world. Because when he come to other ...

Light hearted and simple to follow, very relaxing and enjoyable. Arcs are simple to follow and all of the side characters are funny and quirky, I enjoy the different dynamic with the women of the community holding all of the real power, it was fun to read. Every chapter something or someone new was added to the community and it had a lot more time progression than I thought with the MC having children quite early in the manga, it would be enjoyable to see more moments with the kids. SimCity/Black&White but as an Isekai Village. This is that "Tensei Slime" wishes to be.
It slowly but steadily delves into village creation from absolute zero with it's complexity using light-hearted presentation with simple art-style.
But don't be discouraged by "light-hearted". Like others I am too sucker for more mature storytelling, but here it just clicks. It's naration Flows from the capital F. I've never had easier time binge-reading.

The best thing about this series is logic behind the world and how it affects MC (Main Character) village-building.
As an Isekai, it introduces races which create different problems in terms of cohibition. Then MC thinks of logic-grounded solution and sometimes ...
