Both of these series focus on a group of people thrusted into an isolated area where things quickly spiral into hell on earth, the art, the story telling, as well as the overall premise bare a striking resemblance to one another. The one thing they both really nail though, is the isolation and fear of being trapped in place where nobody can help you, the sheer fear of the odds being so stacked against you in a place full of evil. A tranquil or peaceful area turned into a horror scene: Suddenly characters are preyed upon by several overwhelming dangers. *Very bold in showing how people die in countless different ways. <> Monkey Peak: characters are extremely suspicious of their allies, microHUNTER: characters see allies as close friends, necessary to survive

Ties cut from the outside world, people are being threatened by murderers using guerrilla tactics, brutally & slowly killing them. Survival of the fittest. The people being preyed upon have to adapt to the new situation. *The creepiness and murder scenes are similar.

Both of these manga focus on the main cast fighting inhuman monsters that are beyond their means of beating in a one on one fight, the main character of each series is also a muscle headed loveable goofball that just wants to do the right thing for the people he's trying to protect. Both of these series are set in very isolated places that really set a sense of urgency and dread that makes you fear for the main cast, even the unlikeable cast members in each respectable series bring a little something to the table at times. These series are the epitome of humans  read more

These are both survival manga that take place in very isolated and hard to reach places, these settings add to the overall tension and suspense and give you a sense of dead for the cast
