Chi no Wadachi's similarities to the Korean manhwa Bastard are countless. I can't help but wonder if the author of Chi no Wadachi was inspired by Bastard because these stories have a lot in common. Both have a kid protagonist who hates their parent, who is a psycho killer but pretends to be a normal person. Both have a major plot point revolving around a moment where they remember their parent throwing someone off a building/cliff. Both have a love interest that acts to help the MC run away from their parent and helps the MC overcome their trauma. I could go on and on. If  read more

If you want something like punpun then read this. It's dark, very mental and depressing

Both by the same authors, very similar feel between the stories, with complex and disturbing relationships between the characters

These two manga tell stories whose one of the main themes is a toxic relationship between abusive mother and son abused by her. They also are full of elements related to psychology and sociology. Their art style is realistic, with a lot of detailed close-ups, allowing readers to experience the story without only relying on dialogues ("show, don't tell" narrative technique).

Parents who were involved with shady/criminal matters somehow, are the trigger for their children to become mentally unstable as time passed. Great psychological drama manga!

*OTHER WAY AROUND*. MaL detects Chi no Wadachi as recommended work no matter what order I pick cuz their website coding is dogshit Main character(s) being culprits of a realistic crime in both mangas, incredibly suspenseful, terrifying and makes you question "is it morally righteous that I'm rooting for them to get away with their crime?". Bokutachi ga Yarimashita feels like a replicate of Oshimi Shuuzou's (better known as creator of Aku No Hana) work with its story direction and eerie settings that's rare to stumble across nowadays.

- made by same mangaka - same atmosphere - crazy moms - manipulations These will both give you edgy feeling, feel of wanting to stop reading but you just keep on going. And... Seiko looks like a grown-up Mari. XD

Both are brutally depressing manga about child abuse (emotional or physical) and stockholm syndrome. A Lollypop or a Bullet is geared towards drama while A Trail of Blood is geared towards psychological horror.

The nonlinear story-telling and twisted/obscured recount of events in both manga portray the haunting effects of trauma and abuse very well. Both are great and very devastating psychological dramas that left me in tears!

Two boys who are heavily manipulated by a parent of them. There's no escape from the abuse they receive "for their own good". *The psychological aspect in both is stunning. *Both make use of the black and white style very well.

-I dunno cus they all related to Mother-Son trope. -"Chi no Wadachi" or "Blood on the tracks" which follows the story of Seichii Osabe-a shy middle school student living a relatively ordinary life with his father and picture-perfect mother, Seiko. Seiko has psychiatric disorders and has an obsessive relationship with her son, I think it’s a lot easier to just call her a monster. I mean, you don’t need any other explanation! Monsters do monstruous things to those around them, and that fits Seiko to a ‘T’. -But this time instead of having a mother who control and manipulate her son, we have the complete oposite!  read more

It's similar in certain aspects and themes but seinen, longer, more grounded on reality and better executed(in my opinion). It has children dying, dysfunctional families and people fucking up their lifes.

Both manga feature how young boys' mind is being emotionally manipulated, how they break apart, and how their humanity is being stripped apart from them. It is an emotionally taxing trip witnessing how characters are being abused. Both mangas involve murder. *Zankoku Kami contains sexual abuse

Even though the main plot and setting is completely different, the psychological (manipulative) part by a parent or parentlike figure is deeply embedded into multiple characters in Kentou Ankokuden Cestvs.
