- both tell a story about a relationship between a minor and an adult - amazing artstyle - after the rain has a girl as the minor while my boy has a boy - after the rain already got an anime adaptation - both make you question about the norms and morals - great character developments - both are completed manga

Aki-Sora is about two siblings loving each other while Watashi no Shounen is a series about two strangers that met each other by chance; a younger boy and an older woman and as time passes they find comfort in each other. While the main characters at Aki-Sora can be quite intimate with each other, the relationship between the main characters of Watashi no Shounen is pure. In conclusion, FORBIDDEN LOVE

Both deal with characters who find something they need (a reason to walk, how to live, etc.) from someone else. They both do this in a mature and sensible way despite the potential taboo that comes from dealing with age gap relationships/friendships. The characters feel grounded and real, and takle serious issues in Japanese culture. While My Boy isn't as romantic as Garden of Words (Thats actually a good thing) it still packs enough emotion that even though it will most likely end bittersweet, you will want to see it through anyway.

Both maturely and sensibly deal with potentially romantic scenarios between two lost individuals of different age groups. Its an incredibly hard thing to pull off, something title's like Bunny Drop got right at the beginning but fail near the end. Both Slice of Life pieces which are enjoyable to read, and never feel out of place even with its central theme.

An older woman (in her 30s) unexpectedly starts taking care of a young male child/children and soon finds herself a lot more attached to them than she'd expected.

Both of these stories address similar themes: difficult relationships that don't have a clear path to success, self-discovery, and coming to terms with the past. Aku no Hana explores them through a dark coming-of-age story, while Watashi no Shounen does so through a complex relationship between a young boy and an older woman. I think Aku No Hana is slightly more dramatic than Watashi no Shounen, but they have similar levels of intensity.

-Older office lady (30s) -Young male lead (16) romance (?)

Gigant has a love story between a high school boy and an adult. It has a lot sex scenes and scifi action elements.

Koi no Tsuki also depicts the love story between a 31 year old woman and 15 year old boy. Unfortunately there is no English translation yet. But there is a good live action TV adaptation called Love and Fortune, available in Netflix. But the ending is a bit different between the TV show and the manga. TV's ending is more similar to My Boy's ending, manga gives a more definitive ending.

It's rare to come across a Shota/One pairing, romantic or otherwise, in the world of manga. Both these stories are cute and fun reads about the gradual development of strong bonds between a shota and a 30+yr old professional woman.

Both manga deal with the delicate and insanely complicated relationship between a high school boy and a much older office lady.

Both depict a relationship between a young boy and an older woman in a very nuanced, respectful way. Otoyomegatari is overtly about a budding romance whereas the characters in WnS are more ambiguously affectionate. Both feature some very tenderly written and emotional drama, as well.

Both depict a relationship between an assertive girl and a very innocent, feminine boy. Mizutama and Mashuu resemble each other in their sincere, kind-hearted, yet slightly oblivious personalities. Pump Up! is a light romance whereas WnS is a more reflective and ambiguous drama, however.

Both feature a younger male/older female pairing (though with less of a focus in YKK). Though WnS is far more dramatic than YKK, both are delicately-told stories with themes of growing older, the passage of time, and changing one's perspective through life's stages.

Both series showcase age gap differences and relationships between older female and younger male. Mainly from female perspective. However, the age gap in Watashi no Shounen is a lot bigger than in Kimi ga Loafer. If you have read one give a try to the other one.

watashi no shonen age gap: younger boy (elementary school) / older woman (in her thirties) age progression the boy starts in elementary school 12 years old / woman 30 now he's in middle school she's 32 (volume 3) the" rival" is of same age kore wa koi no hanashi age gap : older man/ young girl (elementary school) age progression till high school for the girl but it appears that it's actually the woman who love the boy in a motherly or not! way kore wa koi no hanashi it was the girl who fell in love first

The heroines and their presentations as a guardian in both manga are very similar. After a neglected child enters the heroine's boring life, she gradually tastes the responsibility of taking care of a child and it becomes more enjoyable and satisfactory to live. These two emotional stories show the bond and love of two lonely people who had to act more mature than their age.

My 500th rec! Wow. And to think I'd be recommending such fantastic manga! Frankly, I'm surprised nobody has recommended them, bc their base plot lines are strikingly similar. You have a mature, working adult, who is suddenly thrust with the responsibility of a child (from the opposite sex). Both manga deal with how, very gradually, the lives of both the parties involved, change, and how both form deep and meaningful bonds with each other.

While Watashi no Shounen doesn't deliver a story as thought-provoking or controversial as Koi Kaze, this work still manages to represent a complicated and serious relationship between a teenager and an adult and all the obstacles between their friendship. Both deal with forbidden love, conflicting emotions, and family problems. Another very important similarity is Nanoka and Mashuu's maturity compared to their adult partner. However, don't forget that Koi Kaze is also centered around incest while Watashi no Shounen's controversy is the age gap.

Calm/tranquil vibes. Emotionally confused older female, younger male with trauma. A questionable relationship between people who find themselves attached to the other in a way that's closer than family and not quite romantic (mostly due to feeling they don't have the right or its abnormal), yet ultimately they're complete strangers. Kimi Wa Pet explores more romance while longing for and finding sanctuary in a stranger. Watashi no Shounen explores more the emptiness two people feel and gradually become attached to one another with the anxiety of being unable to define what kind of relationship they have and the fear of it being misunderstood.

The vibe of both of these stories feels similar. The characters are realistically written. Heartwarming to read. Both deal with the topic of caring for someone and what it means.
