I started watching also expecting this to be a rather stereotypical anime about dreams and such, with some romance fluff... but that was not what it delivered. It delivered something ten times better (and then some!). Faaantastic. Loved almost every episode. :) And this ending was amazing. I have to say, 10/10 for me, based purely on enjoyment. |

Love it! Ended beautifully, but a little parts I disliked during the middle of this season, but I still love it, and I think it's better than the first season. I don't know what to say, 9.5/10, but for the heck of it, I'll give it a 10/10. Watched 26 episodes non-stop in a whole day, deserves a 10. Based on the ending, which gave huge a impression, never going to forget this anime. <3 Kaleido Star! <3 Sora! |

Wow, what an incredible anime. I was crying a little by the end of the episode, I can't tell if it's because it was such a great episode or the fact that it's all over. I don't get to watch Sora anymore. I don't get to see her overcome her next trial or her next amazing performance. Both seasons were wonderful. The second season was definitely more dramatic, but I liked that. It really showed the depth of Sora's character, and showed just how strong she is. *sigh* I'm really going to miss watching this anime!!! |

I was really impressed by this series. I was originally discouraged in the very beginning after being recommended this anime many, many times over several years. I wasn't thrilled with Layla or Sora and annoyed with Jonathan's appearance and all, but I really started liking and seeing things pick up once Rosetta was introduced, and I really felt the characters start to grow. I really enjoyed the adventure by them, and I was surprised to find Sora and Layla working together only halfway into the series. I think I actually liked the second season more. It was definitely more dramatic, and I was originally edgy about the whole, "If Layla's gone, how is the series actually going to go on?!" While I did hate May and Leon at first I came to love them, and Sora's depression and uplifting moments made the series feel so real. When she fell, I fell with her, and when she rose, I was cheering her on. It's been a long time since I've felt that kind of genuine feeling for a character like that. I almost wanted to see her keep failing because I knew each time she did, she'd become that much stronger and that much more determined. Watching her struggle for the Angel Maneuver at the end made my feet hurt and tingle!! But I felt I really bonded with all of the characters and each of them got their moment to shine with their own conclusion. I can't say I was really bored in any of the episodes. I teared up near the end. It was so uplifting and amazing. Dreams can come true! And Sora has made me rethink that. What an inspiring anime! Despite how I felt it started out, I still really enjoyed spending time with these characters. I really started flying through the series and now I'm sad it's over. I also saw Cirque du Soleil today. Once it was over, all I could think about was getting home and finishing the last few episodes! What an amazing experience that was!! So, overall, I give this series a 9/10. It's really, really good. Damn it, Ken, I love you, I just wish you spit out your feelings for Sora. And Fool appearing to Rosetta? Hell to the yes. <3 |

Thank God I finally picked this up! Amazing show! XD Love the characters, the show and the story! Truly enjoyable! Love all the episodes! I actually teared up at the end! Dreams do come true! I'm now brimming with hope! What a uplifting anime! beautiful! Sora reminds me so much of Akari then I saw that they have the same Director! Wohoo! Sugoi! 10/10 for making me believe in my dreams again and making me feel like I can do the impossible! Fight! XD |

Some years ago I saw this anime on TV and really liked it, but of course I could only watch some episodes now and then and not in order. Since I remembered that I saw about 70-80% of it I put it on my completed list when I first joined MAL a few months ago and gave it a 7. A huge mistake I must say. About two weeks ago I thought about what to watch next and for some reason I tought about watching it again, since I remembered that it was very likeable even though at first glance it wouldn't be my type of anime. So I downloaded it again. (Just a note: I watched it in my native language, Hungarian. I never do that because most of the dubs are horrible with Shaman King and FMA:B as an exception. But after listening to some episodes I've found both the english and japenese version terrible. I'm really sorry but the english voices were so boring, especially Layla and Sora. On the other side the Hungarian dub was really well done.) Now after watching through the 2 seasons I felt really stupid for not watching the whole thing back then, I was probably too young. Just like people said before me this anime was amazing. I could really connect with Sora and her determination. I felt sad after every one of her disappointments and felt cheerful when she felt happy. It was like I myself accompanied her on her journey through every trial and happiness she found herself in. I can often connect with characters, but not as much as I did with Sora. This was an amazing feeling which I can't put in words neither in English nor in Hungarian. I felt that both seasons were wonderful and I can't really take them apart, because they needed each other to completely fill out the dream. I of course missed that Ken and Sora never really got together but I can accept that, because they had their moments. Some people also say that the really sad parts like the festival and May's victories over Sora could have been left out, but I think that they were also part of real journey to become a true star. You can't always go straight ahead without finding some difficulty, just like in real life. The ending was again perfect, she has become a real angel and not just in appearance. This anime made a huge impact on me, so huge that it made me rethink my favorite characters' and anime's order. Sora is my new 2nd favorite female character and my third favorite from any anime (My second favorite character from the show was Rosetta btw, I'm really happy she got an own extra episode). The anime is also now my 3rd favorite anime only beaten by Code Geass and Clannad, and not by a lot anyway. Another tribute will be my new signature (which I wanted to make my avatar but couldn't). Again, I love this anime and it of course gets a 10/10. |

This episode: Score: 10/10 Overall: -1 for the human-like behaviors of the seal. -1 for making fun of martial arts! -1 for being too childish and for all the things that doesn't make sense (like the policeman always being with them and even going to Europe for Sora, or like the other small things). Score: 7/10 It was a good show. |

Does she get a dick? I'll watch it if she gets a dick. Its not gonna be that Ken guy is it? He's not much of a guy. Watching a show with only girls is a major snorefest, usually. |

すごい/Amazing series.. i would've wanted to not give it a 10 due to some technical reasons.. but throughout the whole series, it just keeps on telling me that it's not about the technical aspects and skill.. it's about how it affected the audience, me.. and i'd say that its message holds the greatest impact to me.. i'm so moved.. this is the anime i've been looking for all along.. so yes, it actually deserves being a masterpiece.. 10/10.. |

I had to resist my urge to stand up and start clapping my hands. Well, I might have clapped just a little. I give it 10 too, just because I wasn't practically bored not even for a single episode. And yes, it does remind me of Aria in some strange way, although they're definitely two very different shows (and I love how Alice and Sora have the same voice actor doing two very different personalities). How should I say, there are those warm moments in both. The entire show was filled with rise and fall, which made me feel extremely strong empathy for the heroine and made me feel so happy seeing her make the dream a reaityl. A super happy ending and well deserved too. |

I was wondering if anyone could be so kind as to help me identify the music played in the background during the Swan Lake act, especially when Sora's Odette appeared on stage and when the stage door opened in preparation for the Angel's Maneuver? |

Overall, I'll rate this a 7/10. The second half is a bit painful to watch for me...as the pacing and I'm not a fan of Leon or his little story with Sophia. I'm glad Layla isn't a bitch anymore though. The final performances were pretty decent and I'm glad Sora made it through! |

It may have some problems, but it is so inspirational and motivational I just can't hate it.... Likeable characters, interesting plot, great presentation (as expected from Junichi Satou of Princess Tutu) and a unique experience in overall. Definetely in my top 10, and I think that when sometime my kids are in need of something motivational, I should give them this recommendation. 8/10, though far from perfect it can be considered a motivational masterpiece. |

Sato Junichi has earned a spot in my favorite people with this one. Kaleido Star has been a brilliant journey of chasing one's dreams and this finale was the perfect embodiment of that dreamland. Sora's performance was awe inspiring and I don't even know what words of praise I can use to get my love for her character across. I like what Cathy said, about how she's at an age where she wants to believe in things like a stage without a battle. That in combination with the main theme of pursuing one's dream have reminded me of what it was like to be younger and full of ambition. Not to write myself off as an old man (ahem), it's just that somewhere in life I lost sight of the things that made Sora and the others shine so brightly and I want to instill them into my own heart. It's just like the performers at the end of the show, I feel like I'm unable to sit still now and have to do something to inch forward towards my own passions. 9.5/10, there's so much more to say but I think I'll savor this feeling of complete bliss and inspiration instead. Edit: It was completely worth rewatching the performance. Normally when I revisit an emotional scene it brings back fond memories and makes me a little watery eyed but it's not quite as powerful as the first time. So it speaks volumes when I have 3 full tears streaming down my face watching it a second time. Especially when Layla called Sora her pride, that part got me the most when I saw it coming. Kaleido Star has been a huge source of inspiration in the past week. Easily deserved 10/10, no doubt in my mind. Perhaps the most foolish rating I've given. |

More. More. More. More. More. More. MORE! God, I want more Kaleido Star episodes! My thoughts on the series (episode by episode) EP 1: Pretty likable show with a unique flair but it's predictable and I don't think Kaleido Star will be special at all. (6/10) EP 2+3: Ok... well, it's not much but I think this show might be going somewhere.. (6/10) EP 4: The intensity, the choreography, the dedication, the dramatic flair is really starting to be captivating (7/10) EP 5 to 11: Kaleido Star is an episodic series with incredibly well-written self-contained stories and Sora holds everything together really, really well (7.5/10) EP 12-15: Everything that was great about the show early on increases. The subplots are established and developed at an even greater level of quality than before (8/10) EP 16-26: The apex of season one. There's the Legendary Great Manuever, Yuri's phenomenal character arc, that transcendent second OP, episode 22's jaw-dropping mask reveal, and the unforgettable episode 17. Literally Kaleido Star at its absolute best. (10/10) SEASON TWO EP 27-28: Skipped the recap episodes. Never liked recap episodes and, at the time, I had a feeling that I wasn't going to like Kaleido Star's recap episodes at all. (?/10) EP 29 +30: I really, really, really enjoyed the hell out of Sora's performance and the conflict in ideologies between her and Leon was intriguing to say the least. Though May really started to get on my nerves, I have to say that what S2 has given me so far isn't as bad as I heard it was. (7/10) EP 31-39: Lord. Have. Mercy. It's literally everything I didn't want Kaleido Star to be; this is an absolute desecration of all that this show represented. May is completely insufferable and Leon is a world-class dick. More than anything else, what I really don't like about this stretch is how adamant Kaleido Star is in making Sora suffer. It's torture porn at its most unsettling and unbearable. (3/10) EP 40-44: Back on track. You can feel the innocent wonder and boundless energy coursing once again through Sora and, by proxy, Kaleido Star itself. Despite the overwhelming creepiness of the end of episode 41, this show is better than it has been in a while. With its lovingly recall of S1's first episodes, May's redemption arc, that one hilarious bank robbery episode, and Sora's breathtaking acrobatic brilliance, I can't help but feel that this stretch is one hell of a compensation for S2's shitty earlier episodes. (9/10) EP 45: Pretty solid episode. (7/10) EP 46: Holy shit. HOLY SHIT! HOLY SHIT! This episode right here is a flat-out classic. The ultimate showdown between two demons. The world's most intense confession. The through-the-ceiling dramatic appeal. Leon's redemption. Everything about this episode is downright masterful. This is Kaleido Star at its finest. (10/10) EP 47-50: Fantastic build-up to the last episode. It brings together the plot elements from the very beginning and re-introduces characters that we haven't seen in forever. It gives importance, screen time, and depth to characters who haven't received any of the three in quite a while, like Anna and Mia. More than anything else, Sora's uber-intense training for the Angel's Maneuver is eye-popping to say the least. Oh, and the "showdown" between Sora and Layla was the best. Literally the best. (9/10) EP 51: Award-worthy animation and world-class execution. Raises the nostalgia factor up to 100 and hits the heartstrings in just the right fashion. A fantastic series finale for a fantastic show but at the same time, there are things that Kaleido Star didn't bother to bring up. (8/10) Overall, I give this a 9. |

Damn Satou Junichi knows how to make a phenomenal conclusion.First Aria now this I'm gonna watch more of his works that's for sure. This was such an enjoyable ride easily can be considered as a motivational masterpiece.I loved the development of Sora and Layla's character denifitely the highlight of this anime. The stage performances were all dazzling and well choreographed. The humour was mostly on point.Drama was just ok.Last 2 episodes were beyond perfect. Although I've seen some short-comings.Not exactly the most original characters in terms of personality and design , I'm not satisfied with some of the cast memebers development especially Ken's , predictable standart shoujo stuff here and there could tell it is aimed at a much younger audience , first half of season 2 is absolute horseshit just a torture porn , Layla is a WAY better antagonist than May and Leon and the chins..well... Overall it was a meaningful and enjoyable experience 8/10. |

It's been almost 14 years after this series first aired. This was in my to watch list for a long time and I did not have any expectation at first. But it turned out to be a great series. Almost perfect if not for 2 recap episodes and a bit boring moments during the earlier of season 2. I did not notice about the series director until I saw everyone mentioned it. After checking out, turned out those 2 directors(Junichi Satou and Yoshimasa Hiraike) directed many of my favorite shows. Kailedo Star became one of them. When I first watched this, I reminded about Ginban Kaleidoscope. If you like Kaleido, you may want to try it. |

It didn't make me cry like the end of the first season, but it truly was a very sweet and fitting ending. That said, no show has made me cry like Kaleido Star did. I cried when Sora was happy, I cried when she was sad; she's such a sweet character that's very easy to sympathize with. The first season and the latter part of this season are an easy score of nine, but I struggled so much through the first part of the second season so final score is an 8/10! |

god what a piece of crap it spent more time on drama than not the first 10 or so episodes were ok but once the yuri takeover crap started it turned to shit.. then we get some overhyped and yet super disappointing "legendary move" and were forced to put up with two new super annoying characters that made it even more shit.. 2/10 (horrible) is the only way to put this |

Amazing final episode. Everyone able to achieve their dream... And Rosetta is now able to see Fool! Leon apologizing for being rude to Layla before was so sweet! And then we have Layla saying "You're my pride". The stage was beautiful, the sun behind Sora as she became an angel... Those two last episodes were masterpieces. I really loved it. Ken saying "If you don't feel like shouting the maneuver's name just say it!" hahahaha I really hated some arcs and think the anime could be much better, but I'm going to miss this show. ♥ |

I see Leon has finally apologized to Sora for calling Layla a lukewarm performer, he sure has changed from the name "Shinigami"! It was also great to see Rosetta finally on the trapezes, her " eternal illusion " with May was really great. No wonder now she can see the "fool", I guess the torch is passed to her now. I see Layla's role is done on the stage, hence not seeing the " fool" anymore, she will be deeply missed though. That was a stunning and epic performance by Sora, my favorite part was when she was able to captivate every performer to the stage. I guess her dream is slowly coming true of bringing smiles to everyone without battles, but her dream of becoming a Kaleido star has fully came through! That was a good ending, and very satisfying for everyone. Overall I wouldn't say I fully enjoyed the entire series. There were moments that were frustrating for me, like Sora's constant predictable meddling to people's business. Also I hated the back and forth story line, I felt this series didn't need that much episodes to finish good. Her dream was happy go lucky, it was just that, a dream. Like how can you say you will end battles in the Kaleido stage just because you can't take the heat that comes with it. For me I just think she was running away. Auditions are created for the show to be the best for the audience, if you take them away you make the production suffer, it also means anyone including me can get into that stage. I also felt Sora in the series got away with so much and did what she please, and that irritated me in some moments. I also felt she had too much favoritism too, but oh well! 7/10. |

What an amazing journey it was! Sora really did magic not only for the audience in the show, but for the audience in front of the screen as well...Incredible on every level, nothing to add. Or rather, I can't even express how emotionally great the whole experience was. 10000/10 I guess Rosetta is going to surpass Sora 3 years from now? ;P And the last line was shouted out by them both, right? And I loved how Sora, Anna and Mia sang the ending song a bit P.S. When Layla stands up to clap, the hair color of Julie and Charlotte (sitting next to Layla's maid) is wrong and different from their usual one (and from the one showed before, when they were waiting for the show to start). Just a funny slip-up x) |

This anime was kinda weak in the middle with May and Leon antics. Layla is by far the one who carried this show. They even needed her at the end to make a strong conclusion story like this. Rosetta is a very lovely girl, I will hate The Fool if he act perverted to my girl lol. |

Kaleido STAR STAR STAR! |
