Getting back into anime and hoping to update my list! Also obsessed with FGO
Note: I no longer am adding series to my "currently watching" as it's a curse to never finish them. Instead, I just add
a series after I complete it.
I like bishounen and mediocre anime. I'd rather be reading manga. At any given point I'm probably crying thinking about the shinsengumi. I'd die for Kyoko Mogami from Skip Beat and Takashi Natsume from Natsume Yuujinchou. Hopeless shoujo addict. Increasingly weak to idol anime.
Sidebar and header art is the Gintama Shinsengumi. Bottom corner art is Hijikata (L) and Katsura (R) from Gintama. Top corner art is Okita Souji from Kaze Hikaru. Anime list header is from Ghost Hunt. Manga list header is from Saiyuuki.
About Me!
20-something adult(?) with a job but no life
new to this and too old for this
I love shounen...and bishounen.
Heartwarming SoL are everything to me.
Shoujo manga and shounen anime.
Characters and the relationships they build with one another are the most important things to me in a series.
Prince of Tennis is trash and I am Prince of Tennis trash
GHOST HUNT
Tsukipro is my favorite idol franchise but Reiji from UtaPri is my favorite idol
I love samurai stuff, like, a lot
I get distracted by new shows way too easily
Three-part tag score: #+= almost the next score, #/= confident in the current score, #-= I struggled between this score and a lower score. ML=Manga List (I want to read the manga after finishing the anime). LHB/RHB/WHB= light/red/white-haired boy
I had this noble idea that I would never drop a show, but then I realized I shouldn't waste my time watching anime I don't want to watch when there is so much that I do want to watch. That said, a dropped show isn't necessarily dropped forever, I just don't see myself coming back to it any time soon. I also might watch one or two episodes of a show randomly out of curiosity but never continue it so I don't feel it's necessary to add it to my list. Also, if I finished a show, even with a low rating, that means I found something enjoyable enough about it to stick with it to the end.
Favorite Things in Anime and Manga
light-haired anime boys
kind-hearted yet strong-willed shoujo heroines
single father tropes
quirky bands of friends
characters that act cool/cute and carefree but secretly have dark tragic pasts
characters with a strong sense of justice and compassion for others
samurai, or anything samurai-inspired, historical settings
Bakumatsu and Meiji era!!
short form anime series
soccer anime and manga
Kitsune, youkai and other spirits, shrines
BISHOUNEN
adorable shota that are too precious and must be protected
male idol anime
Manga
Manga > anime.
I love fluffy shoujo manga and it's a problem.
I score manga whenever I feel like I've read enough of the series to get a feel for it and reevaulate that score periodically. It's subjective; some series I can score after just one volume, but others may take nearly the whole series.
Unlike anime, I have no problem with having 20+ currently reading manga series.
I have a habit of randomly starting the first few chapters of a scanlated manga and then never continuing it. Most of my updated manga is hard copies I've checked out from my local library. BL manga may or may not make it onto the list even if I have completed it. Sometimes I'll put off anime that I really want to watch because I'd rather read the manga first.
full Hijikata graphic in progress!
Always in progress, because there are always more great anime boys to discover
Click on the images to go to a character's MAL page!
Not really in any order
I tried to keep it to 1-2 characters per series (otherwise all of the InuYasha and Saiyuuki boys would be on here)
This may get long, but it's nice to have all of the characters I've loved in one place
Always in progress, because there are always more great anime girls to discover

Greetings theshinsengumi, I recently gave you an invite to a club I launched two months ago called The Immemoriam Library
Currently the club consists of Best Boy Competitions, Group Watching older anime, and JPop/JRock discussion.
If any of those three of our interest to you we'd love for you to pick up the next pen ^.^.
*If the invite does not send please do inform me and I'll give you a link to the club instead*
There is actually a lot of people active on this website that are 20+. An example is I know two ladies that are in the Discord who are 27 and they are always getting home from work and just chilling after.
I just noticed that you're watching the new Binan. How does it compare to the other seasons so far? I'm butthurt that they replaced the original cast but I heard the new guys have a magic otter and I kind of want to see it. 😭
I'm tempted for Alice! Also I'm in the middle of Nightshade myself. Put it on hold after I started Kuroyuki for some reason...the first routes I played were really good though. The cast is amazing too. Interested to see your rankings at the start vs the end, mine have already changed and I haven't even played them all lol!
I haven't played the new release yet if that's the one you mean, haven't touched Hakuouki in years and thought I'd wait for the second part too before trying Kyoto Winds after all this time.
May all your wishes come true! Even if a bit late!
And omg I haven't played SWD in forever I didn't even know there is an Alice version...love that. I don't particularly rec Kikuya but love Nightshade so far, if it helps you prioritize! (I tend to play the less interesting ones first if I am set on finishing them all, to be honest...lol)
the first chapter of pet shop is such a perfect little sample of what the series is like!! Count D being a combination of sexy and alluring with terrifying and enigmatic make him an easy favorite for me!
done with the first 7 for Shigeshoushi! after reading Dokuhime I sort of adjusted my thoughts on how I was expecting Shigeshoushi to go and doing that helped me jump right in - I think I started tearing up as early as the first chapter. ;_; Mamiya has so far been a very fascinating lead and I think the way the first chapters quietly prod into the different aspects of his personality against the different embalming cases leads to a really engaging read. the way it seems to explore an aspect of his psyche every time while also telling emotionally rich little stories about death and subsequent grief are just really cool, and just when you think it might get formulaic it likes to break the mold it sets up in some quirky ways. get on discord when you finish your pet shop chapters so we can discuss them more in depth!!

Have you been studying Japanese too and what do you love most about Vision of Escaflowne?
My first girlfriend has the birthday as you. She went from being a jolly tomboy to basically a happy Amish mom.
i like reiji as well haha, he's a good boy
