THIS IS AN ANIME ONLY DISCUSSION POST. DO NOT DISCUSS THE MANGA BEYOND THIS EPISODE.
----------------------------------------
Pretty decent episode and reasonable plot development.

It seems that Makina is somehow following the path of Shichisei instead of a Shikabane Hime. Once again, Ouri fails and couldn't do anything.

The main difference between Shichisei and normal Shikabane is that Shichisei do not fear death. If their "purpose" is fulfilled, they do not mind being destroyed in the process. And they have that "Akatsuki-styled" vibe of ideals and conducts....And we get to see some nice shots of Shichisei members....

I wonder what happened to Takamasa 's body or what happens if a contracted priest falls in love with his or her Shikabane Hime.....

Next episode on Itsuki and Takamasa's past. What happened between them?

A different ED again? Strange.

The endless debate between fans and haters. At one point, after spending a lot of time on MAL, you just realize it's totally pointless.

well since oori is different, the normal rules may not apply to him. they have yet to say what that difference is though. i am not surprised that it would take this long to resolve the whole contract issue.

So, Makina is back where she was when Kuro started and Oori is still weak. With the cat's appearance, I have pretty much resigned to the fact that Oori will stay weak until he remembers his past which has something to do with some remarkable power. Maybe he's already dead, who knows? The point is, I don't them working towards making Oori stronger, and instead will be doing various backgrounds on characters (Takamasa, and maybe each Shichisei member in their own episodes) while Oori "trains."

Towards the end when some of the Shichisei have died we will get a couple of revalations regarding the main characters and the leader of Shichisei, big battle, and end.

I hope I'm wrong.

If they follow the manga, the second season is not enough to cover the storyline.

There are currently nine volume published with ongoing chapters. Keisei died in volume 3. And we are still like in volume 4.

Who knows, maybe they'll end it with an OVA like School Rumble ;_;

Hopefully they can finish it in time and not have to end it with an OVA.

This was a decent episode.

I'm thinking Oori is like the Shichisei members and may actually be dead but alive for a specific goal.

Either that or the cat formed a contract with Oori but in staid of the cat corpse getting it's powers from Oori, Oori will get his powers from the cat. I think until he remembers the contract, their rune may be deactivated (like what they where trying to do with Makina in this ep). Would be interesting if Oori was also dead but still made a contract with the cat. So basically Dead cat->Shichisei dead human->Makina. haha theres so many things it could be.

Well, who if the Oori is the cat himself, since I don't read the manga nor the manga was translated anywhere far beyond the first few chapters >_<

P.S. watching ED of this series can make you drool sometime.
LOL how they narrating the preview but ending with "Itsuki's shape"

These were some seriously good developments. This episode was far better than the last few. I really want to know who or what is Ouri exactly. And I hope he'll gain some maturity by the way ;)

That's one of the possibilities I thought of too, and one of the most probable ones. Since we don't know what happened to Ouri when he was really young, and everyone tells him he has a strong link with the dead, maybe he was already dead at the time Keisei found him (that doesn't explain why he still ages though, the other corpses retain the form of their death eternally... so maybe we're wrong)?

In every age, in every place, the deeds of men remain the same.

Good point, maybe thats why he's "special" lol.

I bet where looking to far into this and the only special thing about it is that he formed a contract with the cat and can be able to sustain more then one Shikabane Hime :(.

Very nice episode, really enjoyed it. Too bad that Makina's tied up again. The ED is alright but I preferred the previous one.

Makina, you really disappoint me, I thought you were over it and about to go after the Seven Stars, then you almost kill our lead.

I look forward to the character development in the next episode.

New ending has even more fan service than the old one...Looks like the story has gone no where, Makina is back to her old self and Oori is talking to the cat again.

Makina is getting annoying. her old angsty shit is idiotic. We get it, you can't get over him. You HAVE to, and he wanted you to work with Ouri. Seriously she's probably the least likeable character at the moment, at least they are establishing the other monks/shikabane hime.

I could've told the Kongou priests that Makina would never give up her connection with Keisei. I didn't expect her to try and kill Oori though

I am really curious about Genpaku's backstory. What on earth happened to the poor guy. Looks like a fiery snake wrapped around his body and left burns on his skin.

Wow, I really like that new ED. The OST is pretty damn awesome. Let's see if they introduce a new OP soon.

She was trying to retire/injure him… WTF!? I'm not liking the behavior of Makina toward MC... I know she loved Keisei and she doesn’t want to let go of him but she needs to understand that Ouri is now his contractor and not only that he is granting her the opportunity to avenge her family... I'm not asking that she needs to love him back/fall in love with him what I'm asking is that she treat him as a partner/friend/family/comrade (be concerned as her loved one little bro.) or at least respect him.

They keep teasing us with this damn cat LOL
We know he's no a Shikabane, because he's warm, alive, growing. We know he doesn't have too special spiritual ability, since he does nothing special. I feel like this anime will end with him being a 2nd person POV the entire anime while teasing he's some supernatural entity.

So that hottie was the 19 year old?! I couldn't tell without the glasses. Kind of young for me but I can make exception.

This anime is so sad, they are alive, but even the human monks can't accept them as alive for they are dead. Even if they aren't counter-productive toxic monks like rest of the cult, they still can't see as alive... but... we see they kind of do, with Ouri just being the extreme.
4/5, black seems to go further into "fan service" which is annoying, but damn did that hot spring seems so nice, wish I was there. I'm happy the princesses can at least feel that warmth <3
