THIS IS AN ANIME ONLY DISCUSSION POST. DO NOT DISCUSS THE MANGA BEYOND THIS EPISODE. ---------------------------------------- Dat school drama~ Nice to see this episode take place more in the modern world tbh. Also kinda like some of the OST the episode. Tense episode with a cliffhangerish ending. Dat grin: I'm curious on next week with the confrontation. Ya, I sense rage and hate coming from both sides. |

Another meh episode for a meh anime. Kadowaki gets summoned to the other world and becomes the sho of the other super strong, only sword in the world that can defeat Arata's sword and then swears to kill Hinohara. This guy is one of the most lame antagonists I have seen. He is basically crazy with rage and wanting to murder Hinohara because he lost to him in a middle school track race? Uh ok. Everytime I see him freaking out about Hinohara,(which is basically the entire time) i just have to facepalm. I wanted to like this series and ill stick through till the end, but im having a hard time finding it fun. |

This was a good episode and the ending was quite creepy and evil. They cut a few corners here and there in translation from source material to the anime, but it wasn't as bad as last week. Other than changing the way Arata saved Kadowaki as well as how and where Harunawa appeared, and the fact that it was the other six Sho and not Harunawa that filled Kadowaki in on what was going on, and that Kadowaki had figured out the truth about the two Aratas because he saw the two talking to each other and not because of Harunawa, everything else was pretty faithful. They didn't really go as deep as they should have into Kidowaki and Arata's relationship, which kind of makes Kidowaki look petty. However, I think they may get to that later. So now all the players are in place and Kidowaki will now be coming after Arata. They still seem to be following very closely by the numbers and looks as if they may include the arc with Yorunami's zokusho. And if that's the case, there is no way this show is going to get resolved in anything other than a trainwreck unless they decided to end it open ended. We have 4 episodes left, and next episode is going to concentrate on the first fight between Arata and Kadowaki as well as Kannagi beginning to teach and train Arata. That means that we will only have 3 episodes left to work with dealing with the other elemental Sho, as well as what the Six Sho are up to, as well as what's going on in Japan with Arata and the newly arrived Harunawa, as well as dealing with the dying princess and the whole race to become king ("emperor" in the manga). Can you see now why this series seems to have bit off more than it can chew by introducing all these plot points and only having 12 episodes with which to show them? They are cutting corners here and there but it's not enough if they want to save on time, and also the fact that they are cutting corners waters down and dilutes the story as well. I give the episode a 7.65/10. |

That's the rest of the series in a nutshell. the end. Again, this anime cut the wrong corners and didn't go into the full story of Kidowaki and Hinohara. There was a lot more to it, which I hope they decide to get into next episode. And it's possible that they may one day be friends again, but know that in the 200+ chapters thus far in the manga, they are still fierce enemies. So don't count on them being friends at all by the end of this show, unless they do an anime-original ending. |

Wow, strict father. So that's the reason for him to greatly hate Arata. That another Arata trying to figure out about friends is... Wow, NamiDai's character! And one of the 6 masked (who seems to know that they switched and acting differently from other guardians) is voiced by Ishida-san, who called that pre-friend to come and switched, it seems. Did they skip that part that mentioned in his MAL profile? (about seeing two Aratas talking) Is that girl beginning to figure out that he's different because of him coming here? |

Kadowaki finally appears in the other world. He blames Hinohara for everything. Arata trying to figure things out but he also had some issues to attend to. Hinohara and gang arrive at Yoronumi's domain. Kadowaki gets his very own Hayagami Orochi. Next week Kotoha now realizes he is not her Arata and Hinohara and Kadowaki face off. Does Harunawa ( Ishida-san VA) have some relationship to Arata like Hinohara and Kadowaki?? Hope to see Arata meet Harunawa in the modern world. Whoa Yoronumi wants Arata to submit to him?? It seems all he 12 Shos are doing their own thing and not helping each other out with Six Sho problem |

Yes, it was revealed in volume 18 that Harunawa is linked to Arata's past: Harunawa killed Arata's parents and nearly killed Arata but decided to let him survive because he wasn't a girl (Harunawa was making sure that no girl in the Hime-clan was available to be the successor of Hime-ou. The adaptation this time wasn't as bad as other episodes but it's a shame that they are rushing things and the anime is already ending because in my opinion the story "starts" when Kadowaki goes to Amawakuni, or at least it's when things start to get exciting. I couldn't distinguish Shimu out of the 6 Shinshou, which is weird since he is technically the "leader" of them. Kikitsune, Ameeno and Ikisu were easy to distinguish despite the mask. |

Well I sure hope they do. I was pretty sure there should be more to Kadowaki's hatred for Hinohara than just what we're seeing...because if that was all, it would be really lame. Whatever it is that happened between them, I still can't see how that would make Kadowaki so angry that he wants to kill Hinohara. I mean normal people may say they want to kill someone, but not really have the motivation to do so like Kadowaki...but then again, maybe he is mentally unstable. Talk about anger management. If they don't show why Kadowaki hates Hinohara so much, I think I might have to resort to the manga. Anyways, best part of the episode was Kannagi just laying there watching them practice XD I laughed. Seriously, I never thought I would come to like Kannagi (even a little), but he seems pretty interesting. |

Damn they are running fast with this anime. If we compare it to the manga they are already past chapter 35. Because of the few episode they are rushing trough the story and are cutting important things that shows us some plot devolpment. They didnt show us why kadowaki hates arata so much. The reason of because he lost at track doest make any sense. Because you have lost and want to kill sombody. Is making this fantastic story a bit retarded. I didnt know there was a manga of this series first. I am going to watch the anime till the end (only 12 episodes) and then i will start with the manga. I think i wouldnt be satesfied with the anime but the manga will explain everthing in detail and is till ongoing. If they wanted to animate this story they should have gone for more than 12 episodes. Like Fushi Yuugi more than 50 episode ore so. Because now it feels rushed and doesnt make any fucking sense. I am dissapointed in the story. I hope this anime gets an anime Original end. And i hope they dont spoil the real ending of the manga. And were is the other girl in the modern world who resembles kotonoha? she didnt apear in the anime? |

OMG, this got really stupid, though at least in a funny way. What a petty villain, this Kadowaki... Throwing an endless tantrum because Hinohara won a race against him? But of course, there had to be a guy who hated Hinohara's guts, even if it was for the lamest reason. ... I guess Kadowaki is what you call "stupid evil". His father is not that great either, telling his son: "That's why your mother left you"... XD LMAO, a wife doesn't leave her son, but her husband, even if the source of the problem was said son... talk about a dense father. I guess it's an adaptation problem and the manga doesn't have this idiocy as it's been pointed out... Nonetheless, it's a joke so far... but at least I laughed a lot this episode. |

For everyone saying that Kadowaki hates Arata because of a "lost race", their story is a little more complicated than that. For anyone who wants to know the story of Kadowaki and Arata's relationship: Kadowaki and Arata used to be friends in middle school and were both on the track team. Kadowaki has a lot of family problems. His father is a political/business big shot who's never home but expected his son to live up to impossible expectations, and his mother divorced his dad, remarried and abandoned her son. Arata was his first true friend and the first person that was actually his role model. Arata liked Kidowaki for himself and not for his power and money, he was also the only person who could beat him in track. Kidowaki was finally happy because he felt that Arata thought of him as an equal and he vowed that he would catch up to him in track and become worthy of being that equal. Yet, one day Kidowaki and Arata were up for the same team position, and Arata wanted to please his friend so that Kidowaki could get the spotlight for once and please his family. So he threw the race and slowed down at the last second letting Kidowaki win. Kidowaki however never cared about his family and when Arata cheated and let him win, he felt betrayed. He felt that Arata no longer looked at him like as an equal and was looking down on him. After that day, Kidowaki and Arata were no longer friends. Kidowaki instead began to bully and torture Arata, angry at him and wanting Arata to fight him back. He wanted Arata to admit that he was at least good enough for Arata to fight. And yet Arata never fought back, no matter what sort of horror Kidowaki put him through. Kadowaki even upped the ante by using his influence and wealth to turn the rest of the school against Arata too. Arata couldn't understand why his friend suddenly hated him and began to grow extreme low self-esteem from the bullying. Eventually it became too much and Arata broke psychologically. He left school completely and never returned until high school. He thought he could start a whole new year with a whole new start and leave his memories of Kadowaki behind. However, Kadowaki surprisingly ended up at the same school and the process began all over again. This leads to where we begin in the anime series. And in the manga, Kadowaki is not only able to push Arata's only friend into betraying him, but also bullying him too. Eventually Kadowaki and Arata's relationship troubles transfers over to Amawakuni and Kadowaki's anger against Arata turns into a vicious hatred. Arata on the other hand, begins to gain self-esteem and pride and matures into a great leader as the series goes on. He no longer bows before Kadowaki and is willing to face him head on. Kadowaki's hatred towards Arata is something that actually builds a little slower in the manga as in the beginning he just wants to beat Arata and later his hatred grows to a desire to kill him. They say Arata's relationship with Kidowaki is supposed to reflect that of Akachi and Kannagi. However I have to say that I always found Arata/Kidowaki's issues a contrived mess of high school drama that could have been easily solved early on if someone had bothered to correct the misunderstandings. Akachi and Kannagi's relationship however was much deeper and much more tragic, and there was actual betrayal involved and death and sacrifice. In comparison, Arata and Kidowaki's incident was really child's play. |

I've rewatched the episode again and the anime made a fail with two of the Six Shinshou designs: Kikitsune is the easiest to identify due to his hair and skin color. Isora has the mouth thing which also makes it easy to identify. Ikisu's hair design is unique so there's no difficulty is saying who is he. Harunawa is the only one with white hair. Shimu's hair design fits but he is supposed to have black hair Ameeno is a black guy but he looks white in the anime I still think that Kadowaki needed a psychologist to solve his problems but decided to push them all onto Hinohara so I'm not sympathetic towards him. In the manga Kadowaki discovers that Hinohara is in Amawakuni when he caught the 2 Aratas talking about Hime-ou (she can be revived with Tsukuyo but Hinohara has a time limit, the necklace darkens its color when her life is reduced). At that moment Kadowaki was able to see that Arata isn't Hinohara (the spell went away) and got mad like we saw in the episode. And in the manga there's a girl called Oribe (according to Arata she resembles Kotoha physically although I think Oribe is prettier but personality-wise they're very different) who was able to see that Arata wasn't Hinohara, Kadowaki used to question her about what she was talking about. |

Oh so that's why Kadowaki hates Hinohara so much. |

What, some unknown japanese schoolboy bending us over?.. well, we will get our own japanese schoolboy, with mahjong and geishas. |

Thanks for the insight guys. Ok, so it wasn't that Hinohara won a race. The reason for the hatred is still quite petty. Kadowaki is a joke. At least now in comparison, Hinohara comes out as a much better character. Wow... Talking about being petty... I mean Kadowaki hates Arata(from normal world),because he thinks Arata let him win in middle school track race... If you turn into total asshole and later total psycho because that, you got serious problems. I guess Kadowaki's daddy issues aint helping the situation at all. |

I keep forgetting how far each of the anime in this season are along ... DAL is on 10, Gargantia's on 9 and Arata's playing catchup with 8. Kadowaki is kinda nuts, yes? Shitty home life and all. I wonder how that one Sho will react to being in the real world. Probably beat the crap out of Kadowaki's dad the next time he tries to slap him and then go after Cool!Arata. I wish this show was two seasons; maybe it'll end with a sequel hook, but I've heard somewhere the DVD sales are lousy for this show, so probably not. |

This episode really brought a whole new level of stupid. The amount of eye rolling I did this episode was over 9000. Okay, but seriously, if you want to give someone a reason to kill someone else, it can't be as stupid as this load of shit. Who the hell gives up on track because he lost to someone or that Arata lost it for him? The fact that we don't even know the exact reason for the hate makes this show even worse. And on top of that who would kill someone over that? This show was already semi-boring, but now its boring AND has a dumb plot to it. Edit: i just read the spoiler about their relationship, and it doesn't change how dumb kadowaki's reasoning is. Then again anime logic =/= real world logic. |

5/5 The figure of Kadowaki and a really bad bad as that of SAO, a real fag. A spineless to do the role which we will see in the future anyway! Interesting current developments, came on the very bad school friend, now also move the six dressed in black! I hope does not end so soon, and would like more pathos. Great desire to follow him, but also to leave for too many mistakes made so far. |

Irenesharda said: This was a good episode and the ending was quite creepy and evil. I give the episode a 7.65/10. if you say whats gonna be in next episode, put spoilers |

...Wow. I don't think I have enough expletives in my vocabulary to convey how I'm feeling about this adaptation at the moment, especially after this episode. One of the few things that's keeping me from dropping is this is my desire to see the whole thing so I can fairly evaluate this in a review later. When they take bad shortcuts to get where they need to be, it shows. It shows terribly. |

And I didn't say anything about any future events except what was shown in the preview. However, to be extremely safe, I added a few spoiler tags. |

lawl Kawodaki CALM THE FUQ DOWN! It was like watching a trainwreck, I couldn't look away. If they really don't explain anything more and just leave it as is then i'm just going to lol forever at this show. I'm not going to click spoilers either, i'm going to leave it up to the anime. |

Damn the budget must be coming from children piggy-banks. Animation and artwork where dreadful and so is picture quality. niaxato said: Another meh episode for a meh anime. I share the same sentiments about that antagonist guy. Am not sure wth is his problem exactly but whatever it is no way it's that important to excuse all his stupid craziness. |
