Pretty powerful episode. Especially, the scene where Jeanne was punished.

was pretty scary XD

poor Oscar... I know she's not far from being suspected of gayness... but this is really weird. Concerning all we, watchers, have witnessed of her...

Jeane has a lot of luck that people were already growing mad at the royal family... the fun part is that she is now a touristic objective. *rofl*

I actually stopped this episode and read up on the "Affair of the Necklace" it was close enough(it added the gay slander) and did a good job using the characters. I just wonder if we are going to go into Robiespierre's reign in this show cause we are coming up on the Revolution.

Jeanne was determined to go out with a bang aye.
Sad that Antoinette is still so oblivious to the needs of the people.
She calls interacting with them "insignificant".
Someone needs to teach her the meaning of the word Queen.

Really intense episode and probably my favorite so far. This trial scene puts a lot of live-action movie trial scenes to shame.

I have a new favorite episode (so far). Jeanne is really becoming my favorite character of this series, together with Oscar. I hope that was not the last we heard of her. But as most other antagonists so far have been cast aside, I'm not too confident. But Nicolas is still out there and should have tons of money. He is the lucker in this affair ^^.
I probably regret this post by now.

Jeanne sure makes a fine antagonist I really don't know what to think about her right now.

The scene where she was branded was a really well done scene.

That trial was great, Jeanne is a complete psychopath claiming innocence till the end and convince tons of people because of the state affairs in France...talk about a catalyst.

The Queen might be a good person but she is oblivious to the state of her country and refuses to do her duties. I'm sorry but I got no sympathy for her and the oncoming revolution.

I liked Jeanne this episode. I'm glad she didn't kill the blind girl. The trial was great. The punishment was intense. Plus we find out Jeanne just wanted to be a prankster this whole time. Who knew?

Seriously. Can we have a Jeanne appreciation day? She's fucking brilliant.
And honestly, Marie Antoinette has learned nothing from this. She doesn't deserve to be queen!
By the way, what happened to the ED? No "oscar... OSCAR!!" From Andre? *my favorite part lol*

For something so "insignificant"? Really Marie? Really?

Maybe if you were actually fulfilling your duties instead of just screwing around, which is basically all she has done since she became Queen, you wouldn't have to be dealing with this sort of situation. So dam incompetent.

Hell I've been wondering what the heck happened to duke Orleans but he's probably somewhere just enjoying the show.

What a fantastic episode. Highlighted one of the best and most charismatic characters of the series in Jeanne, while perfectly portraying Versailles' complex dysfunction and unrest. Can't wait for the Revolution to get underway.

Jeanne is my favorite villain so far, she said her lies with such passion that everyone had actually believed her. she had a huge impact

Marie is still naive and Oscar still wants to protect her. I wonder when she will open her eyes. or perhaps Oscar already knows but doesn't want to betray the queen

Holy crap that was amazing. Jeanne put on, perhaps, the greatest showing thus far, trying to bring down as many people with herl. All these recent episodes have been heavy, but this one in particular cuts deep. Damn.

That guy is opportunist. Real history said he died during the revolution but his son became Louis Phillip king of France half a century later.

The Queen wondered why so many sympathized with Jeanne. Even now many commenters still root for her.

The most threatening element of the human spirit is one that has lost everything; truly Jeanne proved that. She wasn't going down with a quiet fall. She made sure to bring down everyone along with her to her level, and it succeeded beyond a doubt.

This show is really going from strength to strength. I'm afraid of looking up the histories behind the real life people on whom the characters are based, because I'm afraid of getting spoilered. Jeanne is riveting stuff.

Best episode so far. Jeanne is truly terrifying, but had Antoinette been more loved as a Queen by her people, nobody would even entertain Jeanne's accusations or throw any sympathy for her. People already brewed hatred for nobles and royal family, they just need justification to finally pass judgment upon them.

Jeanne getting rekt was satisfying.

I liked for once how the situation unfolded, Jeanne lied the best she could and motivated the people to go against the nobles, they really needed this motivation to strike.

The scene of the judgment was impeccable, especially regarding the details of the historical context.

Wrong Duke. The one we were seeing earlier (Louis Philippe I) died in 1785 (after selling a chateau to Marie Antoinette for 6 million livres. Too bad that wasn't showcased here). The one you're talking about was his son (Louis Philippe II). I wouldn't put it past them to conveniently forget that detail though considering everything else they've butchered so far, like how Fersen had come back two years prior, helped form an alliance between France and Sweden, and was both present and wrote accounts of the trial to his father back in Sweden during this time.

For some reason I can't use the url BBCode for these links. The commas might be throwing BBCode off, but it's part of the web address, so I can't do without them. Here's the links I meant to use:

Louis Philippe I: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Louis_Philippe_I,_Duke_of_Orléans
Louis Philippe II: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Louis_Philippe_II,_Duke_of_Orléans

Don't get me wrong, I'm still enjoying this as a drama, but they could have made a much better story by sticking to what actually happened (in the correct order at that).

Holy shit, what an episode.

It's quite funny, the first time Jeanne showed mercy it backfired on her,but she probably wouldn't have made it anyway, since the soldiers had her already targeted. She may went out,not without a blast, tho, truly an intrigant till the very end.

Marie is now with the back against the wall, to make matters worse, the trial which was her idea gave it the final push.

So... in the end Jeanne has a soft spot for Nicole, despite using her for her selfish purposes. At least that's what it seemed. It's because she's blind and she pities her? Because she surely doesn't show that side of her to Rosalie.

Burning the letter is considered suspicious by the people who lost their reason because how the nobles and royalty have brought France to its poor state but what the hell would you otherwise do with some unkown payment paper, hang it on the wall as collectors item or something?!

I respect prankster Jeanne for going out with a bang considering her origin...but man was it satisfying to see her branded and put in prison, I hope she burns in hell.

Hell of an episode. Jeanne has always shone for her relentless energy and capacity for mischief, and here she brings it to the max. The question is why she would go so far after Marie Antoinette instead of embroiling Rohan, who was the more accessible target.

Jeanne never really hurt anyone she considered an innocent person. That lady they killed in the beginning was a part of the rich hated by everyone in her hometown , same goes for queen and Oscar , no reason to even talk about that piece of shit cardinal.
Nicolas beating her sister was more of a warning to interfere with her plans , there was no intention of killing her. In the end she wasn't a good person , but she wasn't even close to du Barry killing people right and left just for the sake of her reputation. That speech in court was powerful and she even helped a revolution in a way.

Jeanne is a great character.

Everything is just building onto each other for this revolution. Nobles that Marie pushed away from her villa have left the court and seen to Jeanne while she is in prison. The things Marie has done for her own benefit has gone against her negatively.
