According to Dengeki Visual Arts magazine, Baba Takahiro, the President of Visual Arts, said he wanted to ask Kyoto Animation to produce Little Busters! anime, but Kyoto Animation has been quite busy in producing other titles and Visual Arts could not wait for their turn to come. When the TV anime of AIR was produced, the staff of Visual Arts didn't know how to involved in the anime production. Baba said that at that time Kyoto Animation was the only studio which could produce such a wonderful anime without the help of the original creators. However, the great advance in the production of bishoujo anime and years of experiences of Visual Arts with anime producers have convinced Baba that the production studio of Little Busters anime is not necessarily Kyoto Animation. Baba revealed that the series composer Shimada Michiru had completed the original game including the hidden episode with her daughter. After finishing the game, she checked if she missed something by reading 4.7 MB of the text data of the game scenario. Game singer Rita announced in her official blog that she will sing the OP theme "Little Busters!" for the TV series. She had been frustrated because she couldn't have an opportunity to sing a theme song of an anime. She sang many theme songs for PC games but the theme song singers were always replaced by someone when the games got anime adaptations. (e.g. Yosuga no Sora) She said the song "Little Busters!" is the most precious song for her and thanked Visual Arts and the anime producers for choosing her. The ED theme of the TV series will also be Rita's "Alicemagic". Sources: Dengeki Visual Arts, Rita's blog, Key's staff blog |

Poor Baba.... Having to make excuses because we complain too much... Glad that Rita is singing, and interesting details about Shimada... Expectations rising... |

oh well.. I have decided, we will see we will see... I expect drops in animation quality because they are also animating other titles but i hope it wont be worse.. I saw many instances of those quality drops in so many titles of jc staff that ordinary fans will consder it intentional and part of animation. |

I don't think the animation will be bad, considering Little Busters will probably be JC Staff's priority. Their animation rarely sucks, too. I mean, look at Bakuman. |

Well it's sort of good that they actually acknowledge the fan's concerns about this adaptation. KamijouShinto said: oh well.. I have decided, we will see we will see... Granted, I don't think it'll be THAT hard to animate seeing as it's not a pure action series or anything. Though I do hope that they go the extra mile for those random ass fight scenes using erasers or aeroplanes or something, now that'll be hilarious to watch. |

Air was pretty bad back then if you ask me. I hope that the experience that Visual Arts bring to the table now allow JC Staff to not cock this up. It would annoy me greatly if JC had been left totally to their own devices on this. Rita getting the chance to sing is really good as she is a fantastic singer and I really enjoyed her vocals in the VN. |

Quite unfortunate, but predicted. KyoAni had Hyouka and that one other series they were planning to do, so it's not surprising that they're busy. We'll have to pray that JC will take this seriously because tons of people have been anticipating LB... Also, yay for Rita :D |

Sounds promising. I've liked most JC Staff titles I've watched, so I'm not all that worried. Ofcourse like most of you I would of prefered KyoAni since I love their animation quality. But I have high hopes for JC. ^_^ As long as Rin is still the main heroine and they manage to give all the other heroines their own ending(like kyoani did) and + refrain...I'd be happy. I have a feeling it might be worth 2 series though. |

I can't believe I'm writing this, but Kyoani is not anymore THE animation studio. Since Clannad quality dropped a lot in all of their productions. Disappearance is maybe their best so far but it still has problems like pacing or the K-Onized designs. So is not a big deal if they can't do LB. Also I would prefer a studio that can dedicate 100% of the time to the series than doing 2 or 3 projects at the same time. |

Baba Takahiro said: and Visual Arts could not wait for their turn to come Why'd you rush making an anime adaption when it's already been so long since people wanted one. It's not like another year would have mattered. Though it is nice to see that they're doing a lot of interaction with the fans with all those statements. They must also be glad all their fans want only the best for the anime adaption. Well, let's all hope Visual Arts wasn't wrong in chosing JC Staff and won't regret it later. phoenixalia said: ....seriously, is the president of visual arts looking at MAL? No, it's just that anime fans all over the world, as well as in Japan, are very concerned over the fact JC Staff is doing it. I don't think only people in MAL are discussing it. |

The legal age of consent in Japan is 13, so shota is totally legal in Japan. In some western countries shota might be considered child porn. |

Well a little hope boost even it was a rumor again from a japanese bbs." The script to be used is compiled by kyoani 2 years ago and will be modified a bit by jc staffs for their production." Its still a rumor but it boosted my hopes a bit more maybe 29% gice or take 5%. Now my concern is quality as jc staffs are are still known to drop quality at some random point. As they animate for money and not considering what the fans want to see. |

In any case, it feels like we're going to see a thread a week about this. Maybe they'll run out of things to reassure people about soon. jmal said: Solkiskey said: Do you think they're making these announcements for MAL users? lol phoenixalia said: ....seriously, is the president of visual arts looking at MAL? ...No. I never cease to be amazed by how much western fans overestimate their own importance. o_O There are ample places to look for reactions in Japan, and those are the people who are actually going to buy this (I bet maybe a dozen MAL posters, tops, import this, though I'll be one of them if it's at all good). Anyone who thinks they read MAL is plain silly. Their main audience is Japan. There's a huge board called 2ch there which is most likely what they read. People on MAL don't exist to them. Seriously, most people here just DL subs and don't buy any DVDs/Blurays/Merchandise ( I'm guilty as well ). I just find it funny people here on MAL think they matter to the studios in japan. |

With all the producers are doing to explain the details to us, I don't see a reason to distrust their judgment. Apparently, Key is now getting themselves more involved in the production system than they would have if it were KyoAni doing it, so at the very least, they are fully aware that fans fans aren't exactly thinking highly of J.C. Staff. I still think people are overreacting, but we'll see when the final product comes. Besides, it's not like J.C. Staff cannot deliver good stuff, I think it's mostly that they have too much on their hands that they tend to deliver sub-par material (even though I don't really have much of a problem with most of their recent work). |

Lolz sorry I was half asleep when I posted that. I meant it as joke. I think think I shouldn't have put the 'serious' bit hehe. still, its good to hear that the president is answering the fans' worries in what way he can. I think after all this hype, J.C Staff (I hope) will animate it well. |

I find it humorous that they're trying so hard to appease the fans and tell them "everything is going to be okay" when they got fucking JC Staff on the job. They must be incredibly worried over this otherwise they wouldn't be trying so hard to win over the hearts of the fans. |

I'm no businessman, but one would think that waiting for a studio known for it's relatively good adaptations is a better choice than going with a studio that is infamous for butchering titles. But hey, be my guest, I never understood all the fuzz about LB! to begin with. |

They had these in the second season -I new- but sraped them in the movies and went back to the previous designs. And even such series like K-ON are very good adaptions. Even if the source material is boring to begin with (the second season of K-On was actually way better than the original 4Koma). |

Didn't JC Staff have 6 anime running at once during Winter? They totally overbook themselves. I just hope they kinda lessen the amount of anime they have later this year so their budget isn't totally thinned out by multiple projects. |
