Pisces hour sure is long. Seiya still can walk and carry the heavy gold shield even when he lost his 5 senses. I know it's due to the help of Athena guiding him to the place and the power of the 7th sense but still...

What is more ridiculous that Seiya doing all sort of shit without senses is the other saints who know the truth and especially the gold ones doing nothing. So why exactly was Mu sitting around and chilling instead of fighting with them? I mean Sya only manages for a slight second. Why didn't Mu go and take the shield to help them or better fight with Gemini to give them the chance to go to the shield etc?

What was Aiolos doing also.
When he learned the truth he went to challenge the pope immediately and got brainwashed. After he woke up he just went for a tea it seems. Maybe he thought it was too troublesome fighting for Athena after he got brainwashed the first time.

Roshi a gold saint just thought of chilling by the water. Are this guys bloody serious?

I mean i would have got their attitude if they where simply some powerful people that could help but it wasn't really their business but they are suppose to be Athena's saints and their job is suppose to be about protecting her. And yet when her life was at balance instead of helping to make sure she gets saved and not risk her life at a last second attempt by some beat-up senseless guy trying to lift a shield they decided to just seat and chill out and do cloud watching.
If i was Athena i will fire them from the job the moment i got better.

I think that the reason the other gold saints don't come to interfere is because it is not their duty to do so, it is the main hero of the story. I know it doesn't make much sense, I think the way it was written made it this way.
For example, if gold saints like Mu and Roshi came and helped out with Seiya's journey in saving Athena, wouldn't that have made it too easy for Seiya?
Recently I took a short story course and learned about the stages of the quest a character must go through and this arc has most of it: The call, The other,The Journey, and The transformation/rebirth( google it I'm not making this up!). From what I saw Mu and some of the good gold saints are mainly helpers and guides to the main characters, and merely just that. Which is why they don't battle with the Pope nor help Athena. That's Seiya ( and the other 4) main goal.
Sorry for the long explanation for whoever reads this lol

I was far too overcritical last episode! This was by far one of my favorites in the series and the sanctuary arc is looking like it will end phenomenally!

Gemini elaborating on why he wants to rule made him a much better character and it also put the pieces back in place as to why Shaka thought he was good, and Death Mask was for his cause. He's corrupt, but not necessarily evil. He wants to rule so he can keep the universe in the way it is for them before Zeus, Poseidon, or Hades wins and takes everything for themselves.

The animation, art, and music were some of my favorites we've seen/heard. The punches that both Gemini did to Seiya and Ikki did to Gemini which sent them in a pinball like manner were brutal.
Shots like these are seriously some of my favorites in the series.

The intensity of Seiya fighting completely senseless and later Ikki defending Seiya was nail-biting, literally for me at least, and seeing Seiya crawl up the stairs near death had me freaking out. The group effort everyone had speaking to Seiya's cosmos was beautifully cheesy. And I finally get the Shaka love. Not only is he incredibly cool in his style and the way he fights, but he brought back Ikki once doubt for the first time had sunk into his heart.

I must say, I thought everyone was going to be brought back for the fight, but if it happens like this, in one of the most intense episodes, after Seiya saves Athena... that's really okay with me. The whole sequence of him struggling to hold up the shield made me realize it's when Saori wakes up that she'll bring them all back to beat the living crap out of Gemini together. I'm positive it will be cathartic and masterful.

I don't think you're necessarily wrong, and all saints are supposed to be Athena's after all, so the saints who knew the truth should be the ones to help. But, recall how role based this entire society is. They refused to send more than a handful of silver saints to kill the bronze because of the power difference and pride. The female saints must never show their face or they must love the man who saw it. The gold saints and all the others blindly follow the pope because they ought to. And it is the bronze saints roles to protect Athena as her personal saints. I think even though they understand what's happening, they know it's not their place to help. They're willing to put their trust in the saints who 'ought to save her'. I could be wrong, but I think it's pretty reasonable given how sanctuary works.

Exactly. What would be the point to Seiya and the other Bronze Saints being created if they ultimately weren't the ones to save her in the end? I can understand why people would question why the Gold Knights aren't helping since they're Athena's elite rank of knights. But they're obviously not perfect. The power that they wield can easily be used by any of them for evil. Such as was the case with the Aquarius and Cancer Saints. And now the Gemini Saint (granted that he has a case of split personalities). And then there's the fact that they have such a strict adherence to customs that known of them question the authority or character of the Pope due to his high status and close contact with Athena. Some of them were convinced that Saori was Athena. But they couldn't yet prove that until the Bronze Saints confronted the Pope. And even for those who knew the truth, such as Mu and Roshi, they probably had their faith that Athena would give them guidance in their journey.

After my sixth re-watch of the series, I confirm once again that this is definitely the best episode of the series by far. Such an awesome and nail-biting climax to the best part of the series, with tension at its max, never fails to thrill me.
