Tsurumaki Kazuya as the director, Hideaki Anno and Youji Enokido working on the script and there are even more people who worked on Neon Genesis Evangelion, Diebuster, FLCL and other high proclaimed anime made by Gainax back in the day.
Also, the character designs made by Take are SO appealing.

This anime NEEDS to be great.

I think even if it ends up being a dud, its GOT to be a big swing in a new direction for the franchise.

Jizzy as you would call yourself because youre a dick The most butthurt award goes to you And clearly you havent watched that many shows thats why you cant determine if a show is unique or not Or maybe you're just a child who likes common stuffs where hero saves the day and guys gets all the girls. Sad taste you have there kid you came up to me in the first place making you look more like a kid who got slapped without me even knowing it and start crying about it to me

Sunrise is hoping so much for this to work thanks to the Gainax people that it already looks more like their project based on the Gundam brand than something from Sunrise.

@JizzyHitler This already looks like one since it's practically literally a Gainax Gundam.

I know this is an unpopular opinion on sites like MAL, but this looks like a nightmare. The main design looks unoriginal and unimaginative, the moe characters tell me that there won't be any interest in developing serious worldbuilding, the boy-meets-girl story and school setting are massive red flags that destroy any anime, and the cyberpunk elements have been already done to death. Is there any interest in developing new shows based on sci-fi and geopolitics rather than lame stuff like teenagers coming out of their shells and romance?

@IdeDial This is not G-Witch, relax lmao. But seriously, we still know too little about it to talk about popular or unpopular opinions. So far it looks like girl meets girl meets boy, lol.

This is a excellent staff list right here. Anno, Kazuya, and take? Shit sign me up.
The trailer looked really cool too. Definitely watching this when it airs

@IdeDial Wake me up when they make another Hattaway Flash. This looks like a whole lot of flare, i hope it ends in a high note or at least wows my expectations considering G Witch was meh in comparison to other Gundam ACs

@Zetsu_95 It's all good, but I don't think the take design suits this type of show that well. This really looks like something from a more recent Pokemon games than Gundam

For sure. I haven’t really delved into Gundam besides the OG series’ movie trilogy compilation, but I’m very interested in checking this one out just because of the creative staff involved.

Yeah but take did art for Katanagatari and Zaregoto which are rather dark series so I don't see the problem tbh. take's art is distinct, unique and I love it alot

@Zetsu_95 I didn't mean that the this IP was too dark for them. Rather, it looks too cartoonish, which is why, as you can see, people already assume that it will be something very moe-ish and light-hearted. However, this has been the standard for the franchise for many years now.

@RobertBobert Yeah only one person in the thread who cares what they think. And it's not even close to "moe" or "light hearted".
If you actually look at actual Gundam fans opinions like I have seen they like the new designs. Well most anyway
And Gundam has different artstyles and looks almost every entry so wait and see before we make any big judgments. The contrast between the more colorful artstyle and the darker storyline could be used to good effect. Like I said, at least this will make it stand out more compared to the other entries

@Zetsu_95 I agree that it is too early to talk about anything. But I don't like the implication that only the opinions of fanboys, and modern ones at that, matter.

@Raxivace I think the less it looks like G-Witch, the more chance it has of actually being good.

Aside from the Director who directed FLCL, the anime is promising.
