Akatsuki No Yona just turned ten, this Fall – Congratulations!

When I first watched this anime, I was a little skeptical, but, honestly, as the narrative rolled, I was enticed with Yona, and very fond of the story.

What are your thoughts?
Despite the manga’s still running (and of the OVA) do you think a second season of the Red Dragon Princess’ yet a possibility on the horizon?

No, i don't think we will have a second season, not after all this time.
Maybe a reboot when the manga ends

Mmm...

IF we ever get (Akatsuki no) Yona again, then I would say a remake would be the better choice after all this time. 🤔

This show is what made me buy manga for the first time almost 8 years ago, it truly is a Shoujo masterpiece that doesn't get enough love from production committees.

Following the success of shows like Apothecary Diaries, Frieren, etc... shows centered around compelling and well written female leads, as well as the resurgence of Shoujo shows, I think an adaptation of one older and better regarded Shoujo mangas (which even has action and political conflicts undertones) would be a smash hit.

Manga is also ending soon so maybe after it is over we get a reboot that gains traction like Apothecary Diaries for a 2-cour second and third season to make a full adaptation.

If Fruits Basket got a reboot after all those years, then there’s some hope for Yona of the Dawn to get one.

unfortunately this is usually what happens when you sell something as a shoujo; you only get 1 season

Read it up till (I believe it was) chapter 181, where there was a development I really hated. Dropped it there, never picked it up again. I personally wouldn't need more seasons and was desillusioned by the manga, dropping it form 8/10, tot 4/10(ish).

Best Pierrot's project so far...

It's just unfair that Akatsuki no Yona will never get a sequel :(

Since the manga is in it's final arc, a reboot with a different studio is possible in the future, but I don't think a direct season 2 will happen after all this time.

Once again, I think it's hard to anime........................................ Even if it were to be made into an anime, I think it would be after the original manga is almost finished...

Personally, I don't think I particularly like the manga, since I prefer the manga serialized in the same manga magazine.

I think it’s still possible they’ll give Yona a second season. There’s a lot of material to work with and shows that came out around the same time are randomly getting new seasons recently. Like Blue Exorcist which aired in 2011, and then has a random season in 2017, which I thought was the end. And then got two more seasons this past year. Also Black Butler’s last full season and OVA was also in 2014 and then released a movie in 2017. But no full season until this year. That’s 7 years since last addition to the series for both of them and their mangas are still continuing like Yona. So still very possible we’ll get another Yona season. I don’t think reboot is going to happen at all considering it wasn’t that long ago and the animation quality is still good. Anyways I hope we get a new season, I’m desperate to see certain manga arcs animated!

No, it's been way too long to get a second season at this point. Also, the low blu-ray sales is probably why it never got another season. A remake on the other hand is more likely.
